You're afraid. Jump. These are all excuses to trick yourself into avoiding facing your fear of interacting with women and rejection. "I just need to x before I can get women." No, you need to act.

Yes. I have had a lot of success with slow burn relationships but THROUGH FRIEND GROUPS. There are plenty of women in my life that have thought of me as nothing special at first, only to have some kind of pivotal "oh I'm into him" moment and we've dated for a bit. If you're on dates, you need to be actively taking it somewhere. And nearly any 1:1 hangout between a sexually available man and a woman is a "date" even if the two parties aren't willing to admit it. If there isn't consistent romantic…

3 things to focus on while you date: * How can I have fun with this girl? * How can I learn about her? * Do I want to date *her* over the million other women out there? You're not trying to win the girl. You're trying to have fun with her and figure out if you're compatible. I promise, if you have the mindset of "How do I not fumble?" that you will fumble. Let her start to like you and want to win you over. Yes, you can try to progress things physically. Watch her signs. A girl that wants to be …

Absolutely. This is the kind of thinking that comes from defining your self worth by women. No woman wants to define her man, she wants to be partner to someone strong and worthy. She wants to be part of his confident, strong world. Not be the underpinning of his emotional state. It's easy to downward spiral in this situation, but ultimately you have to break out of it and find reasons to authentically love yourself without women.

Argue with me all you want. Your excuses are hollow and the reality is in front of you. No one 'happy and enthusiastic' is writing posts like this. Maybe you try to fake it around women and they see through the facade to your downtrodden self instantly. I'm not trying to dunk on you, man. But you need to find a way to have a positive view of yourself or you will continue to have this problem for the rest of your life.

This post is your invisible glass. Read what you wrote. Not the words, but the tone behind it. Dejected. Giving up. Sad. You think that aura is limited to your anonymous post online? Women can sense that in real life too, man. They can FEEL how you feel about yourself. Getting laid is nearly all in your presence, your charisma, your aura. Being a person that people WANT to be around. You can't fake it with PUA tactics. It's simply impossible to consciously manage all of the subconscious behavior…

No, those guys simply thought it "went well" because they liked the girl and didn't consider AT ALL whether she liked him back. "The date went well" is guy code for "I liked her and she smiled at me a lot." It has nothing to do with some magical escalation process that will turn on a girl that isn't that into you.

Happens to me often. Like 8 of the last 10 women that have flirted with me have been in relationships. This is more common than people think, especially if your personality contrasts whatever issue is going on in their relationship. You're fun and high energy? The woman who's bored of her boyfriend will notice you. You're chill, stoic, emotionally stable? The woman in a high drama, abusive relationship will notice you. You're fit? The woman with a pudgy boyfriend will notice you. Usually you don…

One of the top problems men have today is feeling like they need to pretend they're not hitting on a woman. It's incredibly feminine to try to obscure your underlying masculine desire. "Don't worry miss, definitely not hitting on you. Maybe we could get a drink sometime and I'll definitely not hit on you further. And I definitely don't want to have sex with you. Not me, heavens no." Women actually like it when you're bold with what you want from them.

You want to go for the vibe of "You're beautiful, I want you, I'm inviting you into my great life - but I don't need you. You have to participate in this and add value to my life as well." You can pursue and show desire. You become eager/needy when you act like a puppy and show desire even when she isn't reciprocating. That's when people become a "simp." Have other things going on in your life, and give her attention appropriate to what she's giving you. By the 3rd or 4th date you should be seei…

Teasing and banter is fine, just watch the line where you're actually hurting her with it. There's a "too much" territory where you're saying things that will 100% cause her to feel bad about herself or like she can't be serious with you. Flirt: my favorite way to describe the dynamic here is "think of the things that - if you said them to your guy friends - they'd call you gay." That's how you know you're flirting successfully. Be playful with everything. You can have serious convos with her if…

Rule of thumb: tease her like one of the guys, but 25% as harshly. Flirt with her more to counteract the teasing. Women love being teased, but mostly are going to take things more personally and literally than your guy friends. Source: offended many women trying to dial this in when I was younger.

If you really like her, talk to her about it. Or accept that you might not be compatible with her if she's into that much leading and financial help. This is one of those things you shouldn't have to talk about early in dating. Some girls want to be spoiled and some girls want to spoil and some are neutral. It's a big compatibility point. Dating is a preview of what you'll get down the line. Her upscale tastes will not go away with a conversation and, if you can't provide or aren't into that "pr…

Own it. Realize that a whole lot of people out there are actually quirky, weird, have the tism, etc. I go through the same thing - I relate best to women who have some pretty nerdy interests, high verbal IQ, maybe a little spectrumy. I used to meet women like that and think "there's no way I'll ever meet another woman I relate to on this level!" But, you know what? I did. Month in and out. Year in and out. Go to places where these women are. Whatever quirky/nerdy interest you have, I guarantee t…

Getting your life together and chasing women aren't mutually exclusive. In fact they're tightly connected. You can do both. Women will like you more as you improve yourself. Learn to balance spending time on your career, education, physical appearance, and also finding a woman. Consider career paths that don't require a degree - plenty of lucrative options. It's not too late. 34yo myself, at peak success currently - really started getting shit together at 26. Had a setback to rock bottom at 31-3…

One side usually develops feelings. I've never seen a FWB relationship actually endure the test of time, unless: \* Both people are extremely attractive and sort of mildly dislike eachother on a personality level * Both people are regularly able to find other partners * Both people are afraid of commitment I can only be FWBs with a woman who has a personality that I'm not attracted to or some other complete value system mismatch - i.e. she doesn't want kids and I do.

The physical stuff will make a big difference. Losing weight doesn't have to be unhealthy; I recommend looking up macro counting (IIFYM) or just trying to stick to a clean diet like mediterranean/paleo/whole30. Ensure you can lose weight at a sustainable, healthy pace. 20-25% bodyfat is a great target for women from a fitness perspective. The whole "you look healthier now" stuff is pretty toxic and is often said very disingenuously. Sometimes even said by other women to feel better about their o…

The entire problem with this type of thinking and the overly-generalized advice in this community is just that: they're generalizations. Seduction is a DIALOGUE with another human being. What signals is she giving you? Is she hinting that you're being too direct and you should back off? Is she hinting that you're being too passive and she's going to get bored? Is she hinting that you ignore her too much? Is she hinting that she's feeling smothered and wants you to back off? Is she threatened by …

Lot of stuff here, and your post is pretty sparse, so I'll cover the generic stuff: Is he using porn? Does he eat well, have a healthy physical body, sleep well? Any man with appropriate testosterone levels who isn't masturbating regularly should have a pretty damn good sex drive. I've seen porn or low T issues cause this sort of thing (low T as a side effect of an unhealthy lifestyle). Do you two have resentment in your relationship? Do you fight often? Is he depressed? Easy way to kill the sex…

There are millions of years of mating evolution where writing wasn't even invented and this type of content is so niche that maybe 1% of the world is aware of it. And they mostly all meet and mate effectively. You yourself said it: reading feels good because you're afraid to get out and do the real work. What does that tell you about the next move?

Go out and talk to a lot of people. Men and women. If someone doesn't like you, figure out why. What did you do that pushed them away? If someone does like you, figure out why. What did you do that made them like you? There's no formula for it, you have to get out and practice.

"he doesn't have any stats better than me" Brother, if he's never made a post like this then he's automatically a more attractive man than you. If you think dating and seduction is about "stats" then you're so far gone I don't know how to save you. But I'll try: he probably has charisma and a likable personality and isn't obsessing over his "stats." Seduction is about your aura, presence, being a good person, and your social skills. All very difficult to quantify.

Everyone in this thread is acting like texting her a bit longer is some massive energy drain on you. Safety is a concern plenty of women have on dating apps. Text her a bit longer, try again; if it's no, move on. Sending a few flirty or fun texts to build more comfort takes what, 5-10 minutes out of your day? Don't overthink it.

I only lend money to people who I know well and who I know are good for paying me back. This could be a girl, this could be a guy. Lending has nothing to do with seduction. I pay for dates with women I'm dating. Above and beyond that, no.
/r/seduction17/05/24 03:15 PM

Simple framing: I regret every move I didn't make over the years. I regret no move that I ACTUALLY made over the years. Some were PAINFUL. But I don't regret them. You already live in a state of regret from not making moves? Well then. You know you regret that. Have you tried the other path? Make moves from here on out. Why regret taking a chance? You collapsed a "what if" to a certain reality. Rejection hurts, but you won't regret taking your shot.

Yes. Women become excited to talk to you and get to know you and they will be more forgiving of a weird thing or two. Improving your appearance will get you more "right swipes" in real life. Just like a dating app, you're dead in the water if you can't take it from there. This is all surface level stuff though and won't help you beyond the first or second date. Too many men focus on appearance over developing a charismatic, fun, and seductive personality. That will all get you way further.

This comment is the window into everything that's wrong. Why do you think it's bad to show sexual/romantic interest in a woman? Why do you think that will hurt your reputation? Answer that question to yourself, honestly. Because that is 100% being projected outwardly and women can see that you aren't willing to own that you're sexually/romantically interested in them. You won't ruin your reputation by being forward with women unless you're creepy about it. You don't have to say "nice tits." You …

Women are attracted to more than just looks. A woman at the bar can't tell that you have ANYTHING going on your life; you're just another guy standing there. Guys get attention in bars for looks and a charismatic social presence. Presumably your profile shows other attractive traits about you like an ability to type complete sentences, having a good job, similar hobbies, whatever your photos show about your personality. Dating apps provide a much better "big picture" view of you than you standin…

Social media is helpful if you don't obsess over little rules around when to follow back or message each other. It's a tool to: Show off facets of your life that a girl wouldn't otherwise see Establish communication Message her whenever you want. Don't overthink it. Treat it like having a number. Usual things apply. Text her, say you want to see her, set up a date. Banter if you want but don't let it get boring.

Extremely accurate. If you're a normal man with some attractive traits and not completely asexual around women, some of these friendships will even turn into more. Or they'll introduce you to the women that will turn into something more.

Absolutely insane take. Women come over all the time, but they know what it means. If she wants to fuck, she'll go to your place. If she doesn't, she won't. In fact I'd say the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of your thesis is true: women would rather go to your place. Then, if she wants to bail, she can leave. Instead of having to sit there and try to figure out how to get a strange guy out of her place. I've ended at my place at least twice as often as I've ended up at hers.

Compliment the things that are true. Call out the things that aren't. Most men get into "over validating" territory because they deify a woman and ignore all of her flaws. They compliment her at random times when she's done nothing. They overlook any flaw she has and tell her "no, no, no, you're a perfect angel." Simply save your compliments for things that genuinely merit it, and don't put her on a pedestal. Match her energy with it. Is she "verbally escalating" with you? It should be two way i…

Completely inconsequential. Wear whatever suits your style, makes you feel good, etc. The internet has started to obsess over balding just as much as height. Reality is, some girls are going to just be completely put off by you being bald. Hat vs no hat is never going to change that. That's a much lower % of women than you think, and your confidence, aura, personality matter infinitely more.

Of course. I've gone from peaks to valleys to peaks in terms of dating. You already identified a problem you have - you don't know what to talk about. Why not? If you have nothing to talk about, you're probably not doing interesting enough stuff. Go do interesting stuff. Become a better person. Live life. If you're actively living life, doing stuff, going on adventures, meeting people; you'll always have stuff to talk about. Ask yourself why you feel so inadequate to be a partner to a woman now …

I'm 34 - not quite the age you mentioned, but I mostly date girls in their mid 20s. Not a crazy age gap, but getting there. If you think you're being a "dancing monkey" then you're obviously putting on some kind of show for women and being inauthentic to yourself. Women don't want that, even from same aged men. You can be older and have energy, you can be older and be chill and relaxed. As long as it's authentic. Any woman who shows interest in you as you get older knows that you're older. It's …

Be more dominant than them. I've dated a lot of girls like this, they ALWAYS end up being the ones who are the most submissive/vulnerable if you can actually show them that you're the masculine, dominant, assertive person in the relationship. Every time. A lot of women develop that type of personality as a defense mechanism because they've been hurt before. Huge caveat: don't get drawn into being competitive with them/starting arguments. Good observation. This applies to any girl you're interested in - whether you've seen her once or for years. Make a move. Works? Cool. Rejected? Cool. You've collapsed uncertainty and know precisely where you stand with a girl. It lets you move on and not dwell on what could have been.

This bit: Comment on her looks, make sexual jokes, make stronger eye contact. I'll expand a bit - you probably look at your guy friends in a certain way, have certain behaviors, etc that communicate to them "I'm not gay, we're just hanging out." Just did this with a girl I had largely ignored/overlooked for almost a year. Dial up the flirtiness, start showing her that you're actually attracted to her sexually and not just as friends. Comment on her looks, make sexual jokes, make stronger eye contact. If she has any lingering desire for you, she'll like it, thinking she's finally "won you over." If she's reciprocating or seems into it, ask her out. If her attraction for you is dead, not much you can do. Focus on other stuff. Don't fall i…

Gave you her snap, number, flirts with you, talks about never getting laid? Brother, she's interested. She probably feels apprehensive about starting something with a coworker. "Rain check" implies that she expects you to try again. Shoot another shot, make it clear it's a date. If she says no again, amicably distance yourself and move on. Don't get pulled into desexualizing yourself around her. If she's interested enough she'll come back around.

First, I just don't buy drinks/food for girls that I meet out at a bar Second, if you're on a proper date, buy everything. 99% of women aren't deranged enough to go on a full date with a guy just to get a free dinner or drinks. If a girl chooses to spend a few hours around you she most likely sees SOMETHING in you that she's attracted to or curious about. Yep. Wasted my highschool and college years reading books. 5+ years of dating, socializing, etc taught me a lot more about women than any book. One book/podcast actually helped me, most were actively harmful or rehashing the same infinitely recycled takes you get from any internet forum in 20,000 words. Books are often a shy man's way of procrastinating and intellectualizing an activity that is better learned by getting out and actually talking to women.

If you aren't experiencing this, you probably don't like her that much. I've felt this way with every girl that I've wanted to be serious with. EXTREMELY common feelings. Ironically the state of anxiety ends up pushing women away - you end up acting safe, boring, walking on eggshells. Many women are attracted to a man who is assertive, risky, bold. You can't really get rid of that, even if you meet other women. I don't buy the one-itis talk from PUA communities - no matter how many women I talk …

Absolutely man. Getting over your shyness and coming out of your shell will help. Unfortunately when you're taller/bigger in stature, people are going to make assumptions that you're confident, aggressive, etc. It's a subconscious assessment, but people generally expect size = confident and assertive. Once you push through that shyness you'll do great. Also, dating apps are hard and mask some of your good physical qualities. Even if you're super attractive, you'll get turned down a lot on apps. …

Brother, if you're 6'5", I guarantee you can get women attracted to you on that physical attribute alone. Doesn't matter. Some dudes look good with one, some don't. I've had women tell me they hate facial hair because it sucks while kissing. I've had others say they're only attracted to guys with beards. The term "approach" is dogshit and suggests that you're stalking some kind of prey. One of the worst things to come of PUA type communities. Is it weird to go up to a stranger, male or female, and make small talk? Not at all, people socialize in public all the time. If after making some flirty small talk, you realize you want to see this person again, how do you do that? You ask for their number/IG/snap. No one said anything about having power over her or controlling her or mistreating her. You're projecting. Neither party should hold power over the other. You get it. Most of these other posts, I can tell the person hasn't experienced much emotional investment from a woman before. The hook has to be there, it doesn't matter if YOU felt it went well. Is SHE emotionally invested? Tons of guys project their own excitement as actual connection. Same people will also believe that somehow she'll go back and cheat on them with Chad-ex, but won't believe that they can be that guy. Same dynamic at play. Yeah, rapport is the wrong word.

Here are my rules of paying, and I have plenty of money to throw around on women. If you're financially strapped, you should be even more serious about these: (1) Only pay when it's understood by both of you that it's a romantic date (2) Only pay as long as things are progressing romantically - you're starting to kiss, make out, hook up, connect on a deeper level. (3) If you aren't progressing the relationship by date 3, switch to splitting. If you're paying in any other scenario, you're just si…

Early dating/casual: Realizing I'm her second choice; other dates get priority, other men get special treatment, visibly checking out other guys while I'm around, texting a bunch during dates etc. No quicker turnoff in my book. Usually leads to me pulling back/soft ghosting until we just aren't talking anymore. At most I might pursue for an ego fuck, but there's no potential there.

Been in this situation before, twice. Hate to say it man, but she didn't "use" you. You participated in all of this willingly, hoping for more. She was emotionally cheating on some level, but she most likely thought that you knew nothing physical would happen because she had a boyfriend. She likely assumed that you knew the dynamics of the situation and were okay with it. Unless you made it clear that you wanted to make out/hook up/date, you weren't used at all. If she led you on with promises o…

It's always been my impression that if someone pulls back or rejects me in the way she did, I should give them space and put in significantly less energy. Chasing or being forward after getting rejected just seems pushy/needy. Maybe I'm wrong about that?

Good edits as well. I've had something similar happen before and blew it up by being too needy/trying to rub it in her face by dating around. Lesson learned back then. I've just been pulling back, letting her initiate conversation, matching her effort and keeping it non sexual for now. Enough to show her I'm not mad/don't resent her, but also that I'm not going to chase her or be pushy. If she wants to suggest another date, I'll be in for it and see how it progresses. If not, I'll move on.

Appreciate that response. Pretty much where I'm at after reading responses here plus some followup interactions with her. Yeah, some flags; I'm just trying to see where things go with her. Based on the group convos, it sounds like she's dating around because she had a string of bad relationships and wants to keep things shallow to avoid getting hurt again. May also be why she backed off here - this is one where she probably has potential to get hurt again, if not by me then from the reaction of …

We started making out, she was pretty into it and giving as much effort as I was. I started exploring her boobs/thighs. She seemed to not respond much to that and got nervous, then asked to wait before going further. Maybe 5-10 minutes in? Still, seemed like the passion had drained from her at that point, whether she got anxious or just wasn't enjoying herself.

Yeah, I only knew through the friend group. She hid them around me. Openly talked about them with the rest of the group. I took that as a sign of interest. I don't expect a single girl to be celibate - all of this happened over a week. My thought at first was that she was trying to trade up - she flat out told me on one date "why are you single and here, you're way better than any of the other guys I've met here, I'd expect you to be in a city or something." Of course now that she's rejected me …

That was my first hope. I figured if that was true, she would have reached out a day or two later to explain she's still interested. Instead we mostly talked about factual stuff, she hasn't mentioned it at all - good or bad.

I would've thought that but her attitude and body language suggested that something had made her feel uneasy/close off. It was more of "I'm not into this" than "I'm into this but we need to stop"

We did talk pretty openly at my place - she asked when I first started to find her attractive, I asked when she first started to find me attractive. We both said we'd thought it for a while but were uncertain about acting on it due to the shared friend group and other life drama. I didn't share that I really like her and could see it becoming exclusive if things continued to go well, but it seems too much, too soon to say that. I asked her what she was thinking when she pulled away but she didn'…

Thanks for the thorough writeup. We don't text often anyway, and I'm usually not the one initiating conversation, so that's easy enough for me and my default response here.

That part I'm confident on at least. I take very good care of myself physically/hygienically. Wish she would have told me what she was thinking, but oh well.
