You're proposing then that the more equality-friendly option is to let anyone--yes, in this case a woman--defend themselves when they're placed, as the picture states, 'in harm's way'? It seems to me that the man in the picture is trying to show that despite living in the alleged 'rape capital of America' there are in fact men who can be respectful to women in his city. 1	Future mother-in-law is a feminist who says her daughter shouldn't change her name. Reddit, what do you think? Not going to throw out a word like 'patriarchy' but the notion of a woman taking her husband's name is kind of antiquated, and she can do what she wants. 1	Is this subreddit misogynistic? The answer is sometimes. In a forum discussing the advocacy of the rights of men there's always going to be some people who are advocating for male superiority instead of gender equality, just like in the context of feminism there's people arguing in favor of female superiority instead of gender equality. And in the context of everything there's some people who argue in favor of the extremes because they feel particularly strongly one way or the other.
