To me the main point of seduction/seddit/pua material is a "head fake" to improving my own personal life. I read forums and I go out and talk to people (more specifically women) not because I want to sleep with as many people as possible every day (although who complains about that), but because I want to have a strong "inner game". This book, although not specifically dealing with pick up, builds that inner game. Once you have that inner game down, if picking up women is your goal you'll have n…

Now that you've said the bartender bit I'll never be able to look at a guy wearing a vest the same way again. I think vests can be done casually, but I don't think I would ever go with a black one. I think that does look a little too formal even for me, in which case you might as well be wearing the suit. Heres an example: http://i275.photobucket.com/albums/jj282/1483hm/man%20candy/StarsSetInceptionLosAngeles2MMuG611.jpg

They aren't lines so much as personal beliefs. I Don't rely on lines for anything other than opening. I've had varying degrees of success with those explanations I suppose. The conversation never starts or ends with an explanation of why I'm dressed the way I am. Implying without actually saying that I do professional things during the day seems appealing to a lot of my target demographic, while still maintaining a little mystery. I try to avoid repeated long or fictitious explanations of why I'…

Totally agree with you man. Whether it's guys hatin' on me for looking too damn good or girls seeming intrigued and wanting to find out more about me, when I walk in a room wearing a nice, well-fitting, tailored suit I definitely own the room. It's a total visual opener. Couple that with a good personality and some nice accessories, maybe some tricks ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ntGHTC8Glpc ) and you're definitely the most interesting man in the room.

Probably the most "out of place" I've ever looked was going to a sports bar, I just said I had a plane to catch in the morning and didn't plan on sleeping that night (truth) or that I hadn't changed after [insert activity] I completely agree that a baseball game would be absurd. I only "suit up" when going out to dinner/drinks/meeting someone for whatever reason

As I said, my opinions and practices aren't going to change until it stops working for me. I may get judgmental looks from people, but that's about it. I had an exgirlfriend a few weeks ago come back into town and she was extremely critical. I was wearing a vest. She told me I looked like I was coming from prom, her friends told her I looked "out of place" or something. That's really the only negative feedback I've ever gotten, and she just sounded bitter and unhappy that I looked so damn good. …

Your closet looks identical to mine. I tend to favor black suits, but I wear bright colored shirts underneath.

I've found that KNOWING that the conversation is going towards the "what are you dressed up for" allows me to have more control over the situation. I know what this girl is going to say, so I'm able to have a well crafted response in reply. Usually this response leads into more discussions, preferably about her or why SHE chose to wear a particular thing (necklace, earrings, etc.). I use it to my advantage whenever I can.

Many people do, but they generally keep their opinions to themselves (except on the internet). Anyone who doesn't know me could think I was trying too hard, I can definitely see that, even if it may not be the case. Your input is definitely valid. As far as the shirt, I've found it's actually MUCH harder for me to dress down. Shoes specifically are something I've always struggled with, and perhaps jean cut. I tend to wear cheaper dark jeans (40-70 dollars). I always used to wear bootcut, but lat…

A few short and to-the-point explanations I like to use are: "Look the part be the part." "You never get a second chance to make a first impression" "I'm serious and professional, so I dress the part" "I value myself and the people I see daily" "I just woke up today and had a feeling I might meet someone interesting. Could be you..? What are three interesting things about you that don't involve your job or your physical appearance.."

Have you ever been AMOG'd while wearing a suit? I know I never have. I agree that wearing a suit out to a bar to drink bud light with your buds shows a complete lack of social awareness, but I've found I tend to be a very cocky person. It's a disease. Anyway, the added "judgement" I'm getting from the room is a bit of an ego check, and I think puts me exactly where I need to be. It's never about getting girls to talk to me, the suit is merely a prop, it isn't who I am and it NEVER becomes the ma…

Generally if someone asks I come up with a clever line or backstory on the spot. I'm involved in local politics and plan on going to law school, so I'm not wearing the suit as a means of peacocking, it's usually just carrying over from my day at work. In the environment I live in it more often than not has the benefit of peacocking. I'm dressed well while everyone else is wearing a tshirt and jeans. I've found that "explaining away", when done properly, has helped me build attraction. I always d…

I completely agree. The way I dress and my opinion on the matter isn't going to change based off what Seddit or MFA has to say, they were just very critical of it and I wanted to get some opinions from people whose interests are more in line with my own. I feel and look great in a suit, I've had success with it, and it's easy. I'll occasionally wear some dark jeans and a shirt out (looking for a new pair of casual shoes/boots if anyone has any recommendations ((Don't refer me to the sidebar if t…

I've got the full wardrobe. I don't wear the suit because I have nothing else to wear, simply because it draws attention and... increases my appeal? maybe. http://www.puaking.com/peacocking This guy articulates my opinion fairly well

So what if I have regular venues that I make an appearance at? I'm working in a large town/small city. There's only maybe 5 or 6 bars/clubs I attend regularly. The wedding story is a good one, but can't be repeated often
