Here is a twist on the whole earbuds thing. I had a woman I had never seen before ask me "How are you?" at the squat racks at the gym. I said "yeah good", then noticed that she had earbuds in and assumed she was on a Bluetooth call and was not talking to me, so I said no more. However, she also said nothing more, so it turned out she was not on a Bluetooth call and had been talking to me, by which time it was too awkward to bother with.

I live in NSW and have never been to WA. I have heard and read that there seem to be more incidents involving the indigenous there. It is a huge state though with mining towns etc. I particularly remember reading about the cricket bat incident on the beach and the judicial outcome of it and being disappointed.
