| 1 | In the UK, there is a campaign to ban men's magazines because misogyny. Meanwhile, this is how one of the best-selling women's magazines treats women. I know which one I think is more dangerous.Women's magazines primary market are single, insecure women. How do you hold on to this market? You keep women single and insecure - hence Cosmo style disastrous relationship/sex advice, and body shaming, whilst also including lots of images of the "desirable" women (i.e. the shopped model images). And not forgetting to include at least one "drop 8 dress sizes in 3 days" style diets, so their market have the tools to look like all those beautiful women in their adverts. I think Emma Watson is brilliant, and totally deserves Woman of the Year. But to headline an event intended to celebrate men, with a story of a woman just struck me as a bit unfair.
