Welcome. After you get your feet wet in the gym again, check out the r/nSuns sub. It’s unbeatable for gains but not for a beginner. Diet is pure discipline. Try doing a 7-10 day fast to help reboot your taste buds and develop a positive relationship with food. Then I would highly recommend intermittent fasting for maintenance. Good luck with everything. I clean my house every single day. It’s takes all of 7 minutes and my house perpetually smells of cleaning agents and whatever candle I decide to burn. It’s really not that hard to maintain a clean house without a woman around. They are a net negative in every aspect of life.

The fucked up part is being a “skater” was half the reason she was into me in the beginning of our relationship. As soon as we got married it was no longer fun for her to come watch me skate. Then she started shaming me for having friends and hobbies outside our marriage. It eventually became too much of a hassle to hear the bitching so I just quit doing something I loved before her and still love after her. I regret ever letting that piece of me fade away.

I’m a slim 5’8” so I’d definitely go with a deck that’s less than 8” wide. Stick to the major name brands and you really scant go wrong. Thunder trucks are my favorite. Depends on what kind of skating you want to do. I was always partial to street skating (flip tricks, rail grinds, etc), as opposed to vert or bowl skating. General rule of thumb is the more narrow the board the easier it is to flip. I ride 7.75” decks. My favorite setup is element helium deck, thunder ultralight trucks, Bronson bearings and minilogo wheels. It’s a very subjective sport though. Your best bet is to visit a local skate park and ask some dudes to teach you/let you test some gear.
