Unfortunately that’s the nature of change. It’s granular, it takes a lot of work. There are no quick fixes. Anyone who says otherwise is trying to tell you something. A little over a year ago I lost everything, I was homeless, alone and was in the same dark pit of despair you’re in now and it took a lot of digging and clawing my way out to get to where I am now. A lot of it came down to self-care, self improvement and therapy. Now I have it better than I ever did. It might sound cliche but it’s …

You can’t… you essentially have to keep trying until you feel you have found the right one. You can expedite it somewhat by avoiding therapists who cross the line or show red flags as bad therapists do that pretty quickly IME. It isn’t fair, it’s frustrating but there’s no other way unless someone recommends an amazing therapist to you.

When you find the right therapist, they can make sense of everything you “dump at them,” give you guidance and real practical steps to improve your station in life.

That’s why it’s imperative you get quality therapy as soon as you can. The longer you’re in a funk where you don’t enjoy anything, the harder is to find the motivation for self care. I have definitely been where you are. You will start looking forward to and enjoying things again, it does take some healing and psychological work to get there though. Again, I wouldn’t even consider dating until you’re in a better place mentally.

Getting quality therapy should be your priority. In the meantime, self care, making sure you’re in a good environment, eating and sleeping well, that you have enriching hobbies and interests that you enjoy spending your time on, maintaining a social life, catching up with friends/family. Looking after yourself and ensuring your needs are met physically, mentally and psychologically.

While they can be rewarding, relationships require consistent effort and upkeep to maintain. It isn’t a bad thing. I find it entirely worth it being with someone so compatible with me and so loving and supportive. You just can’t get by with your mind still in “single guy mode” so you need to understand what’s required of you in a relationship so you really know that you are mentally ready to form and sustain one. At the very least, it involves a lot of listening, being able to take decisive acti…

…women don’t want to hear that you’ve already planned your life out that far and put the cart before the horse to the extent you’re already thinking about kids before you even know if you’re going to end up together or not. You can ask early in the relationship but there has to be a relationship first. Most women will not be pleased to know your interest in them entirely depends on whether she’s willing to give you children if you want them. If you have devised some way to broach the subject imm…

Women aren’t evil monsters who will all reject you out of hand for having symptoms of autism. If you can be a presence they can feel safe and comfortable around (which isn’t hard if you have any consideration for other people,) you will find someone who will take it in stride. It’s best to just not mention kids whatsoever at any point on a first date 😆. Save it for when you’re in a relationship. That guy was such a douchebag, went on and on about wanting kids to “preserve his legacy” when he doe…

Not at all. My girlfriend is legitimately the very warmest, most generously affectionate, sweet, caring person I have ever known (plus she’s stunningly gorgeous). There’s no way I would have earned her trust and love believing that “being warm and kind is unattractive” nonsense and hadn’t shown her love, care, kindness, proved to her she is always safe around me. She does not care for mind games whatsoever, would see right through pretending to be “cold” to “pique her curiosity and interest” or …

Hell no. No sales. No money. No useless “just shower and go to the gym bro” advice. I just want to help steer more lonely, depressed men to the right path. I would rather use all my knowledge and experience to help people than let potentially good men get lost to the absolute toxic influence of incel groups. I just want a chance to talk to you, for you to listen to me and I will give you real, practical advice on precisely what to do to make the right changes in your life. Not just so you can “g…

It doesn’t have to be, it’s besides the point. It’s just not a good idea and trust me, women can absolutely read vibes and sense any miserable or depressed energy you put out. While they may be very empathetic to it within a relationship if they notice it occasionally, it definitely factors in to not making a great first impression. Your state of mind influences your behaviour more than you know. If you’re still making all the mistakes you were making when you were allegedly “happy” and still ge…

You’re absolutely right. I did not even consider dating again until I knew I was healed enough to not bring my new partner down and I didn’t have baggage she was going to step right into. Being miserable, counting on a relationship to make you happy isn’t the way to go. A relationship is only as happy as the least happy person in it, it’s just asking for serious problems to saddle a person with your entire state of mind. You owe it to yourself and your potential partner to be able to generate co…

You can. You just clearly aren’t remotely ready to be dating right now. It’s not fair on anyone, especially not yourself to just “give up on being a good person” over one shitty therapist and a few underwhelming first dates. Not if you truly are a good person anyway. It took me 15 tries to find a really good therapist who isn’t either a power tripping dick or woefully unqualified to help me. Remarkably similar to dating, finding an ideal therapist and meaningful therapy requires patience, persis…

I really think you need to give dating a break until you find a really good therapist and do some healing. Therapy is a minefield, similar to dating where you can expect a few misfires until you find someone “special” (ie who cares about their job, wants to help and not just power trip and has the means and experience to really help you.) In early 2025, my fiancée of nearly 8 years broke my heart, absolutely destroyed me and I was left homeless, alone with my life in tatters. I was admitted to h…

Not a chance. If I’ve managed to avoid it, anyone who hasn’t is barely cut out for life, let alone one without loneliness.

I’ve noticed the reason the philosophy is so attractive to insecure men is that it puts the blame for their perceived failures in life (being sexually active, having a partner, having any romantic connection) on a tangible external force (modern feEeMalEs, society etc) to avoid having to lool inwards and address their flaws. They usually feel vindicated like “finally, someone who gets it! it’s not my fault!”

Of course they’re using blackpill as a cope. Anything to avoid any introspection, personality defections and all the disgustingly offputting behaviour they exhibit. Same reason conspiracy theories are so popular with that crowd. “I knew all my life problems weren’t remotely my fault!” Them going “reee cope!” When we say blackpill doesn’t exist doesn’t make any sense. We don’t use cope for things that literally aren’t our problem. Whether we’re right or “too attractive to care,” I couldn’t give a…

This. My partner and even my ex partner of 7 years both approached me just as much as I did them, were equally as proactive in regards to wanting to form and maintain a relationship so identity politics, who is “normally expected” to do what doesn’t feel like it applies and couldn’t matter less to me. Both genders are made of individuals, no two people believe the same things or behave the same way. Being able to create contentment in your life and never giving up hope on finding “the one” if yo…

I work out, he is in my band as guitarist and with my commercial studio opening and looking to get back on stage, I really hope he can use music as an outlet and reignite that passion he did so well at before. I am definitely urging him to stay away from dating apps, social media especially facebook with the glut of sponsored posts of this nature and look At getting therapy.

My (35M) friend (33M) is beginning to lapse into mysogyny that should be beneath him after a breakup. How to discourage my friend from the misogyny he is beginning to indulge in after breakup? Myself and a close friend of mine had really ugly, heartbreaking breakups at the beginning of the year. We have both dealt with it in very different ways. I rebuilt my life, worked very hard on my mental health, becoming the very best I can be and along the way, I met my current partner who is the very swe…

Oh, the SO isn't hypothetical, I just mean the future as I'm not psychic, but for the sake of argument, from now til then, no infidelity occurs and either by natural causes or a car accident, we both die together. Did I transcend the whole "turn" idea, or did I simply have the longest and final turn?
/r/TheRedPill04/06/18 07:07 PM

I don't think that's a very good example. People in general don't want to hear your life story early in the relationship. That ought to be the takeaway from this. My SO told me earlier on that guys couldn't help spill their guts about the most fucked up parts of their lives before it made sense to, including child sexual abuse and it made her uncomfortable. We share a lot of things but we've been together a long time. I didn't get into very much of that until it was appropriate and we have a goo…

Quick question, no flames. Let's say hypothetically my SO and I die while together whether 7 or 40 years from now. Does that mean I got the longest and final "turn?"

If it works, it works and no one can argue with that. I'd find it pretty annoying if someone kept asking me if I was okay every 5 minutes.

It could be as simple as there being enough guys in the world who lift approaching women that it's just not very impressive, therefore to stand out, you need something else to stand out from them. When everyone is working on having the good physique, the charismatic ones with awesome talents, who are good at holding interesting conversations on top of that will stand out among the ones who don't.

I've never once in my life asked a woman "is that okay?/do I have your consent/are you comfortable with this?" yet I've never been accused of sexual assault. The idea that "enthusiastic consent", same with enjoyment, can't be implied or inferred with nonverbal cues is just silly to anyone with average sexual experience and the people who push for it are either well meaning but ultimately delusional and inexperienced, or being deliberately dishonest. You don't have to make a woman cringe and dry …

I wonder what this sub makes of a frustrating predicament I'm in regarding mental health which relates to this subject. I find it difficult to relate to other people with similar mental health issues to me because many of them use it as an excuse for why they aren't getting anywhere. I've busted my ass my whole life to make sure I got where I am. I get sick of hearing their excuses and the assumption that I must be okay just because I have a lot to show for all that work both from those people (…

I'm not a fan of this sub generally but I am glad you made this. I couldn't agree more about people shitting on tinder. It's not the apps fault if your bio and photos are not up to scratch and have no success. I met my wifey on there and had a great time with it before that too. Do you know how difficult and traumatic rape cases are even if you go straight to the police and the best possible outcome happens? Some people just don't want to deal with that and I can't blame them.
