1	How do I create a wall between me and my assets? A trust is definitely an option but I wouldn't have complete faith for a trust to hold up. If family court is anything like it is here in the US, then a trust can be subpoenaed for its standing and assets. 1	What can I practically do about family court risk? I would say the equal income approach isn't a bad idea since that would make logical sense. Both parties being capable of sustaining themselves should be grounds for an even split where both parties leave basically with what they came in with and have now. That being said, divorce court isn't always logical. It really comes down to the judge and what he/she decides to do. I don't know the judges in your area but I can mostly say this is a crapshoot.
