I think movies would be better for men if they were a lot more diverseIf it works for that specific script without being forced (organic diversity) I absolutely agree. It's when its forced it becomes problematic. Especially if it disrespects an actual story or a character based on an actual person. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 25/07/23 01:25 PM
I think movies would be better for men if they were a lot more diverseI'm open to hearing you explain your point, but you haven't explained it or supported it at all. I'm not saying you're wrong, just interested in hearing why you think the way you do! :) Could je a honest opinion/preference or simply an over-correction. It's be interesting to see it expanded! | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 25/07/23 01:20 PM
I think movies would be better for men if they were a lot more diverseI know what you're talking about, but you haven't given a single reason why diversity makes a movie better, other than "being progressive". Squid Game is one of the most popular productions in recent history. It's also one of the least diverse productions you can find. Did you find that bland and problematic as well? | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 25/07/23 01:17 PM
I think movies would be better for men if they were a lot more diverse"Men, men, men" is a pretty good summary of the cast for that movie. And it wouldn't have been any better by adding more characters to fill some sort of quota. If anything it would have made it worse. And see, right here is where you lose me. "Being progressive" shouldn't be a factor in making a good movie. Because then you are, as I said, talking about filling quotas. By using "progressive" as a marker it just shows that you're dishonest in how you represent your views in your original post. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 25/07/23 01:13 PM
I think movies would be better for men if they were a lot more diverseSo when you watch Full Metal Jacket your take on it is that it's bland? Can't say I agree with you on this one. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 25/07/23 01:04 PM
