It's true in my experience. Often I'll have girls who I just have added on instagram that show sudden interest when I post, almost as if they forgot I existed before then. Make sure your posts are original though, I'm guessing girls sift through hundreds of posts a day and if you're just posting a selfie you won't get anywhere. I guess this is social media game of sorts lol.

Try plastic surgery. If you really think your looks are what are holding you back it might be worth the try. At least try to make sure looks are actually the problem beforehand. And ask a guy not a woman since she will probably lie to make you feel better.

Women have since long always been the gatekeepers of reproduction. I believe the numbers were that, throughout human history, 80% of all women have had descendants vs 40% of men.Also, apart from some anecdotal rulers that were women, most were men, not because of some social norm but because men are, on average, better rulers (and most likely due to evolution). The evolutionary reasons for this seem obvious.

They really do. If you want something more convincing than some dude on reddit you can look up some studies yourself. When taking every possible factor into account: personality, social skills, upbringing, political views... the only resounding and overwhelming factor that contributes to attraction from the opposite sex (even more so for women) is looks. Depressing tbh.
