ur backpedaling now. its not about how much is at risk it’s about the likelihood of divorce. which is exactly the same for both people! if thats stopping you from dating with genuine intention then I digress … as that makes me feel more comfortable choosing to do so regardless

Ur reducing relationships to the risk of men losing money they worked hard for. I wont feed into that because its devaluing and defies the type of connection two people need to even last long enough to want marriage. Your choice if you want to keep focusing on that. My point was if the argument itself implies divorce = unsafety/loss then: no woman or collective can garuntee with certainty that a divorce wont happen. let alone by offering someone standard of identifiable symbol that men can see b…

I wont feed into your confirmation bias. If you are unable to see that this is not an argument posing men vs women than that is a shame but it would be cool if you actually read over all of my comments and try to absorb the entire message not just cherry pick things out of context. Thanks The only thing going against my approach that on the human level men and women are equals albeit not identical is OPs claim that women receive more than 50% from a divorce. That is not my claim and i question t…

I didnt claim that myself. I clearly was referring to what OP claims as an if statement. OP is about some hurdle that needs to be overcome to make guys feel safe to date. Reducing that to this dichotomy of won’t come out and date or marriage = divorce = financial loss… is a self fulfilling prophecy when conflict threatens the relationship. Anyone financially supported feels inversely proportional to this. trapped vs alone. which is why i offered alternative approaches.

Your friend married someone knowing they were not financially equal. That sounds like an informed choice. If you are trying to form an argument or algorithm that results in reducing the risk of divorce and therefore the risk of unequal financial loss… that is going to be a very difficult argument to form. And this angle won’t help. Like I said, finances are a matter of fact. You have them or you don’t. And many options exist to offer a sense of safety but it shouldn’t be frame as the money being…

I get your angle…. and prepared for the push back but given you asked for alternatives… and the only way i wanna approach dating is by meeting my equal partner (not to be confused with identical). Idk about anyone else but dating is in fact about presenting yourself and what you wish to offer and contribute (qualities more than assets at first). It is of course also about what you are looking for but I am not attracted to someone that only talks about their needs and preferences and desires when…

Your confusion and the fact that you are bothered by any responses means you didn't go into it prepared. A debate requires a supported claim. No one should be requesting evidence from you. It's your claim. That already invites criticism. What you shared comes across as an assertion. Unless there is enough general consensus of some objective truth that supports an assertion. it is an invitation for pretty subjective feedback. Im not sure what you expected. it's an interesting and relevant discuss…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
