Same in SF. Was at a gay bar with some friends. It's well into the night so I'm not exactly the most alert person at this point when I decide it's pissing time. Walk into the bathroom at wait for the urinal. Then this girl says in my direction, "it's so much better this way"(or something to that effect, again late and drunk) Without thinking I reply "ya, sure" and then it hits me there's a few women waiting their turn as well. All the bathrooms were public multi-stall gender neutral. I know it l…

Ya, after replying I realized I may have misunderstood your point. That it's not that the crazies are a benefit to the movement, but that the Men's rights movement shouldn't be dismissed, because of the crazies(that as you point out, tend to get called out). As you had said, don't let perfection be the enemy of good.

Eh no, it's hardly as if a push for men's rights started as a movement from neckbeards and incels. I feel like this is the equivalent of trying to paint a group of white supremacists and KKK members as good or acceptable, because "nothing is perfect" and "dissenting opinions are healthy to reasonable discussion" while completely ignoring that some ideas and movements are insane and unconstructive.

Well, just because I expressed the user base as two groups doesn't mean each group is of "one mind." And I while I do think dissenting opinions can be good to combat echo chambers, I don't think neckbeards and incels are the ones people should be pulling from.

Ya, I pop in here from /r/all occasionally and it does seem to be a split subscriber base. One side that actually cares about men's rights and the other being all th neckbeards and incels. It seems like the both just deal with each other.

You know, I wasn't going to respond(why indulge nonsense, you know?), and then I realized something. I never mentioned anything about Democrats or Hillary lol There's got to be some sort of Godwin's Law equivalent to this. Fox's Law: "As an online discussion grows longer in the presence of the right, the probability of a comparison involving Clinton approaches" Thought that was humorous enough to point out.

Thank you for providing an example.

It's a movement that unfortunately gets co-opted by the likes of incles, red pillers, T_D, and the anti-PC guys who look at the most fringe strawman type PC ridiculousness to dismiss the entire concept. So now the other side has perfect examples of "the most fringe strawman type MRA ridiculousness to dismiss the entire concept." It's a lose lose situation where the most idiotic on both sides are the ones being listened to, rather than the more reasonable moderates. Edit: I guess the fringe eleme…

a general statement or concept obtained by inference from specific cases. What definition do you have that states generalizations are absolutes?

Ah yes, only speak on things that apply 100% of the time. Unless it's a constant, don't talk about it.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
