I don’t entirely disagree with what you’re saying, but I think there’s an order of operations to it. I have to fully come to terms with my weaknesses so I stop letting them hold me back, then I can work on becoming confident in my strengths. Now, from what people are telling me, I’m doing better at coming to terms with my shortcomings than I thought I was. But coming to terms with it and accepting that I do have a disadvantage in the physical department (without lingering resentment) seems like …

That… is actually a really good way to think about it. If I can come to terms with my reality, I can come to terms with the fact that my emotions are part of that reality. It’s a thin line, accepting the emotions for what they are vs. accepting the emotions as correct, but that’s definitely something I’ll try.

Never been on the apps (I know what that would do to my mental health and I don’t want to touch that with mile long stick) And I’m 2nd gen Chinese so “back home” doesn’t exactly apply but it’s worth a consideration. The big one is I’m curious about is why stop asking women for advice (bearing of course having a solid platonic friendship with them already)? I assume realistic opinions can only be helpful?

Chinese, no, and 24. And yeah, even general “short” advice tends to lean towards 5’4-5’7. There is a reality to the fact that even when women say they don’t care about height and mean it, they’d still heavily lean towards someone at least taller than they are. I’m more concerned about mentality advice (as I mentioned, not growing resentful over the fact that I will undoubtedly struggle to find a relationship, rather than advice about getting into one). Both are welcome of course.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
