The "dunking on" wasn't really important to what I said, but I gotcha. I'll definitly take the time to watch the full interview. I was introduced to Peterson from his Joe Rogan interview and I've seen him make pieces for places like Pragar U, a few other interviews posted to youtube, plus the Peterson v. Slavoj Zizek debate. I know it's kind of a meme at this point, but do you really need to injest all of JP's media before you can criticize him? Overall I don't mind him. I'd love to grab a coffe…

What I'm saying is the pop-feminism you see as dangerous isn't as prevalent as I you seem to think; at least among the people effecting real change. Which makes it about as toothless as it can be. Dunking on some random woman so online people can nod along and say, "modern feminism bad." Seems silly, especially when you consider that both people on stage likely agree on what change they belive in. Arguing whether or not our society qualifies as a patriarchy is semantic; the goal posts are whatev…

That graph shows data from old Raven's Progressive Matrices test. More recent data from this same test shows that over time women improved faster than men till they caught up. The mean is now essentially the same. (IQ ±2 depending on the country) Thats basicly what you would expect from a womens liberation movement right? PS: IQ is dumb if you look at it like an Intelligence Quotient.

So, I'm not trying to pitch feminism as an ideal, instead my point was that feminism is not a monolith. Every feminist you meet will have wildly different views. I've volunteered with Marxist community aid groups and met plenty of feminists from liberal to radical and frankly, I think you've been sold a boogie man. I really encourage you to meet the feminists that are working to accomplish things in your community, instead of listening to random pop-feminists that are paid to debate polemicists.…

Yes! Thats why intersectionality within feminism is so important. There is a really interesting essay called "A Cyborg Manifesto" written by Donna Haraway in 1985. She points out that because women have been integrated into our power structures over the last ~80 years (ie. They can vote, own meaningful capital, and work) feminism must take things like wealth disparity and race into account. Otherwise certain brands of feminism might just work to improve the lives of women by pushing down people …

I find Peterson's argument here to be particularly funny or strange. He's arguing against the idea that there is a patriarchy by pointing to men in dangerous jobs, men in the military, men in prison, while solving these issues are common to feminism. Women working, women in the military, reducing punitive prison sentences all help solve the issues both people are talking about. The whole conversation almost feels... silly.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
