It’s not even the gone wild posts, they seem to be smart enough to usually hide their face and if they get outed I feel like we are fast approaching not caring at all about naked pics. To be fair MD's have a totally different set of rules they play by, once you're an MD you're pretty much untouchable for stuff you do in the hospital. I've personally known nurses who've had surgical tools thrown at them by docs and then instead of going after the doc the hospital will coach the nurse on how to avoid upsetting the doc in the future.

Basically every CNA thinks they are going to nursing school. A few do but those are the ones that became a CNA as part of becoming a nurse. If a person is a CNA for more than 3 or 4 years they will more than likely be a cna forever, but the entire time they will tell everyone that they are in nursing school

It's literally also linked in this thread. It appears that he didn't actually serve the time since it was a suspended sentence. Either way you've posted several times calling me a "fool" for saying this was assault when the guy was literally convicted of assault. So if you really do work in law enforcement you might want to brush up on your use of force training so you don't end up like this guy.

So are we discussing what most cops will do, or are we discussing what is legal? Because legally a cop is not allowed to hit you unless they fear for their safety or it is necessary to handle the arrest. Neither was the case in this situation which is why he was charged.

You're right I"m not armed, which means they should be held to an even higher standard because they have even less fear for their own safety. Also assaulting a nurse and assaulting an officer in my state are literally the same offense (same statute). Cops don't get to beat people just because they are cops.

This isn't even remotely true, if they are in restraints you had better be damn sure of what you're doing before you use more force. If they kick you in the shin while you have them handcuffed and you punch them in the face you are definitely going to jail. The fact that he was convicted of a felony for this proves my point. I seem to recall a case a couple years ago where a guy was accused of rape and expelled. Even after the girl admitted she made it up the university said 0 tolerance and expelled him. I think it ended with him getting a pretty sizable settlement.

As much as I enjoy shit talking to patients if you actually withheld meds because of your personal feelings about them you deserve to lose your license. I'm not one of those "nurses with cards" facebook pussys I'd say it's terribly unprofessional. Just like I think it's terribly unprofessional for a cop to let their personal feelings affect how they enforce laws. Using the power of law based on your own feelings is criminal IMO.

Are you all right? that was exactly my point. I don't know if I like the idea that the cop essentially used the catch all of "public intoxication" as a threat of "do what I say or I'll take you to jail". This kind of discretion is abused constantly and it's why there is so little trust in law enforcement. It essentially comes down to if you piss off a cop you're going to jail.

Technically they can't unless they have reason to believe that you are underage. Whether "you look young" is enough to justify probably cause I do not know. How would you feel if a cop pulled over a person driving and said "you look under 16 so I pulled you over"? I doubt that would fly.

That's kind of my whole point, she wasn't officially arrested for this but it's very common for cops to get pissed when you don't provide them ID and then just arrest you on some random other charge because they want to. Once she is being arrested obviously she shouldn't resist but there needs to be some accountability when a cop arrest people on BS charges for ulterior motives.

This is all fine and good, but there needs to be consequences for a cop who constantly has their cases dismissed. We've all seen the videos where a cop takes someone to jail just because they want to. So essentially it becomes a situation where you annoy a cop and you get to spend the day in jail and pay a few thousand in fees. There needs to be accountability when they fuck up. It's not exactly the same situation but, I had a friend who spent the night in jail and paid about $500 in towing fees…

I have a problem with the concept of "drunk and disorderly" or even "disorderly conduct". They are basically catch all's for a cop when they want to arrest you. There are thousands of videos on YouTube where a cop eggs a person on until they get frustrated and then arrest them for being disorderly. I've seen a few videos where the cop says that disagreeing with a cop or even not answering questions (that they are not obligated to answer) is considered disorderly.

I'm not sure what I think about a cop getting to decide to arrest a person for arguing with them. If she was in the car and not causing trouble until the cop started talking to her I don't think she should get to arrest her for public intoxication. Basically what this came down to is "you annoyed me so you're going to jail" Resisting obviously wasn't smart, but IMO the cop really had no reason to demand ID or arrest her to start with.

Part of the problem is that the term rape has been expanded to include pretty much anything a woman doesn't like.
