Women are still expected to take a larger role in the household, pulling down the average of hours worked and pushing women more towards certain careers/limiting promotion options. 1	A legit pussypass denied There is a bit of cause/effect confusion on higher vs lower paying jobs though, programmers used to be mainly women, and as the field became more prestigious, more men took over and wages rose.
