I have empathy for that. Nothing I tell you will fix that, I’m sure you already know all the logistics on worry and anxiety. But I can say, having experienced all that, that it passes… seek out wise people and resources to help. Asking for help is not weak. Google resources in your area, for stroke victims support for example, and get help for your dad first, get that off your shoulders as much as possible so you can take care of yourself.

I have been in a crisis before, myself. I try to remember to just do the next right thing, remember what I should be grateful for, and that when I get to the other side of all of it, I will be relieved and an example to others that they can get through tough situations as well. I don’t know you well enough to objectively say “I can see this, from a different angle, and it’s going to be okay.” I would not do that. This sounds like HELL! I’m sorry you have to go through all of it at once. Your dog…

Grateful that I’m not in crisis mode after the hurricane Helene ripped through the area last Thursday night and Friday. Grateful to have power back, cell service back, and internet as of this afternoon. Grateful I’m not devastated and facing months of recovery at home (my job, that’s different; working for the utility so we will be rebuilding substations, rerouting power systems, unsure how long those efforts will take us). But I was crushed that none of my friends nor family up north even bothe…

Man, I completely intentionally changed my life for the better at age 52. You’re 31. You’re lazy, and you want it handed to you. Change requires WORK! It requires being honest about the opportunities you’re turning down because of whatever bullshit reason you can come up with. Get out of your head, stop saying you can’t do shit, get inspired to be an inspiration for others and go create the life you want! It doesn’t have to look like social media says. It’s your life. But don’t sit here and list…

Many women’s libidos decrease into their 50’s, IMO. Just my experience. Hence I generally date younger women!

You’re on your 30’s, enjoy it while you can.

You might want to try being in a group like EVRYMAN, or perhaps The Mankind Project (not my style, but they are good men helping one another), or MELD (is a split off from EVRYMAN, run by Owen Marcus who’s been doing men’s work for 39 years I think?). I have been part of EVRYMAN for about 5 years now. We do a lot of somatic work, we have great prompts and specific groups, as well as written agreements and structure. I take a lot of notes, and have thought about starting a local group, for which …

I resonate with this! 7-1/2 years ago I pivoted my life from over a decade of drug abuse to being clean, building financial stability, rebuilding my life, relocating, having to find new work and new connections. The first couple years, I was still in survival mode, emotionally triggered and reacting to things - usually with anger, because fear still managed my life. I joined EVRYMAN, I started learning about internal family systems (Sue Johnson), learning about trauma and how to heal (Gabor Maté…

I needed to see this today - thank you! You know, the weekend started strong until I was caught up in questioning my stance on something while having drinks, and allowed myself to be influenced by someone else’s desires and needs. I went with it, being in the moment and being present in the emotions instead of sticking to the stance I already psyched myself up for. I immediately regretted it. Today I realized this person waited for an opening and knowing full well I had already made clear my int…
