Living with a partner is not a permanent state, though. I imagine there are lots of women (and men) who are living with a partner at 30 but might be single or living with a different partner at 33.

You misunderstood my point. You can raise your daughter with whatever values you see fit. For instance, I was raised to be modest, to be careful and practical about sex, and that it was essential to get a degree and go to college. And therefore, I have never sent a nude and I make good money at my decidedly-non-sexy job. But I was also raised to reserve judgement about others, respect differences. to be kind and thoughtful in my communication, and to give people the benefit of the doubt. These s…

You really feel like an adult film star thinks their body count is the thing that is going to damage their reputation? This is silly. Again, you’re making generalizations about the population based on porn stars who go on a red pill podcast. If you really had nothing to hide, your username would be your first and last name. It’s ok to say that some things might not be for broadcast even if they’re not shameful.

You really don’t think there’s a difference between any of these? disclose personal information to a survey taker disclose personal information to friends disclose personal information to an acquaintance disclose personal information to thousands of people who believe your personal worth is directly tied to that personal information? It’s like if I said “you told your buddies how big your dick is, why are you so shy about putting it on a billboard in your hometown?” Or “your wife knows how much …

Yeah, I’ve seen the Whatever podcast. If I was going on a podcast where i was being broadcast to an audience of red pill dudes who are going to call me a liar if I say less than five and call me a whore if I say more than five, I wouldn’t be super-eager to say it either. But also this is like saying “the most common career for women is club promotion. Source: Fresh + Fit”.

My issue is that you said “most women are having sex with 10+ men every year” on a thread about a study. If someone doesn’t click the study, they might take your comment to be an accurate representation of the findings. It’s totally valid to question things like sample size, respondents’ locations, etc. Studies are not infallible or without limitations. But your first two comments didn’t say that; you just made estimations are based on your feelings and presented them as accurate. That’s what I’…

Ah, yes. The American Pie 2 School of Data Analysis. Even if we do that, 90% of the women in the 2022 data set said between 0-3, so therefore 90% would be under your “10+ per year” estimation. It’s pretty amazing that when your preconceived notions contradict with the reporting, you just say “well they must be lying” instead of even considering your view might not be accurate.

I never said either of those things. Maybe you’re mixing me up with someone else? If not, you need to do some work on your reading comprehension before we can continue this conversation. Best of luck with that!

Wait, so now you’re saying that “women” and “whores” are mutually exclusive categories? That’s a totally new axiom to contend with. To rewind a bit: are you saying that most women would approve of “labeling a nut rag what it is”? Because that’s the implication from my comment that you originally took issue with.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/23 04:41 PM

No, I was implying that calling women “whores” on the Internet is something that—I would guess—most women would not feel positive about. With all the extrapolating you’re doing on my positions, it appears that you’re the one who’s triggered.

Im actually curious about what would happen if you shared this comment thread with the mother of your child. Do you think she’d be impressed and in agreement with you calling women online “whores”? (Maybe she would be! There are lots of types of people in the world.)

What do you mean by “dating” here? The term is used as a catch-all. A guy might have 10 girls he’s talking to and taking out on dates, but “dating” can also refer to when you’re in a more committed relationship. Surely he’s not meeting 10 girls’ parents or calling 10 girls his girlfriend.

I’m a woman who at one point lost about 70 pounds, changing myself from unattractive to more attractive (though never a “bombshell”). While losing weight had lots of benefits, the increase in unsolicited male attention was not one of them. In that way, I preferred being invisible.

Ok, so you don’t disagree with me. I’ll agree that it’s possible there are women out there who value their man’s physique above all else. Do you think it’s more prevalent, on average, that men value youth above all else, or women value muscles above all else?

I’m not saying it’s better, I’m saying it’s a different statistic than what you presented. I never said that every time a woman wants a divorce, it’s because of cheating. I said that a woman prompting a divorce could be the result of a man cheating. You brought up the 80% stat (which is actually 68%) to counter my claim that men sometimes leave older women for younger women. My counter is that the 80% (actually 68%) could very well include my scenario. All of this is drifting away from my origin…

If you’re citing the study I think you are: I’ve looked at it. It’s not a filing rate. It’s a self-report of “which partner wanted the divorce more?” Which could still indicate a cheating husband who doesn’t necessarily want to divorce. (It’s also a pretty small sample and only tracks couples for 5-6 years if I recall correctly.) if you’re thinking of another study, feel free to share it. But you can be cheated on with a younger woman without being divorced. Are you saying that married men havin…

Exactly. When youth is the trump card for desirability, what choice do women have? Women who settle down early, have kids, and devote their lives to domesticity have many times been left for a “younger woman” once they age. It’s the cautionary tale of the previous generation that inspired this generation to go to college, hold off on kids, and make their own money. If you don’t choose the path of settling down with a man at 20, you’re still bound to be seen as less desirable at 30, but at least …

On the “corporate CEO girl boss” note, I’ve been noticing pretty pronounced changes in the last few years when it comes to women in the workplace. I currently work at a very high-profile, modern company. (For context, previously I’ve worked at a huge old-school company, a tiny startup, and a mid-size modern company, so my experience is varied). The four managers above me at my current work (i.e. my boss, her boss, her boss, etc) are women who are married and 3/4 have kids. They talk about their …

The whole “at their mental level” thing is absurd to me because a) I can think of several different men I’ve known who could not or would not do basic household upkeep, to their own detriment; and b) I know many well-educated, intelligent, gainfully employed women who know how to maintain their home. (I personally think it’s easier for women because girls are taught—encouraged to “play house” from when they’re young and generally responsible for more “home making” chores than boys—not because th…

The women I know all keep calendars (and by that I mean use their phones or a planner to keep track of important dates). But this reminds me: I was recently in a relationship with a man who also thought that keeping a calendar was “unnecessary shit.” He knew his work schedule, but that was about it. So I would say something like “we were invited to Sam and Pam’s wedding on the 15th. You want to go, right? Ok, so make sure you’re not scheduled to work that day. Do you have a suit?” He would agree…

I don’t know what’s included in your $1.5k of miscellaneous bills, so maybe some of this is covered. When I think of luxuries: a nice dinner and/or going out (or even takeout) once or twice a week is gonna be like $600-800/month; an upscale gym membership might be $150-$300/month; gifting for birthdays/weddings/holidays could average to $200/month; having a pet that you buy nice food for (Farmer’s Dog was costing me like $250/month for my small dog); going to plays/concerts/comedy shows; plannin…

Regardless, the original point in your post indicates that you think income is a major deciding factor in who people chose to date/marry. I provided three surveys that show your assumptions don’t align with reality. I doubt you’ll rethink your stance since you seem pretty brainwashed by the red pill, but these surveys do not match with your argument, even if the finding isn’t exactly what you asked for in this comment.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/06/23 01:39 AM

84% of men in this survey said they would choose to be in a long term serious relationship with someone who makes more than them. In this study it shows about 45% of households have women and men partners making the same or the female partner making more money. (While this doesn’t ask if this is what men prefer, it does show that a rapidly-decreasing number of marriages have men as the breadwinner.) In this survey, 76% of men said they don’t care how much their partner makes.

Your perspective on women in the workplace is apparently limited and built on outdated stereotype. I currently work in sales for a very prominent, very “Gen Z” company. I’ve previously worked in startups, mid level companies, and big Fortune 500 type places. At all of them, I worked with female colleagues, managers, and executives. I also worked with agencies and advertisers outside my companies. At my current company, people (men and women) in my role easily make >$100k. Unless your threshold f…

$120k (after taking out 33% for taxes) works out to about $6,600 a month. Take out a 401k contribution and health insurance and you’re at about $5,500, or $2,750 per paycheck. Yes, that’s enough to live comfortably and build a nest egg, but “all the luxuries you want”? I must have expensive taste.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/06/23 01:59 PM

For dating, ultimately: I don’t have a rubric in my head. It’s way more about vibes. I know that’s frustrating for men, but it’s just how it is. Do you make me feel comfortable? Are you interested in me as a person? Can I see you as someone I’d be excited to introduce to my friends and family? (And that’s not necessarily about looks, but also about your manners, ability to hold a conversation, etc.) I haven’t grilled my friends on how they discern, but these seem to also be winning factors For t…

That expectation is born out of our culture, and from a precedent that men have (in the past) been favored for better education and more prestigious jobs. For instance, look up the “marriage bars” that legally and culturally banned married women from working in the 1880s up to the 1950s. A man earning more than his wife was just a fact of the matter, and a man earning less meant something was very wrong. Hell, in 1977 my mother made $500 a year more than my father, and my dad recalls people roas…

Im sure I’ll get downvoted for pointing this out, but men hold more than 50% of all seats of actual power in our country. Men make up 70% of Congress, make up 89% of Fortune 500 CEOs, are 85% of movie directors, 62% of lawyers, 73% of judges, 100% of presidents and 98% of vice presidents… I know this isn’t what you’re talking about here, but I feel like the drama in your statement should be put in a larger context.

How is that different than what I’m saying? We’re both saying that women care about their appearance (what “vain” means) but I gave reasons why.

All of those things—manicures, hairstyles, nice clothes, shoes, makeup—are part of a standard of “taking care of yourself” that our culture perpetuates and women are taught to value. Women are told—implicitly and explicitly—that “looking nice” is important, and nearly essential for fitting in when you’re in public. It starts early—we fawn over little girls in dresses telling them how pretty they look, and ooh and ahh when they paint their nails or put a bow in their hair. We see a woman with gra…

Two of your points I’d like to question: Sitcoms portray men as weak and useless This was a trope for a long time, but I’d argue that current TV has largely (and thankfully) moved away from it. Also, we’ve largely moved away from the traditional sitcom format in general, and toward shows that are more emotionally nuanced. (Though if you have any modern examples I’m willing to change my mind!) male child victims of sex abuse are not taken seriously The usual example for this is that boys who are …

I disagree. While sex is a very important distinction, there are other ways that my relationship with a partner is different than with even my best friends. For instance, married couples usually share financial decisions/implications. usually have to handle family issues together, make decisions about parenting, plan for old age/retirement together, etc.

“All the time?” Not sure where you’re getting your info from, but to elaborate: A) there is some percentage of women who do get sexual satisfaction from casual sex with strangers, which is why I said “most.” B) people can have casual sex for reasons other than sexual satisfaction. Maybe they enjoy the attention or crave the intimacy, or want to satisfy curiosity, even if the sex itself isn’t optimal. C) more often, women have casual sex with non-strangers: someone they’re just starting to see (i…

Approach the conversation with “I’d like to see if this person is compatible with me” not “I want to get her number.” If you see someone wearing a shirt for the band or video game you like, the conversation should be similar to one you’d have with a guy in the same situation. For instance, “hey, love your shirt! That game is awesome, what else do you play?” Is probably going to be better than “love your shirt! It’s looks really good on you.” Remember, if she responds, she’s also trying to assess…

So I actually dug into the data. I incorrectly assumed that the stat is based on government filings. It’s actually based on a longitudinal study of about 2,500 adults who were either married or in a non-marriage relationship in 2009, and surveyed them over 6 years. Respondents who were initially married and then reported breaking up were asked “who wanted the divorce more?” Of the 2,500 adults, there were 92 divorces by the end of the 6 years. Of those, in 56 were indicated with “wife wanted it …

A woman filing for divorce does not necessarily mean she’s at fault for the marriage ending, except in the most literal sense. To be clear: it could still be true that women are at fault for more marriages ending, but this stat about who files more often does not prove this assertion.

I must be a statistical anomaly because, for something “incredibly rare,” I know a lot of women who have been sexually assaulted and/or raped. Including myself. This is exactly what “me too” was about. The vast majority of women have these stories, even if they haven’t been empowered to share them. Your claim of “incredibly rare” just doesn’t comport with the facts.

This kind of supposes a very linear trajectory where all women go from a casual sex phase straight to a relationship phase, which I don’t think is true for most women. I think the majority of people in adulthood are in a cycle of dating -> relationship -> breakup -> dating -> relationship. I’d also say that young women tend to lose their virginity in a relationship to start. Also, values and attraction change over time. The guy I was in love with when I was 22 would be a nightmare to be with now…

While I think women in theory want a high earner, this just does not follow my experience in the real world. I think, to your point, this is being shed gradually. My theory is that the stereotypes and studies have not caught up to the changing trend lines—and what a woman may say she wants in theory does not always line up with who she ends up settling down with. Of the six couples with whom I have closest proximity and are of serious commitment/marrying age, 5 have the women out-earning the men…

I often hear the sentiment that men don’t like women wearing makeup, and prefer a woman who wears light or no makeup. If that is true, then wouldn’t makeup be making these women less attractive to men?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/23 03:45 AM

Yes, I’m only talking about OnlyFans in my comment. To wrap this up: when you say “most women who are rich sell their bodies souls or makeup” you are objectively wrong. Lots of women have legitimate careers and make good money. Furthermore, only a tiny percentage of women are on OF, and even fewer actually make money from it.

There are 2.1 million creators on OnlyFans. Even if every single creator is a young American woman under 30 making porn content (they’re not, but let’s just max the odds for you), that would represent only 9.7% of women 20-29. So yeah, I’d say there are more than 4. Edit: also, the average OF creator has 21 subscribers and makes $151 gross per month, before OF’s 20% cut ($30) and taxes (likely ~30%, so let’s say $36). That means the average creator is taking home less than $100 per month. People…

Uh, ok? Of the six women I mentioned, four have male boyfriends/fiancés. So while we don’t need men to take care of us financially, we seem to like having them around. But that’s besides the point. I online-dated throughout my 20s and I wasn’t super discerning about hooking up with/sleeping with guys on a first or second date. If we matched and clicked in person, I didn’t have a problem testing out whether we had physical chemistry. Sometimes this led to a relationship. Sometimes it led to ghosting. Sometimes it led to FWB, or hanging out a few more times until the Spark died. What I learned was that no one goes into a relationship knowing how it’s going to end. I didn’t know on the first …

I have had FWBs—it would give me sex and some intimacy, but asking them to come to a wedding or carry my laundry home from the laundromat usually felt a little too “boyfriend-y” for either of our comfort. It doesn’t do anything for having someone to take care of or feeling like they’re taking care of you, or future planning. Not knocking a FWB, but it’s not the same as a boyfriend.
