Why should a woman add value when she can be a “princess”? Because it's the right thing to do? Shouldn't everyone try to add value to their significant other's life, male and female alike? A better answer would be that, while the princesses of the world can get away with that sort of behavior now - that won't necessarily always be the case. Their youth and looks will fade, at which point they'll no doubt find that men suddenly start expecting them to bring more to the table than "a pretty face,"…

"First" marriage, eh? Doesn't sound like much of a commitment.

I think part of the intent here is that, ideally, both men and women "play the field" when they're younger (men to sow their wild oats, so to speak, and women to take time selecting a desirable mate), then settle down when they're older (women somewhere between 25 and 30, let's say, men maybe 5-10 years after that). The system's out of whack right now, however, because women are waiting til well into their thirties to commit, and ideally seeking men about their own age, while men that age are al…

Is "post-wall" supposed to be a thing when you're married? I thought the idea was that women were expected to marry while in their reproductive prime (i.e., pre-30) and then provide support, family, help with child-rearing, and so on thereafter. I always thought 'hitting the wall' was a phrase for women who waited until after 30 to commit themselves to a man, then found the sort of men they were interested in were only interested in ladies 5-10 years younger.

I would think a move like waltzing into the living room in lingerie would at least provoke a discussion! (Unless you're doing it so often he's just come to think of those as your 'lounging around the house' clothes, haha). I've heard heavy alcohol consumption can kill the libido, for what it's worth. For what it's ALSO worth, "performing" while watching porn or whatever and performing with a living, breathing partner are very different things. Is it possible he feels self-conscious or lacking co…

It's just very strange that I practically never have this happen but online it seems like everybody has this happen to them. This is no doubt partly due to certain segments of the media exaggerating such reports to serve their political agenda, and partly just an example of the old adage that "no one ever talks about the times McDonald's got their order RIGHT." That is, women who get catcalled tend to complain about it when it happens, but there's no Huffpo columnist out there writing thinkpiece…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
