Staying is a very meh marriage?Respectfully. We’ve all been burned by divorce and know its consequences because we’re all adults here. The same pattern I keep reading over and over and over again is men stay way longer than is needed as if it’s a some sort of Nobel cause or you’ll be looked at in better light for toughing it out. That philosophy and accountability is usually not the same for women and men are ones who usually get screwed over either way. How many posts do we read where a guy is losing it because he stayed way… | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/07/26 12:01 AM
Staying is a very meh marriage?Does she drive your 10 year old around? I’d go over the Alanon Reddit and lurk a lot and read about your potential future and your kids future. Guy to guy my life got so much better after I separated from my alcoholic ex. I also had issues setting boundaries for myself. If not into Al anon try SMART friends and family Reddit. It’s more of an analytical approach to alcoholism. I was in denial of the problem and minimized it too. Alcoholism is progressive disease and it’s a family disease with gen… | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/07/26 10:35 PM

Title: Married 6 months ago, now I think my wife is a covert narcissist and no one believes me because she’s “the sweetest person.” How did you cope?People that hide who they really are are the most destructive and dangerous. Be careful. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/07/26 04:41 AM
Title: Married 6 months ago, now I think my wife is a covert narcissist and no one believes me because she’s “the sweetest person.” How did you cope?Get out now. 6 months of marriage? It’s nothing. Finish your PhD. and go live life with someone real. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/07/26 04:40 AM
Round & RoundGo to the parental alienation thread for perspective. It’s a lot of venting there but also a good place to see where you are. Also, saddle up and start fighting via the court system if you have to. It’s stressful but the only way manipulators stop is if you fight fire with fire. My kid turned on me hard. It’s the exposure to constant manipulation that worries the most as she gets older. A lot of ex’s all of the sudden become a victim when the marriage breaks down. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/02/26 10:37 AM
If their mom does this, what would you do?You’ve answered your own question. Just stop paying. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/06/25 02:53 AM
As a woman who started following this subreddit 4 years ago…Recommend going on the Parental Alienation thread. I’m sure theres a ton of similarities to your situation there. Also, did you know your husband while he was married to his ex? She either has financial motivation for the divide or she has an axe to grind with you because of timing of your relationship. Good luck. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/06/25 07:24 AM
How the tides have turned...Oh well too bad. Did you reach out to your lawyer and prep them in case she tries to plead poverty and try to squeeze you. Keep your guard up. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/06/25 07:32 AM
Body count? It’s a silly question to ask with age. But inline with your point of someone trying to present themself as someone new today, at a certain age people should know who they are and not constantly morphing. Evolving forward yes. Where there’s smoke there’s fire. If your boundary is her lack of transparency keep it casual. If her boundary is privacy and not having to honestly answer difficult questions then good luck to the next guy that has something serious or long term with her. | 5 | Field Report: The Redhead from the MarketHey thanks for sharing a cool couple of moments you had with the redhead. The thing that caught my attention is you just took a peth test for a reason while going thru a divorce. Then you’re at a bar having a third drink on your story. Good luck man. Savor the little moments of a cool connection. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/04/25 06:16 PM

STBXW says my relationship with my daughters is not normal. Here’s a suggestion. Go to war with her thru your attorney and stop this yesterday. She’s messing with custody and your kids. Money and or control are probably motives. In extreme cases it might be mental illness or a disorder. This is only what you know about and sense. Imagine what she might be saying and doing when you are not around in front of the kids and to others. I’m like you, I like to do things with my kids one on one. I’ve always been that way. I also see your kids need for the socia… | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/04/25 05:30 AM
Divorced and Dealing with the mental illness of my ex and custodyI’m in California. It’s a psychological evaluation. Expensive but worth it. Another bit of advise. It sounds like you are expecting full custody. Be careful with that. You’d be surprised how a partner can easily play the victim card and manipulate the system. Be ready to fight. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/04/25 01:12 PM

Estranged wife says “other parents” don’t want a man in the house during a sleepover.Wow. A real POV shared that was pretty surprising and spot on. Listen to this women. She’s saying something that makes sense. Where there’s smoke there’s fire. Tell your ex. No go on leaving. Sleepovers are for little kids not mommy venting and story telling sessions. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/04/25 05:42 AM
24 M, is marriage worth it?Here’s the deal. Do you have car insurance? Homeowners/renters insurance? Do you feel uncomfortable having that insurance to protect your investments and future in case of a worst case scenario? Of course not. I’m sure your girlfriend feels the same way. It’s the same thing with a prenup. She doesn’t like it? Too bad. It says nothing bad about you or her. It’s like car insurance for unforeseen circumstances. Nothing more nothing less. Protect yourself. Don’t believe me? Read my post history. It’… | /r/Divorce_Men | 28/03/25 07:39 PM

She's (31/F) moving on much quicker than I (37/M) expected and I could really use some general support and advice.Your post seems sincere. You seem genuine. Paragraph 3 stuck out to me. Addiction is scary and I’d assume there’s some more history there we do not know about. It is a good thing that neither one of you do not have kids if you struggle with substance abuse issues. Get clean and stay clean, start over and stop worrying about her moving on. I married someone who hid addiction from me and only found out about it after our first child was born and it was too late. True betrayal to me and our child. … | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/12/24 07:38 AM
Struggling with adult daughter, similar to relationship with ex-wifeNot sure if it’s the right forum for you. Try the parental alienation Reddit. It sheds a lot of light on these types of dynamics that most people don’t understand. Myself included. It has taught me a lot. Keep fighting for your relationship. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/11/24 05:25 AM
Divorce after sobrietyGents. I was on the receiving end of the alcoholic behaviors. Congrats on the sobriety to you all. It really tweaked my mindset and thought process and I will probably never be the same person I was before I married. It goes beyond infidelity and petty squabbles. Addiction is no joke and literally ruined me. I will no longer allow it to mess with me. I discovered alcoholism is usually masked by deeper issues and is only scrapes the surface. Talking about it is helping me recover. Just know it da… | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/11/24 07:01 PM
Alchoholic WifeI’m not a sage and still learning and very new to this. Al-anon has helped me greatly with understanding and sorting the confusion and chaos. Alcoholics are master manipulators drunk or “sober” and while in “recovery”. It becomes hard wired into their brain and personality. Focus on yourself and how you got into this situation and ask yourself where did I allow my boundaries, morals and values to be violated and why. With distance and time apart it becomes more clear. At least for me it has. Now… | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/09/24 04:23 PM

| 6 | How do i navigate through this life dilemma? It’s just a business transaction. So treat it like one. Have insurance for your car? Of course you do. It’s not romantic but neither is divorce. If her family is wealthy then they should gift the BOTH of you an equal amount of your premarital assets. Bring something to the table of life.
