This is less red pill and more ego/pride. You're not mad at her, you're mad about a fake version of her you made. It would be one thing if you saved yourself but you're just being a hypocrite.

Dude, that description made me tear up. The backpack thing is so true. I saw my bajillionith dead 20 something year old on the 4th of July. Drowned in a massive lake but in water he could stand up in. Washed out to less than 10 ft of water after drowning. IDK why but I was fine at the time. Made our usual crude jokes to deal with the situation but the next day I just didn't want to get out of bed. I slept and slept and slept. How's your team for talking to? I'm fire and water rescue and I think therapists are worthless but you're teammates are key. Cry just do it. Hug. Tell your chief. Hug your chief. Hug your kids. Have kids. I would probably be more effected if it wasn't for family. It doesn't effect me anymore. I'll still cry, I'll still be mad for "failing". I have found it easier to focus on the positive.
