Yeah, no. I had a friend from highschool whose wife got found out embezzling at work. They had 3 kids, the youngest being special needs. In her note she said he wouldn't be able to take care of the kids by himself (assuming she would get jail time). So her logic was to kill him and her youngest then herself.

If you are living with someone long term you can cover them under your health care, you can name anyone the benefactor of your insurance,pension,savings and you can give power of attorney over your health decisions to anyone as well. Sure its easier to not have to individually name benefactors and create a will and power of attorney documents but its doable.
