I won't comment any more on your hateful language. You know that you used it and you know why. If you look at larger scale data, such as censuses and Pew surveys available on the Wikipedia page on interracial marriage in the US, you will notice that it varies depending on race. For example, in 2010, 24% of black men married outside their race, while only 9% of black women did. For Asians, the gender pattern is the opposite, 36% of Asian women married outside their race, compared to 17% of Asian …

You may want to read about John Gottman, who's made predicting relationships into a science (he claims 94% accuracy). On his website, the results of his research are summed up as: Happily married couples behave like good friends, and they handle their conflicts in gentle, positive ways. Happily married couples are able to repair negative interactions during an argument, and they are able to process negative emotions fully.

feminism is an umbrella term that has no official leadership or manifesto, so people can have a different understanding of the term. I think you've pretty much answered the question. The best way to think of the question "what is feminism" is to think of it as "what does feminism mean to this person, in this context". Victorian feminism is different to 1960's feminism is different to 2010's feminism. I tend to use feminism to mean "gender equality with a focus on female status". Egalitarianism i…

Largely a social construction, but since childbearing is something that only biologically female people can do, you can bet that femininity is always going to include that and traits associated with it.

Ask anyone who wears alternative fashion. They're well aware that it's not attractive to a lot of people. I expect that several things I do with my clothes and makeup would make me less attractive to some members of the opposite sex, as well as some people in general.

This is exactly what I thought when I read the title. There's not really any such thing as a completely self-made man either.

The method is meeting more women and talking to them. This is why pickup methods work, basically, because they tell men to go out and talk to more women. If you meet enough people, eventually one will want you. There's no such thing. A person would be lucky if 80 out of 100 randomly selected people of the opposite sex wanted to talk to them, let alone fuck them. In my opinion, this is where pickup techniques fall short. There's no one method that will work on everyone (except maybe changing your…

It's a far too extensive subject to assess from a just a few lectures.

You do know that Red Pill is based on (misinterpretations of) evolutionary anthropology, right?

That's a really good question, actually. From what I've seen in my short venture into this dark world, you've got a bloody good point there. I'm a anthropology student, and most of this Red Pill stuff is so bad that it's not even wrong. The best of it is based on sound science that's been misinterpreted or overgeneralised. But we already know that. I think I began replying because I really did think that people were honestly searching for answers, and that I could reduce the flow of bullshit a t…

Congratulations. Now you can stop worrying about our argument.

If anyone's ever believed that sex is never exchanged for anything, then they're wrong whatever side of the argument they take. You're right that I've made some misunderstandings there. I was using the concept of "transactional" in a very narrow way and was ignoring the less literal definitions of "transaction". However, I still don't think it's as one-sided as you describe. Women put time, money, and effort into sexual relationships as well. The average man and the average woman may do it diffe…

I agree that they can be, which is why I was careful to use words like "often" and "not always". It's just that the more transactional sex becomes, the more likely it is that more people will feel ripped off.

Aiming for mutually beneficial relationships is not delusional. You advocate studying the unpleasant aspects of human interaction and using them to manipulate others. If that's not delusional, it's definitely immoral.

And you don't think that at least some do?

It's only based on anecdotal evidence, but my guess is that people base this conclusion on personal experience. People who I would identify as Blue Pill tend to have experienced good sex as a shared experience. When they have had experiences of sex as transactional, it's been observed to have negative outcomes - one or both partners are mistreated, feel unfulfilled, feel used, or something along those lines. I don't think anyone doubts that the transactional model of sex is a reality. The differ…

You don't think that there's discussion going on between the subreddits, then? I suppose it depends on whether you think that arguing against each other's arguments counts as "talking about something with another person or a group of people" (I can cite Merriam-Webster too). What is embarrassing for me is that I'm keeping this silly argument about definitions going.

debating against It is possible to debate for something or against it. /r/thebluepill is for debating against Red Pill philosophies. I think that gives the subreddit a useful purpose. You may disagree.

It's a subreddit for debating against and mocking Red Pill philosophies. A pro-Red-Pill argument there is as welcome as a pro-Christianity argument on /r/atheism.

OP, are you saying that it's wrong to debate something that you disagree with?

Yes, I think so. Now I don't think it's as easy to define what is normal, because human sexuality and gender is so varied and is hugely influenced by culture. Nurture is probably as important as nature, if not more. There are some behaviours that tend to cause harm and are considered wrong in most cultures (incest, pedophilia, infidelity, rape, etc.), and celibacy is relatively accepted and harmless in comparison. So, even if it’s not a majority choice, I’m content that it’s not a harmful choice…

No, I am single by choice. I've had a sexual relationship and didn't find it unpleasant, but it's less important to me than my education, career, and hobbies. I expect I could find a relationship in the future if I wanted to, and I know I'd need to become willing to accommodate someone else's life instead of focusing on my own. But for now, I'm happy how I am. I actually became curious about the sociology of gender and sex because I used to wonder how normal and healthy my disinterest was.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
