That's fair. I'm speaking for my experience in the US. There are misogynists of all walks of life here.

No worries! I'm saying gym bros don't deserve to be blamed for the actions of what seems to be a predominantly different group of people. Gym bros, in my experience, tend to be polite, prosocial, and helpful. I'm not sure why the stereotype of them as douchebags persists?

Why are gym bros catching strays? It's shut-in incels who comprise the douchebags, no?

You should ask yourself why they WANT to make democracy so complex.

That sounds like a lot. I don't hear those things. I do hear that homophobia in many cases is rooted in perceptions of masculinity and any divergence from that is deemed unacceptable for men. I'm not too familiar with TwoX but I'm sorry if they've mocked masculinity, that's not cool.

I don't hear that at all, and I'm around a lot of feminists. I've seen feminists claim that what society deems "feminine" is mocked and ridiculed in male spaces, and they wish this wasn't the case. That's definitely a far cry from "femininity should be valued more" and WAY different than "femininity is under attack."

It's actually conservatives who constantly cry about masculinity and femininity under attack. They just append it with "traditional." Progressives/feminists are concerned about women's safety, not protecting the platonic ideal of femininity. You're simply wrong.

Tibial and penis lengthening, as well as testosterone supplementation, obviously.

Not even that per se. It's a big world, mate.

Truly, I'm not judging, but "blackpill got me 10/10" seems to be the exception, no? Would like to see how.

I'm not redpilled, I just took OP at his word, and think he will take the healthy approach rather than the blackpill approach (which I neglected to mention could also include isolating themselves romantically which could yield neutral outcomes). If the outcomes aren't what you expect, to what degree can you call that a success?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/06/24 05:08 AM

Great mindset. A lot of folks for whom redpill fails will simply go from redpill to blackpill and harm themselves and/or others. Godspeed.

You'll get no argument from me. I think the guys who "don't understand" legitimately either A) lack the ability to place themself in other people's shoes more broadly (ie empathy deficit in most other arenas) or B) understand, but are selectively ignoring the woman's perspective for argument's sake (ie Devil's advocate for nonempathetic men). Either option means analogy-making in an attempt to jumpstart their empathy is an exercise in futility, no?
/r/PurplePillDebate14/06/24 12:59 AM

Or maybe the flaws in the analogy overshadow/undermine/negate its utility in communicating the idea it attempts to communicate. I guarantee all men can imagine a scenario where they receive an unwanted advance from a woman they do not consider attractive.

I find it interesting that you would consider any of these things "arbitrary" or "little," to quote OP. Especially as a RPer.

The people with whom I disagree have a hive mind. The people with whom I agree are free thinkers who independently arrived at the same conclusion.

There are excellent reasons men should (and often do) raise their standards. Sometimes I think these discussions are being waged about some platonic ideal of the median man, and the generalities that ensue are comical.

As written, a prize is an object. You meant it figuratively, but I think this belies some level of subconscious objectification.

I don't think you're very progressive if you make blanket statements about men being narcissists who "need to be top dogs."

Some men also probably like to help others and genuinely feel sorry for and want to uplift women who struggle with self esteem. Perhaps it isn't the greatest basis for a relationship, but I've been there and I'm not malicious.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/05/24 08:32 AM

Ironically, insecure (ie low self esteem) folks will often ACT egotistical in order to project a veneer of security with themselves. It's a smokescreen in many cases.

That's why they used scare quotes. The implication being that some women (or society writ large) conflate healthy self esteem with egotistical behavior.

A pretty obvious example is the men's body positivity movement. Also encouraging men to be more emotionally expressive and unashamed to seek mental health support. Both spearheaded by feminists.

Oh, read that too quick. The point still applies though, assuming 6 ft is less attractive than 7 ft in a guy. Pick any other trait and it still applies, ceteris paribus.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 07:03 AM
1

You argued that a 6 ft woman refusing to date a 6 ft man is delusional in the original comment. I'm stating the diametrical opposite point of view. It's not delusional just because her standards are out of reach (no pun intended) either for her (to meet a man in the 98th percentile of height or whatever) or for the 6 ft guy she rejects but who is her "equivalent" otherwise. If she is unsuccessful at meeting Mr 7 ft who meets her requirements, and instead of lowering her standards (okay pun inten…

You're still putting the cart before the horse. People don't look at themselves in the mirror or rate themselves based on other criteria and then consciously decide they are deserving of their equivalent. They're just attracted to whomever they happen to be attracted to. That's not delusion, and - of critical importance - it's not malleable. Does this mean some people end up lonely for longer stretches than others? Yes. Can anything be done about it in a way that is fair to themselves or prospec…

It's not a cope, it's a preference between two options, even if for some people both options suck (keep in mind there are plenty of people who don't care if they're single OR in a relationship PROVIDED the relationship is with someone to whom they are attracted). This is true for men and women, so I'd say the same about MGTOW yeah.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/04/24 05:59 AM

Why do you keep asking rhetorical questions? Comes across as cowardly. Say what you mean: "Women's standards are too high for guys like me to have a chance." Because what they're saying is they would rather be single than with someone they aren't attracted to, even if they are "looks match" or whatever. Whether or not they're upset with the lack of alternatives, that's their prerogative if they prefer that outcome over the counterfactual. It's not complicated.

Turning inward for self improvement and turning outward toward civil society for building community are not mutually exclusive. I'd argue each is needed to have a degree of success in the other. The issue is a lot of guys turn inward the bad way that doesn't lead to self-improvement, no?

You can laugh, but it's not just weak or mentally incompetent guys. To answer your question, increasing frequency of stochastic terrorism and worsening fascism. Also it's not a threat, I don't want those things to happen.

There's no guarantee the stable equilibrium will stay at 33%, and there's no guarantee that the existing 33% couldn't cause serious problems for society. Also not saying the solution is forcing attraction. Not a fan of "government-mandated gf" incel-style solutions.

If enough people have the same personal problem, it becomes a social-political problem.

Polyandry + marriage = polyandrous polygamy Polygyny + marriage = polygynous polygamy
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/24 11:03 PM
1

Minor semantic nitpick, but it's possible to have polyandrous polygamy where one woman is married to multiple men as well. You're referring to polygynous polygamy. -Gamy means marriage, -Amory means love.

I don't think you can express the idea you're trying to express with a Venn diagram. The population sizes of men and women are roughly the same so the circles would be about the same size, for starters.

I'm trying to visualize this and coming up short. Can you explain?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/04/24 10:27 PM
You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
