Because Twitter will show you opinions you disagree with because that increases your engagement. It's not an echo chamber like Reddit, it's engagement is based on debate/outrage. The more you engage, the longer you stay on it. That's it's business model. Like FB or Instagram engagement is based on "Look at me, look how cool I am," or Reddit's is "Look how smart I am/seeking or giving help" (the latter being why I like using Reddit).

Ukraine doesn't have the same set of issues as ours do, and troops are being VERY highly regarded atm.... High status = high power. They got actual flags of that organisation hung up in Berlin, and other European cities after the Soviets raped, and pillaged their land.
