It's just an exclusionary way of saying objectification. Yeah, I get that it originates from film criticism - that male directors sexualized women specifically for male audiences. In that respect, it's accurate. But films aren't so male dominated anymore, and not just women are sexualized in them. So, yeah, use objectification. You could also say sexualization and objectification aren't one in the same, but that's another topic.

I've already been banned from most feminist subs for doing that. I criticize the MRM because I care about the cause and identifying problems is the first step to hopefully improving things. Yeah, I'm not left wing and I'm not even gonna watch the video because the thumbnail alone tells me that guy is gonna be smug and extremely punchable. It has the same repelling "yeah that's not my kinda crowd" effect as when a night club's sign has a rainbow font. Happened to me on r/menslib. I literally went there for an alternate take on mens rights from left leaning people. I commented wishing people would do a study on feminism radicalizing girls because someone posted a study on men's rights communities radicalizing boys. You cannot criticize feminists or women at all, even when it's out of a desire to improve the ultimate goal of gender equity and helping both sides get along and ideally work to make things better for us all.
