What if I told you not everyone goes to school to get a good job and make a lot of money, but because they want to live a full and enriched life. I feel sorry for Americans who have a huge price tag attached to their education because it gives them a need to quantify their knowledge monetarily. That must really suck. First off, spell her name right, also, no one would hire her because they can't afford her, she's totally freelance at this point and is partially retired. Second, she was professionally trained at the San Francisco Art Institute so I don't get what your point is. Third, I'm talking about commercial photography, not gallery work. So many businesses here do it in house nowadays where people are paid a salary and not by project, and the same goes for studios. Being somewhat disconnected from reality is a good thing, because our reality is sickening, and not in a good way. Being disconnected gives us a fresh perspective on our warped world, and that perspective is valuable in times like this. Also, she didn't get away with it, she got a lot of community service hours.. This incident was pretty minor, no one was badly hurt physically or mentally, especially the black guards, half their job is getting called the N word by drunk, white trash anyways, they're used to it. Also, you don't have to be the best photographer to be a marketable photographer, which is what you'll hopefully learn getting your degree in photography. Go ahead and keep telling yourself that practicing a skill at a university for four years, completing projects for your portfolio, and getting used to feedback and critiques won't improve a skill.
