Two couples therapists we saw were discarded (by her) after challenging the situation in ways that reflected positively on me. One after the second session, the other after the eighth. This can't be rare - the therapists must know it, expect it, and think about it before they speak. My individual therapist doesn't challenge me much. I hear ya, and yeah but... I saw what happened when she stopped taking her SSRI, and I felt what happened when I started taking one. It's still not an excuse, but I think of it as context that helped me understand my path forward. Cheating is a red line for me.

not alone at all, buddy. it was contagious, and made me question my own mental health. I thought of her as having it together - it was a preconceived notion from better times that I'd just held on to for too long. I questioned my own mental health for many months - the gray rock technique helped me figure out what was what. Some of it was me tbh.

yeah. like many here, I heard "you're not doing enough" while doing everything. Money, housework, child care, nothing was in balance. It took me way too long to realize it was a mental health issue.

I believe in my case it was a manifestation of her mental health being unwell. The malice I saw and felt was just the tip of her mental health iceberg. Gray rock got me through.
