Sure it's natural. So are rape, murder, and cannibalism. Something being natural doesn't mean it's what you should do. You're right about rewards and punishment. But having a stable and loving family is more rewarding than wrecking your home

I find the black-and-white thinking that you (and most of Reddit, tbf) use pretty retarded too. You think that "teaching your kid to wash his dick" just magically means they'll never have a foreskin-related medical problem that circumcision would have prevented? Your worldview would make sense if disabled, mentally handicapped, or immunocompromised people just didn't exist. And if circumcision weren't shown to prevent UTIs in infancy, which can be life-threatening. Fact is for routine circumcisi…

Any PPD question could be answered with "bUt YoUrE nOt GoInG tO dAtE eVeRy PeRsOn On EaRtH sO wHo CaReS??" The specific OP asking any question is going to be irrelevant to 99.999999% of people. No shit. You're not smart for pointing this out, just like you wouldn't be smart for pointing it out on any other thread.

When BMI was invented, the average person was more athletic and muscular than they are today. The myth that any regular strength training invalidates BMI was made up by fat people, for fat people to feel better about themselves. Sure, lifting weights is great for you, everyone should do it, and it does give you more wiggle room for a healthy weight range, but almost nobody is getting an obese BMI just by lifting weights unless they are on heavy steroids or if they were already overweight. I don'…

Delusional. You think nobody could see your thighs or something? Just because nobody said you were overwheight doesn't mean that you weren't. You're right, though, a lot of people (like you) don't know what a normal weight looks like because obesity is so common now.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/09/23 08:02 AM

No you don't lol, you just know some fat people who may or may not lift weights occasionally, and you live in an obese world so you don't know what an actual lean, muscular body looks like.

Why do you think your idiocy matters enough to affect anyone's mood? Saying "u/Eternal-Argument is doing dumb shit again" is just like saying "it's partly cloudy out today". Nobody cares that much, it's just a casual observation.

It is also a benefit for the child to know the biological father for purposes of healthcare and treatments that require some kind of tissue or organ donation. This is a wacky argument. How often is a father donating an organ to a child? Extremely rare. This also requires certain antibody testing, not paternity testing. Even if you know who the father is, compatibility tests would need to be done anyway. Any transplant specialist would laugh at you for suggesting that this is a good reason to pat…

Right, and the woman counterpart in this whole hypothetical exercise doesn't just want a man who's 1 inch taller, they want a man who's 6' even if they're 5'. I don't even agree that 20 year age gaps are ever a good idea, but it's a fairly straightforward analogy that you're not fully connecting here.

Without the euphoria that you're biologically programmed to feel during sex, you probably would have no interest in it. What is your point here? Without having your hunger satiated when you eat, you probably would have no interest in food. So why even eat? Let's just put starvation to the side for a second and look at it objectively. If it weren't for that pesky biological programming that makes you get tired, you probably wouldn't need to sleep. So what's the point in sleeping? Without stimulat…

Woah, cool seeing how trashy someone can be! Tax funded committees address problems of historic inequity Literally how you worded it. Tax funded committees address problems of historic inequity caused by prior government laws and restrictions I take issue with your idea that "historic inequity" is a problem that needs to be "addressed" with the boatloads of taxes I pay the government. We can't change past history. There will always be "historic inequity". No matter how much of the money I earned the government takes, there will always be a history of inequity. That cancelled out for everything else that could improve perceived confidence? This is such a lazy comment, and I see Redditors make it all the time. Every study explains how they controlled for possible confounding factors. Yet Redditors see this as some "gotcha" as though this isn't the first thing researchers do. Redditors say this no matter what study they are talking about - they don't know anything about research, so they assume nobody else does either, and make this comment which amounts…

Doesn't sound like you did very good research. I bet you can't even explain how the studies you read defined "promiscuity" and I am sure you could neither explain how they defined "pair bonding" nor the methods they used to determine that it was "destroyed". Be honest. You read a blog that maybe had a link to the study that you didn't really understand, but it seemed to agree with your opinion. These types of arguments really only seem to exist on reddit. If you want to see reality, go to Walmart and see the couples walking around. To be fair, the only times I see comments like "200k is middle class", it is on FDS or dating subs and it's always been a woman who doesn't earn 200k, but thinks it should be easy enough for a man to earn well over 200k to provide the lifestyle that she either grew up with or suddenly decided she deserves.

Every single statistic points towards your claims of making 400 to 500k at 26 in medicine as a big fat lie. But I’ll take your word for it. Show me where I said this? I said you can become a doctor at 26 if you go straight through. You're still a resident making 50ish for 3-7 years, except you may be able to moonlight after your first year and make up to 50-75 more annually if you're willing to have no life at all. I said the actual money can come at age 29 (if it's a 3 year residency, which is …

There's not really a defined endpoint. Being and staying in good shape is a lifelong effort. How you set your goals are up to you. 15% body fat is a good long term goal. You can shoot a little lower if you want an impressive physique. 20% is probably not a good long term goal if you are trying to be in shape. Or instead of bf% you can shoot for a weight of 185 which will put you at a healthier weight range. You're also not going to look very muscular by just doing calisthenics, but I assume you …

if you use a scale that differentiates between Brie Larson and Adriana Lima in her prime If by "differentiate" you mean the tell a 9 from a 7, sure. Brie is not the type I go after at all, but it's hard for me how see anyone giving her a 6 in good faith. A 1 to 10 scale is meant for a population. In the dating realm we're usually talking about younger people, so if you only want to include people under 35, or under 30 that's fine. I guess you could use "celebrities" as your "population", but the…

A psychiatrist calling patients "low class"? Where did he say that? He said "low social status" which I would assume has a closer meaning to "lower class" or "low SES" rather than "low class". FDS always used "low value" and this has its own meaning which was different from the concept of class or socioeconomic status. OP may be conflating these terms but he did not call anyone low class. He didn't rant about how any of his patients were little shits. He said most of them are low social status. That's a bisexual woman commenting, not a straight woman. She also mentioned male attention (having them buy drinks) as one of the reasons for it, supporting OP's point. Maybe some straight women do it for the other reasons she said? That's definitely not the end of it though. Some "straight" woman I've seen do it identify as straight but are really probably somewhere on the spectrum between straight and bi. And then some straight women are just people pleasers and go along with it.

181 lbs of lean mass. Sure, and if you try and lose weight, you're gonna lose some of that lean mass too. You having 181 lbs of lean mass does not in any way discredit BMI. You know who else has large amounts of lean mass? Morbidly obese people. The poundage of lean body weight doesn't mean much.

6'1 220lb and 10% bodyfat is an extreme build that is difficult to maintain without steroids. That is in no way relevant to the general population. There's nothing wrong with BMI. It's a formula that can place the vast majority of people into reasonable categories. Saying BMI is inaccurate because some bodybuilders might be called overweight is like saying the rulers by where they take mugshots of people in jail are useless because they only go between 4 and 7 feet. You shouldn't conflate MD with status as though it is the same thing. MD is a degree. Physician is a job title. And a big part of that job is placing orders, which are supposed to be carried out by nurses. An MD may confer status to an extent, but I think your example just shows nurses and doctors doing their jobs.

not all women are hot or not all women are identical or maybe even that not all hot women are identical. So many people missing the point. Nobody is saying all women prefer it. Why would you think that? These are high standards, but realistic. If someone is successful enough to make six figures, which a lot of people are, they are probably intelligent, can hold a conversation, are knowledgeable about at least one topic and meet a lot of the other traits. You are not going to be obese or majorly overweight without having a lot of excess fat unless you're juicing. If you're young and active you may be borderline obese by bmi and still have a defined rectus. Chances are you have more visceral fat than you need, and that's probably not healthy. Can you kindly point to where I said every woman was a trad wife? Pretty sure I didn't. Anyone can be a trad wife or trad husband if they choose. I've been in a few multi-year relationships and never had a woman show any signs of declining libido. The two times I ended an LTR, the gf new I was distancing myself and they tried to initiate more and more to compensate. I never had a side chick, so clearly that's not the "only solution" lmao

Obviously an upclose wide angled mugshot is gonna be unattractive/unflattering for anyone Yet tons of dudes have them on their profiles so I don't see how they aren't relevant examples

And you think men don't either? I never said that. I've been there. Both genders make dogshit choices when it comes to dating and if you're smart you learn from them.

Women would prefer for men to make SUB-OPTIMAL dating choices that ONLY benefits them but RARELY do the same for men Women fall into dead-end, abusive relationships all the time. Your post focuses on FWB situations, where there is a double standard, but I wouldn't generalize it to say that women rarely make sub-optimal dating choices in general. The reason there is such a double standard when it comes to casual/FWB is there is a stigma against male sexuality in general.

Really? I guess I live in a LCOL area but the ladies at my workplace all go to the same place for their nails and say it's 50-60 bucks, and they look professionally done (as far as my male eyes can tell). I'll admit to not knowing first hand how much the "sexy vaginal" stuff costs, I just googled it and it said 60 to 70 dollars lmao

So many questions. 100-120 for eyelashes? Over 60 for nails? Are all these monthly expenses? And why are you including contacts, which are basically medical devices? Glasses are perfectly fine by most men. Most men are also A-OK with you doing your own eyelashes. And a vagacial... how is it costing you that much? Are you in NYC or somewhere outrageously expensive? What happened to just good general hygiene habits for your bits? I'm not worried about you being able to find a man. I don't blame yo…

This is fun! Not have sex with Unattractive. Sketchy. Drug addict. Obese or significantly overweight. Greater than 6 year age gap. Only have sex with Not intelligent. Doesn't have their life together, or a clear path to get it together. Entitled personality, or if our personalities otherwise don't mesh great. Emotionally distant. Could be mildly overweight only if active, still attractive. May tolerate occasional drug use. History of cheating. 5-6 year age gap. Have sex with AND commit to Attrac…

Just follow FDS for a week. Or it might be in their "handbook", idk. I promise it won't corrupt you, you'll learn about their mindset and most importantly there are plenty of lulz to be had. But seriously, I already gave you two traits in the comment you're responding to. They attribute loyalty (e.g. never cheating, supporting your partner through health problems), and generosity (i.e. gladly spend everything on your partner without expecting anything in return) to HVMs. Other traits mentioned a…

the logic that they use is honestly terrible. They argue that women decide whose genes go into the next generation I follow FDS (opposition research) but rarely see this type of argument. The pervasive argument is that it is better to be single because being with an LVM puts a woman at risk of abuse, running into a dead-end relationship, falling behind in achieving life goals, and as far as parenthood is concerned, raising children in a neglectful or abusive household. This serves a warning to w…

So basically you are claiming that women should stay home only if the man provides a lifestyle that top celebs enjoy WTF where did you get this part from?

Speaking for the other guy, but I imagine the point is that women (on Reddit) often using the gender pay gap to rationalize the man paying for all dates, or paying more to maintain the household. However, there is some evidence that in the younger age bracket (presumably including many of those same women on Reddit), women actually earn more on average. So you can't logically use the gender pay gap to rationalize the argument that men should pay more.

both cook and do the dishes afterwards, both work, both look out for the children.. That's the point. Both partners do what they can to support the relationship because they want to. Also, cooking and cleaning can be done together, meaning things go much faster and you enjoy the other person's company. Obviously you have to deal with logistics issues. You can't have both people cook every night if someone has to work late. The point isn't to add up to 200%, the point is both people contribute 10…

It matters. The real formula is: annual income + max bench must be equal to or greater than 300. Otherwise it's game over.

You asked for a citation that showed a likely increase in birth defects with increasing paternal age. You got one. Nobody said it was higher than 0.5%. Use your brain. What percentage of kids do you see walking around with birth defects altogether? And while you are using your brain, learn how to interpret a scientific paper. You are picking out minimally relevant parts and trying to create drama out of them. It's embarrassing.

I'm on your side of this one, but schizophrenia is not as simple as just a birth defect.

Those aren't average faces lol. They take the average of each feature, so that any unique flaw is averaged out. So they have no standout attractive features but no flaws, which is why they kinda all look the same. The average person will have flaws.
