I have no pill and I just like watching you lot smack-talk each other along gender-lines like you're characters from Last Of The Summer Wine. Also the occasionally interesting sociological insight. Men and women aren't biologically 'equal', but this place seems as likely as any to spark whatever it takes to get men and women to realise we compliment each other and fight the true enemy: Those genderless Squidoid bastards from 55 Cancri. (That's a joke I'm aware of how badly sarcasm translates acr…

Weird way to explain why manners no longer exist, but followable logic, sadly.

Indeed, but it's also something couples should reassess on an ongoing basis.

Aside from thinking waiting months to get intimate is a tad excessive, I as a man feel much like you do. I'm a monogamist. Online dating didn't work for me, at all. TBF it doesn't seem to work for anyone but a tiny few, but it has effectively, along with hashtag-MeToo, destroyed the notion of the real-life 'cold approach'. I hate online dating, but now feel like a creep if I dare make anything but the softest of real-life introductions. Between a rock and a hard place. Especially because in the …

If you think about it historically, it's actually kinda mind-blowing that a two-person household can often barely meet rent/bills, much less buy a home.

Short term "alpha chasing" is immediately gratifying at first, but in the long run like a lot of ideas and things is a recipe for failure. If humanity was better at rational long-term thinking by god would this species be so much better off. No amount of fleeting "Chad" is going to make cold nights as a pensioner any less lonely when it eventually comes. Chad wont be there by your deathbed holding your hand, affirming a human connection that literally takes a lifetime to establish.

Modern Western Feminism seems very much a "have our cake and eat it" philosophy, which like most poorly rationalized positions implodes upon contact with reality.

Dude being anti feminist is just a symptom of spending way too much time in the incel sphere. I literally spend precisely 0% of my time on the "incel sphere", nor do I consider myself an Incel (this would be fundamentally inaccurate). I'm anti-Feminist because like a lot of things I dislike irrational, bigoted exclusionary ideologies, and misandry is up there just as much as genuine racism, homophobia, etc. This is why I have nothing but support for 'Feminists' in genuinely oppressive countries …

Those hard jobs are still around. It's not women going down the mine or out to sea to fish or laying road, etc. Odd that Feminism never really makes any real demand for more women in those sort of foundational areas of work. The civilization-maintaining stuff. That's what bugs a LOT of people about modern Feminism: It's achieved all it's reasonable demands, and seems to just endure to rag on men, and to make unreasonable demands. Men and women compliment each other when we're allowed to. Which i…

Look at Tinder, and the frequent articles lamenting the "lack of good men", a LOT of women certainly think more highly of themselves than reality dictates. Let's be honest, if women really wanted, almost every last woman who wanted a stable marriage could have one if her expectations were a bit more grounded. The modern problem is tyranny of choice. Grass is always greener. That doesn't mean NO choice, it means the options didn't include consequence-free massive promiscuity. It's too easy to mag…

Yeah I felt that post above was sorta worded rather...tellingly. Seemed rather biased. As if the only option is "ugly and lazy" men? Wut? Most men aren't ugly or lazy. Or "losers". For all it's bluster my grandmother and mother seemed largely happy with how their lives turned out. Never hear them lament they never got to pass themselves around and chase the 20% of "chads" with everyone else, nor did they find the notion of long-term monogamous bonding onerous. Seemed an entirely natural thing to…

It's happening today still, which is why the 'woke' upper classes are adamant white privilege exists, because they can't see as plain as day that no working class people don't chose to be poverty-stricken and no their skin colour doesn't give them special powers. Upper-class lensing is really making a dogs-dinner of modern social awareness. There was a time when even the aristocracy couldn't outright avoid witnessing the plight of the less-well-off. It was there in front of them, they relied dir…

It's kind of ironic that human civilization has been all about the division of labour and suddenly, in the domestic sphere, that concept is now frowned upon. I'm not calling for old-fashioned ways of doing it but couples really need to be more mindful and honest about this: Someone should be doing the bulk of the work and the other the chores at home. Unless both are working their asses off and can afford/are fine with hiring outside help. For most couples this isn't realistic, and a big point i…

The men relish seeing a woman who struggles and they wil not give good advice. You sound kinda bitter and generalising. GG. You're the exact thing you claim to oppose. Your attitude aside though at least your core advice isn't trash.

Thanks, I'll remember that the next time I'm thoroughly heart-broken at the end of a relationship where the only real tangible cost to me is her absence. It's totally all the sex I'm sad over and don't spend ages thinking about her smile, or all the other ways she brightened my day while being fully clothed. Thanks for clarifying.

TBH until marriage law is reformed to be reasonable by modern standards, it makes no sense. I want a proper stable long term commitment and even I don't want to get married to just anyone, or even at all. Not because "I'm scared of commitment" but because it's such a legal and financial liability. Which made sense when women relied so much on men's resources, but seems thoroughly insulting and pointless in an age where many women are doing far better than their male counterparts. And the fact ma…

Actually average dude was generally married to an average woman. There might have been a lot wrong with the old system, but broadly ensuring everyone got some stable action in theory pair-bonding wasn't one of them. If you were a a guy working in factory or down mine you were likely marrying someone within your socio-economic bracket and someone of broadly similar appearance. You could broadly rely on the fact she'd be faithful, or certainly have the decency to stick around to help raise what ki…

Yup, it's no surprise marriage, relationships, long term connections, and ironically sex and having kids is in such decline. So much about modern society seems to ultimately conspire to keep people isolated. Fun fact: There's plenty of us guys down for some actual human connections and relationships, I have next to no interest in one night stands. Call me narcissistic if that's what passes for it these days but I want to be more important to someone than as a dildo on legs. Call it weird, but I …

1: Men don't control access to relationships/sex, that is women. By and large men are the ones doing the chasing. 2: Total attempt at a cop-out. "how dare men have far less impersonal stringent standards that comparatively give way WAY more women a chance than vice-versa!". It's not terribly compelling. Men are often the "take what they can get" sex, but to be more accurate, we don't expect you to have a fancy career or a well-paying job or meet all these sorts of peripheral, superficial require…

When guys are whining about gold diggers, alimony, and lazy housewives. because being so overtly gold-digging is to us what being a blatant predatory creep is to women. Show some class. Also Allimony is scummy. And yeah nobody wants a lazy spouse.

is basically a fleshlight with face and boobs attached. What a lovely attitude to take to someone's wife just because she doesn't meet up to one's highfalutin standards. I'll take an honest good reliable woman who "isn't smart", etc, over the greatest-on-paper woman with a toxic attitude.

Not sure it's fair to call women at bars and off of dating sites as 'prostitutes'. Hypergamy verges on looking like a financial transaction for access to sex, but nah I wouldn't go that far.

Fair, although I'm not saying guys don't have standards, otherwise the boogeywoman of the "golddigger" wouldn't be so prevalent. I just thing the male standard is much lower and men generally accept the risk of the woman falling on hard times and even yes requiring his support. I'll say this we're in unprecedented times, and not just because of a virus, so I get men & women are figuring this 'brave new world' as we discover it.

Let's be honest if Feminists had somehow engaged in a uprising for equality, and men were the chauvinistic ogres they're made out to be, the Fem-bellion would have been crushed so hard and fast it'd have been obscene. People can argue about the why but the fact is men DO care about women, whereas men are unfortunately a bit more disposable. biology and evolutionary psychology is a tough master. Which is why a young man will go sit in a trench for years on end (if he's lucky), get maimed to outri…

That's still part of the problem. You can't have female emancipation with the effect that many women functionally do not need men, and then expect men to still have to do all the hard graft. The way you frame it men should still do all the hard work, the pursuing, only to be shot down because the vast bulk of office working, uni educated, well-paid women don't want anything to do with say a vocationally educated, decidedly working-class bloke who pulls in a comfortable but by no means high incom…

Why? To put it in it's least charitable terms, why is a woman's greed then man's problem? "he doesn't earn enough/hasn't got high enough status!" sounds the very fundamentals of a women's problem, when it's women who seem to want high status even when they themselves rely not at all on the financial and social support of a man. If I go fishing and keep throwing fish back because they're not my preferred shape or colour, etc, then that's fundamentally my problem. The sea is full of fish and the w…

Broke men are hurting American women’s marriage prospects I love how that article is titled and framed. I guess men should apologize for unfortunate economic realities largely outside of their control because now entitled women can't get their status-symbol money pinata husbands.

I'm not sure how much of it is even conscious. But the term you're wanting is 'hypergamy'. The phenomenon of women to GENERALLY seek higher status men than their own perceived level, that goes beyond mere aesthetic looks. This just about worked in more conservative gender roles because despite everything else (not saying it wasn't problematic) of the way those systems largely operated and the lack of technology giving people the 'tyranny of choice' or enabling warped self-image, but it has alway…

I've only had one outright 'abusive' ex, plenty of toxic ones, and the only other one I could come close to describing as 'abusive' was more of a gaslighter type, never anything physical, never any outright verbal abuse. I wouldn't say I've experienced many crazy or bonafide abusers, but did seem to have a bad habit of being drawn into relationships with toxic cheats. I can only assume that was as much on me as anything. Not that it condones being toxic or a cheat, but when you notice a pattern …

If there's a long string of 'crazy' and abusive exes, either they're lying or they're a REALLY bad judge of character that places themselves in those situations.

Teach me, master. All I've ever wanted is, if nothing else, amicable break ups, a last pitiful thread of respect. Relationships end, this is an unavoidable fact of life, a break up is sad but can at least have a civil parting. Instead most of my adult break-ups involve being cheated on and generally dropped like used toilet paper. Although saying that my one and only amicable break-up was my last relationship so I think I'm learning, albeit late, slowly and the hard way. Probably as much my faul…

I had a cheating toxic ex who accused me of being abusive in an attempt to get me punted out of my social group so she could take my friends for herself. Fortunately I was lucky in that my friends obviously knew me well enough and could see through her enough to know it was the shitty play it was. I've heard horror stories of guys who suffer way worse for the malice of liars. I wouldn't say I've had many "crazy" exes, just some rather toxic ones. Cheating has been a frequent issue (I'm a shit ju…
