Yeah. It gets a bit complex. This is just my opinion so you can refute it. I guess it depends what you mean by "happily go with it" means. I've heard stories of men getting raped while drunk and the woman argued she recieved consent cause he was obviously aroused enough to penetrate her. But I think you mean she gives verbal consent and is active during the process. In that case, I think her argument becomes weak, especially if the man is also drunk and therefore has impaired judgement. These ar…

What is the argument of this post? I don't think it advocates for prenatal care, free daycare services to help single parent households? Seems just to be women perpetuate child abuse more than men full stop.

13 year old gives consent, parents find out, the consent is withdrawn and whoever slept with their child is charged with rape. One or both parties are hammered, either through drugs or alcohol and gives consent. Consent is withdrawn once sober. A superior in a hierarchical organisation uses their power to get consent from their subordinate. Consent is later withdrawn by the subordinate. I think these are the situations that that law is trying to address. And even then, the victim will most likel…

I'm not disputing any of that. But the fantasy that men experiencing sexual assault for the "convenience and amusement of women" is false. And its not gaslighting when I point out that most rape perpetrators are men. also women get raped slightly more than men. The fact the falsely accused tag is so active on this subreddit is even more worrying, considering most sexual assault and rapes are not reported and in the UK a man is 10X more likely to get sexually assaulted than accused of it. I think…

You do know women get sexually assaulted as much as men right? You do know that men also rape young boys right? Your handmaiden comment is just sick. This subreddit has few men's rights Activists. It's now just filled with people looking for someone to justify their sick fantasies of victim hood. There's literally no difference between this and radical misandrist/girl boss feminism.

What is your point exactly? Seems like your suggesting that money is a sentient being and just decided to flow into the pockets of a certain gender and race. Socio-economic and political factors made white men land owners, gave them the right to vote first, increased the wealth of their families pushing them to higher classes. Those factors made men oligarchs. Again, these things are not mutually exclusive. A patriarchy can be an oligarchy.

That is the most positive thing I've heard on the group so far and what I expected Men's Rights to be about. Where can I read more about this IMD Six Pillars? Any good resources?

I know it's useless saying this but the reason more men (and men of a specific race) are in jail has to do with classism and patriarchal stigma. It's easier to control lower classes and society is less lenient on poor men. No one is tossing men in jail so that there are more women available.😒😒.

Yeah. I can't even get to their website to find out about them either. I mean I have no problem with men abstaining from either marriage or non-platonic relationships with women. I doubt most people would mind. But from articles I've read, even freaking Wikipedia says they would usually just devolve into women hating and toxic views.

This was a thoughtful piece. I'm glad you are able to differentiate that there are different schools of thought in feminism and did not just put it all under a single umbrella. Feminism and Misandry are not mutually inclusive. Here in South Africa, there was a MenAreTrash hastag going around, with stories of domestic violence against women and sexual assault stories being attached to it. While the worst if us were more concerned with, "But I'm not trash" rhetoric, there were just as many good me…

Your conflating topics. If you don't want a relationship, don't pursue one. But don't say that you don't want a relationship because women might accuse you of sexual harassment. I'm probably going to get down voted into the stone age for saying this in a group more concerned about blaming women than actually addressing Men's Rights issues but if your approach can be mistaken for harassment, YOU'RE THE PROBLEM NOT THE WOMEN.

I totally agree. That's why I said they've been infiltrated by incels not that Men's Rights Activists are incels. We need groups where we can talk about Men's issues

All your examples are of men's and women's rights in the society they live in. The kind of society effects those rights. That's what feminism is, a focus on womens rights on the bases of equality. I'll concede, I can't simply call the Romam society immoral. You're right on that point.

So China has not alleviated its people from poverty the past 50 years? Blaming wages being low FOR EVERYONE on women entering the workforce is not woman hating? Being proud that you made your mother "dislike" other women is not morally corrupt? It is ugly when people think their prejudices override simple facts and ethics. Do your research and while you're at it, look at what America has done for the last 500 years. Btw, his mother is wrong about men being abused. That doesn't make what he is sa…

I cleaned up my English a bit. I'm saying you're using a strawman fallacy. If I go to a site, scroll through their posts and MOST of them are about women, I can confidently say that the site is talking about women. It might not be accurate but it does not change the fact that most of the subject matter is women. You saying she should count the number of posts not talking about men is silly. I support single men with platonic female friendships. I think it can be healthy. That's basically it

True, I'm glad you did not go the lazy route and just dump the problem on feminism or women. Many of these men don't realise the cost of living has steadily increased for the past 100 years or so. And most job wages have stagnated. So a child is a big financial responsibility. So they may be just choosing their financial wellbeing over having a child, which is the common trend for both men and women in developed countries. As they say in the Great Gatsby, the rich get richer and the poor get chi…

I think most of your examples are issues born of a patriarchal society but also a society that needs to relook at its own morals. What you are doing is called the black and white fallacy. A father having power over his children can both be born from patriarchy (the fact that society is giving specifically a MAN this power) and another underlying moral issue (the fact that society would give ANYONE this power).

The journalist who wrote this has an agenda. She was citing Researcher's findings that single unmarried women were more happy. But the researcher, Dolan, does not have definitive proof of that Experts say — despite Dolan’s cited data — there isn’t any generalization you can make about what situation makes women happier because there is no one-size-fits-all (or even one-size-fits-most) for when it comes to contentment. Though studies do show that most women do become less happy during the course …

True, especially here in Africa. Black gay men or Trans Women (not sure if they're covered in MRA) face prejudice. I think in the male community, those two need support the most. I'm not part of MRS btw. I don't want to advocate for this group as I'm still trying to figure out if they're truly about what they say they are about.

No, you are not. There is plenty examples of this. Even sexual harassment of men is belittled in old media and played up for laughs. I haven't watched it but I guess one needs to understand, just as in real life, when a character is talking out of fear or hurt. She was betrayed by a man and therefore is angry at men. Does she ever pursue a relationship with a man after this?

No, sir, I never said you hated women. I have a suspension that Men's Rights group has been infiltrated by incels. So any group that supports the progress of women, whether good or bad, is seen as doing it at the expense of men. And they use feminism as the umbrella term for this. But very few on this group will admit it

Dude your 15. Is your mother beating you? Have you been abused in a way that she is ignoring it? If no, you really have nothing to complain about. Families and loved ones have differing views on things, even though your mom is obviously wrong about some of her perceptions.

Nice. Teaching your mom to hate women👍 And btw, women should work to survive like any other person. Sounds like your living in a fantasy, most modern households need 2 partners to work. Have you never heard of inflation? Have you heard that wages haven't increased in the past 50 years in America? You really think people are struggling because women hurt mens feelings? Yikes 😯

I don't get it. Does the mom know the son is falsely accused? Or is OP just claiming the son was falsely accused. The likelihood of a woman below the ages of 45 is pretty high. While the likelihood of a man developing prostate cancer only gets significant at the age of 65 or older. Half of the women diagnosed with breast cancer are 45 and younger. It makes sense to pour more resources into the disease that effect more people. The reason it's even as low as it is, considering how many woman it effects is because of the resources being put on it. I think many things can be labeled as double standard outside o…

But I said that they are sending men because they are the best chance they have to win the war. They are not an expendable resource in a war they are a valuable one. Hence its not misandry. The fact that men on average are stronger and more durable than women? The fact that in ancient times, women would not fight in battles as they were childbearers of a society with a high mortality rate and that stereotype might continue today? Equality of opportunity vs Equality of outcome. I don't see any problem with changing the word to a gender neutral term. You'd be better served with starting a campaign to remove whatever stereotypes people have to adopting young vulnerable boys than challenging the change of the term.

I think the down votes were because you might not know what the actual definition of feminism is? Here's the official definition: the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes. Women's rights. So asking a feminist why they talk less about legal rights of fathers to their children is like asking why a Cancer Charity Organisation never donates money to the Diabetes patients. It's not a fair question or statement. A feminist (assuming she is not a heteorphobic misandrist…

I'm not sure what you mean by consulted. If you mean just told. That I can get behind. But if you mean they should have his permission. That's another issue. Because then the woman should have the right to tell the father to get a vasectomy during her pregnancy so that he does not father any more children during her pregnancy. For the financial wellbeing of the child .

I keep repeating that one independent human (the father) should not have any right to tell another independent human (the mother) what to do with their body. However she is carrying his child. That's why it's complex. Then you keep saying, it's not about whether abortion is right or not. Which is not what I'm arguing. So I'm asking what do you mean by the father being involved? You think the father should have a say in the abortion? Or maybe he should just be told about the abortion?

I know. That guy just derailed the conversation. Before I address your points I just want to say: Men, instead of villifying women, it would be more constructive to understand that marriage is also a financial agreement as well as a spiritual one. So you and your potential wife need to talk about finances before marrying. What marriage contract you're entering in, prenuptial agreements and what will happen in the event you are divorced? This is a conversation you MUST have. If she doesn't want to talk don't marry her! You're all grown ass men …

Ah thanks for the link. Seems this woman was a lesbian misandrist. Does not look good that modern feminists don't admit that. But this is still right wing propaganda. This woman and her cohorts don't have the influence necessary to cause what OPs article is suggesting and she is widely rejected by her own organization. Yet the article only quotes her.
