The problem I have with that reasoning, is that you can never really tell who is being sincere. Passion and satire can look identical, especially when you are seeing them in a text format on a (relatively) anonymous board.

I see, I think I may have misunderstood which side of the disparages that were being explained. I will keep an open mind about it as I read more, but if I may ask, do you know if these studies address the differences in industry as well? My assumption would be women are more likely to be CEO of company specializing in luxury items, while men are traditionally in more industrial companies (the CEO of Channel would likely be compensated higher than the CEO of a paper company). I'll go ahead and use the source you cited and the quote I pulled from it and I can even pose the question again for you. My understanding is that because women leave the workforce earlier, less of them reach the higher levels, therefore skewing the average with a smaller sample compared to the number of men in similar positions. If this is not the case, then why do women leaving the workforce early cause the the gender pay gap? I'll admit, I am not smart enough to figure that out. But obviously…
