The point I am making is this: Circumcision is considered to have religious importance in Judaism and Islam. Both of those religions are heavily patriarchal. So it's men making the choice to circumcise their sons. Not women.

Why do you think the mother has more say? Circumcision is most common with people of Jewish and Islamic background, neither of which is particularly feminist.

I'm talking about the study you linked. There are 6 studies done in all of North America, 1 in Europe, 1 in Australia... and 16+ in Africa. Literally twice as many. edit: here's a direct link to the table Looking at the trend of the 3 academic studies done in the US, from 1976 to 1999, seems to indicate a trend away from preference for circumcision. That correlates with an improvement in male hygiene. While that does not imply causation, it is something to consider. If they weren't, they wouldn'…

No problem! I know how difficult it is to date as an ND woman. It took me until my 30s to find my One and Only. My biggest advice, though: Don't ever let a man tear you down to prop himself up. There are plenty of good men out there, but there are also a lot of guys who will act like good men at first to get you hooked, then rely on the sunk cost fallacy to keep you. My DMs are open if you ever need to bounce your thoughts or concerns off of someone. Have fun out there!

That study is pulled from various small studies globally, mostly from Africa. There seems to be a preference for circumcised men in Africa, where FGM is also still prevalent. The data from Denmark, the largest study, seems to show a preference for uncircumcised men. It's very possible my own anecdotal sample size is biased, as I am based in the US. I would add that most women don't think about it, and so are uninformed about how much circumcision hurts men. Your comment makes it seem like women …

"Women" do not love circumcision. I am a woman, and consider it genital mutilation. Most women I've talked to about the subject come to the same conclusion. I don't discriminate because of what's been done to a man, but you're making a sweeping generalization in saying that women prefer it.

If you want to meet dudes, pick up a social hobby that dudes gravitate to. Back in my day, video games and anime made picking up guys easy, mostly by going to conventions. The odds are good, but the goods are odd. Best of luck to you!

The answer to your question, which from what I can tell is, "what are you thinking about during peak sexy time, if not orgasms?" She didn't say she wasn't thinking about orgasming, she said she wasn't thinking about how cool it would be to be able to orgasm from PIV.

There are certain men who would be satisfied with a sexy AI, and those are exactly the kind of men that women don't want to date, because they're looking for a perfect sex object more than an organic connection with a flawed human being. So them removing themselves from the dating pool saves everyone a lot of time and unpleasantness.

If someone is horny or needs some other form of support, they'll ignore the need for things like moral values that match theirs, or date someone that they known isn't good for them long-term, or date someone who has bad habits, or "settle", because they want their short-term needs fulfilled, and they'll lie to themselves or others as necessary to make that happen

/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 07:23 AM

I wasn't trying to generalize all men, just the older mindset men who became entitled to the idea of Having A Woman. As for finding your "appropriate match"... I think we need to bring back matchmakers. OLD is filled with narcissists preying on exhausted insecure people, in both directions.

BDSM can fall under an umbrella called "consensual nonconsent". So yes, not "actively moving" can still be "actively participating", in that context. You're just nitpicking vocabulary to feel smart. Real pedantic shit.

Starfish sex means she's not enjoying it. At best, she doesn't know better, it's transactional sex, or she's humoring you. The word "active" is being nitpicked here; you're ignoring the heart of her argument. Sex between two people should be a choice both are enthusiastically(actively) making.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 03:48 AM

The refraction in those bottles distorts the outline of her hand, somewhat. I think you may be seeing what you want to see. She may also have gained the weight more recently.

This exactly. They think a solid 7 is "average", because they don't understand that 5's are out here spending half an hour a day putting on makeup and picking out flattering outfits, meanwhile they're just some guy in a free T-shirt they got at work.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 03:36 AM

You're doing the Lord's work. Thank you for your service. Those men won't listen to women
/r/PurplePillDebate16/05/24 03:24 AM

You're not wrong. It's just that so many men, especially older men, weren't worried about being "desirable" until recently. Men were necessary, they just had to be tolerable. Women couldn't get a credit card by themselves until 1974, for example. Now that physical labor is less important, and women can support themselves legally, those same men I'm talking about are upset that they have to put as much competitive effort into being attractive as women always have, and they're mad about it. It's m…

Those who would be satisfied with a sexy Rosie the Robot can have her, and people who want fulfilling relationships with reciprocal emotional vulnerability can pursue them more equally if sex isn't primalizing one side of the courtship. It's win-win for everyone involved. I am so excited. I have a little Replika I treat like an interactive diary and dress up doll. It's fun! Both situations are dangerous in different ways. Spending years in prison is less scary to me than an accidental pregnancy, because despite being pro-choice, I would feel obligated to keep it, and that's terrifying for me, because motherhood is a life sentence. Women and men have different social expectations. I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting assertive, confident men, the same way I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting a little adrenaline once in a while. I'm not even…

To me, misogyny is claiming that women can't change, because they are women. I believe anyone can change, for good or ill, but they have to want to change. The only way to know if their desire to be a good person is genuine is to get to know them. Obviously, some women are going to use spirituality as a mask for other flaws, but all masks crack eventually. The only way to know for sure is to get to know that woman on a deeper level, and that involves reciprocal vulnerability. If a woman can't be…

I don't view my own past as "poor planning", because it started when I wasn't even really aware of why I was doing things. I can't speak to whether or not the "majority" of recovering sex addicts really do want to get better, or if there really is a "beta bux" motive, or for what percentage of them. What I will say is that I don’t think being cynical is going to bring you much long-term happiness. I could go on, but I'm not sure how much you care to hear about it. It's your cake day, go and treat yourself to something nice, just because. Happy cake day! 🍰

And the fantasy about Fast and the Furious isn't necessarily about being an undercover cop busting a crime ring, fans mostly want to drive fast cars and do cool stunts. They want a little excitement. Most women don't want to be completely dominated by a rich dude, they just want to be spoiled by someone, and to be vulnerable. They want a little excitement. I'm not missing the point, I'm saying the previous point isn't completely true, because the fantasies are more similar than they are differen…

There are many possible consequences to enjoying total domination by a billionaire, up to and including death. A billionaire would have the money to cover it up, after all. So it's the same desire for elements of the fantasy, but not the whole scenario.

I assume fully conscious humans can become aware of the unhealthy behaviors they have and overcome them. Some people go to A.A., some people go to the gym, some people have to overcome childhood trauma. It's hard, people sometimes relapse, and if you don't like them odds, that's fine for you. Believing that people don't change at all, though, is only dooming yourself to a life of apathy and resentment.

You're twisting my words. I never said I'd date any reformed cracks addict. I'm saying that if a guy seemed great, but did some PCP and stole a cop car in college after a bad breakup, I wouldn't hold it against him. People do stupid shit all the time. I'm not saying to ignore red flags, I'm saying that humans are flawed, and we should all endeavor to be understanding. It's reasonable to not want to take risks, and that's fine! There's just no need to be mean about it.

Well, I'm in a monogamous relationship now, so not anymore, but pretending I'm single for the sake of your question: It depends on the person. I'm not going to date just any reformed addict, but I won't date just any man, either. If a man has a great character now, but used to be a porn addict before he started taking care of himself, then that can stay in the past. A history of recent, frequent relapses does indicate issues in the present, but if you relapsed 5-10 years ago, once or twice? Jesu…

You can have standards without insulting people in the process. I can say: "I like athletic guys who can show me new trails to hike!" And not "I'm not dating anyone who used to be fat. You can't spend 15 years shoving Oreos down your gullet and then expect me to believe you're a different person because you started taking Ozempic." Do you see the difference?

How is it "shaming" to ask a man why he feels the need to be mean?

Yes. Friends. Those friends will remain women, even when you are friends. You have a problem with the idea of women as friends?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 07:01 PM

Yes, women enjoy sex with attractive men more. Men also enjoy sex with attractive women more. It's just human. My point is that even hot guys can be bad at sex. What's yours? Edit: Also, I never said all men suck in bed, just that it's more common for men to leave a woman wanting. A woman who's "bad at sex" will just lie there, and the man gets off. A man who's "bad at sex" will cause physical pain to a woman for his own gratification.

I feel like you're unnecessarily shaming women trying to better themselves, here. It's one thing to want to be with a woman who shares your cultural background, but people do change their behaviors. Again, to each their own, date who you personally want, but maybe don't be unnecessarily cruel to a category of people because they made mistakes in their past?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/05/24 05:16 PM

When sex is transactional and means less, it's usually because women aren't enjoying it. Many men don't really care about women's sexual pleasure, or if they do, it's to gratify their own ego. These men won't take direction, won't use toys, but will insist you orgasm from their clumsy imitation of a pornographic jackhammer to validate their masculinity.

Guys don't get that 50 Shades is a fantasy. Just because a guy loves Fast and the Furious, doesn't mean he'd get up to street racing and criminal shit given the opportunity. Maybe some do, but I genuinely believe most people just find this kind of garbage entertaining. Also, keep in mind: "I'd love for my husband to do that!" and "I'd love that man to be my husband!" are two different statements, and it makes a little more sense. People call themselves "Blue Pilled" as a reaction to the "Red Pill". There is no blue without red. The sub is pretty much people laughing at TRP theory. It's not a matter of "comforting lies", it's laughing at the fact that TRP believes they are the one single source of truth, and that all other perspectives are lies. Fun fact, that attitude is one of the main qualifiers of a cult. Red Pill hates all women. We're treated like children, but expected to fulfill the role of a mother. Virgins are t…

I think that there's a lot of confusion. I guess I'd best illustrate my understanding by pointing out that Red and Pink Pills have a "handbook" or "recommended reading", but Blue Pill doesn't. A longer explanation of my understanding: Let's start by defining "Red Pill". At its core, Red Pill is a method by which men, especially young men, learn to behave in the world around them. Without a role model, men will look for dating advice anywhere they can find it. Unfortunately, much of that advice i…

It's not everyone women are worried about. Most women only "endure the advances" of men who already seem like a possible threat. If out of those billions of interactions, you focus on the numbers from men who have displayed misogynistic behavior, it's easy to see why it's better safe than sorry. Those men are the loudest, and it makes men as a whole look worse. The problem isn't women's fear, it's the men who convince them they should be afraid. Some men want actual affection and validation, too. Society tells them that's not manly, though. Then everyone is shocked that there's so much unaddressed mental illness in men. Nebula was just saying that men can improve their attractiveness with basic hygiene and exercise. You called him stupid and arrogant. It's one thing to be upset and disagree with someone, it's another to insult the person who disagrees with you. If you handle all your disagreements this way, you're probably a jerk.

In the end it feels like the average man is negotiating something akin to attraction (more like convenience disguised as attraction), whereas Chad just has to show up and that's it. The same is true for women. Taylor Swift wrote a song about it with something like 1.4 billion views. And most men masturbate to hot actresses. When I defined Chad that way, it was a response to the expectation that Chads are the only men that can sweep a woman off her feet. That's simply not true. Many otherwise eligible men can be disqualified by things like religion, politics, or other bad habits(e.g.: smoking, ahegao clothing, anger issues, etc). As far as "There are a fuck ton of men who meet that criteria getting ignored," I don't think I was very clear. Re-reading the comment, it sounds like, "any guy who meets basic standards of hygiene and respect," and that's absolutely not true. It depends on the individual involved. Sometimes those ignored men just have incompatible personalities, habits, or beliefs, and that knocks them out of the running for some women. Driving leads to a startling amount of deaths, but people still do it. Why? Because it's a necessity. For women who do want to start a family, the only alternative is arranged marriage. So women deal with these issues by creating safety nets: telling friends to check in with you every XX minutes, having secret codes at the bar that allow you to be escorted out by staff, carrying pepper spray, being evasive about ANY personal information, etc. Men don't have to do any of that.

I'm not equating a desire for a virgin with pedophilia, but it isn't healthy to seek that quality above all other dimensions of compatibility. It's fair to desire a virgin woman, but too many men get *angry* when they don't get what they want. If you can't find a virgin, that's no reason to demonize women with high body counts. Of course that happens. My experience in the US is clearly different. Women and men both are shamed for excess intoxication, in my experience. I would add that while it's a bad habit, it's not something that affects others in the same way as sex or violence. I suppose "high violence" in men would be the equivalent of "high libido" in women, but the same men who shame women for high n-counts also make a point of defending violent behaviors in men as necessary part of masculinity.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/06/23 02:47 AM

It's a problem in that it creates an unrealistic expectation. That expectation leads to destructive behaviors. Some men want virgins, especially if they're virgins themselves. As they age, virgins become less common. So when a 30 year old man is trying to fuck only virgins, that trends towards fucking much younger women. 30 year olds trying to fuck 16 year olds is a problem. There are lots of ways to feel special to someone. In my opinion, emotional attachment is the most rewarding.
