Women would begin killing themselves or others en masse. And if 'push comes to shove' like that, how do you expect women to win? For starters: Men make up approximately 83% to 85% of the total U.S. military and roughly 86% to 87% of sworn law enforcement officers nationwide.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 02:57 AM

If push truly came to shove, yeah, I don't think the current year would be able to stop it.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 02:51 AM

The rhetoric I've heard most from people who think this way is that you only have the illusion that you're no longer reliant on men because men allow it. If men wanted to stop allowing it, they could.

What matters is that both people are on the same page and no one is being deceived. If both people are low experience and learning, I think it's fine, 'starter bf/gf' as the prior commenter put it, but they should be able to communicate that to each other.

As a man, I want to be with the person I feel that way about, but so far it hasn't worked out with the people I've felt that way about. Likewise, and much more recently, there've been a few women who have felt that way about me, and it was I who did not feel the same way. I'm sure it's what everyone wants but it doesn't feel particularly easy.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/06/26 01:35 AM

Sounds like a good reason for it to just be an automatic and expected practice.

That's true but you have to expect people's behavior to be curated by their experiences. The same way basically all women are cautious around stranger men even if they recognize that not literally every man is a threat to them.

My sentiments exactly. One time, a long time ago now, I was playing a song a friend of mine who killed himself wrote for my gf on my guitar and I broke down pretty badly. She made a face that I had no way of understanding at the time but made an impression on my memory. Upon reflection, I now perceive it as the moment I lost her.

It's not about how many people we have, it's about our replenishment rate. That's what's declining everywhere. There needs to be enough working-age people to support the non-working elderly.

I've put some more thought into this and honestly I don't know how to answer when I'm asked this in a way that both satisfies the person asking and also satisfies my own integrity that I've answered the question honestly. And part of the reason why is because I feel like nobody understands how attraction actually works. You guys just see a line at 18 and assume that anyone who ever experiences attraction ever for someone aged 17y364d or less is a pedophile. But attraction is more like a bell cur…

I think how an age gap relationship starts is more important than the age gap itself. Who are the individuals in the relationship. Why are they in the relationship. Spot on here. I've been peppering a lot of this in my commentary around the thread. I didn't reply to you before because we are mostly aligned but I meant to circle back about this: Did they know each other when one was still a minor? What's your perspective on this? There's one woman in the thread who partly shared a bad time she ha…

A lot of these conversations seem to assume younger women have no agency at all. Would have bolded it even thicker if I could have.

Frankly, I expect the average person to have agency before 18. When I think about my upperclassmen peers, I don't recall a single one of them who I'd describe as 'Still needs the government to hold their hand through figurung out whether or not they want to bang somebody'. And lo and behold, the age of consent is 16 in 30/50 states and 16 or less in an even larger percentage of the world, indicating that the overwhelming majority of governments agree with me. My narrative isn't that 18 is 'magic…

The only way you have any hope of changing my mind about any of this is peeling back the layers of your psychology. That is what I'm interested in. Expansion and curation of my philosophies. I've put a lot of effort into arriving at my positions so no you shouldn't expect me to back down easily but you have an opportunity here. I've been one of if not the literal loudest voice about this shit on all of Reddit for years. What do you mean he groomed you? Does that just mean he knew while you were …

This is once again a situation where we see men not wanting to be wanted for their money, but being unhappy with the outcomes of no longer being needed for their money. Don't guess what I care about. Every single person has been bad at it and you weren't an exception. The more rights and liberty women gain in a society, the smaller the average age gap becomes. Somebody else already said this and I thought it was interesting and it sounds right but it doesn't change the fact that there are going …

My situation was not a partnered one and it was a well guarded secret This! This is culprit right here. Our culture pushes these encounters into secrecy and the secrecy is what leads to all the trauma. It's the shaming that's responsible for the secrecy in the first place. Or sometimes the law. I've gathered that you were a minor. What was the gap of your encounter? So no, no one was wise to it to tell me You probably wouldn't have listened anyway, but with your situation not being a partner/rel…

Where are you guys seeing this? I've only ever seen the opposite. Young women who get hit on by older men when they're not interested in this dynamic tend to be creeped out. They're not receptive. They don't respond positively. I see infinite evidence of this all over r/creepyPMs and other such subs. The only young women who could possibly be in this dynamic are the ones who actively want to be in it. They are rare. I only knew one person who ended up in this dynamic out of both high schools I w…

The ones truly partnered up, no, I've seen it take years of being used and abused before they end things and then it takes a few years for them to figure out what the fuck happened to them. Is that really dependent on the age gap of the relationship? That sounds like it could apply to any relationship.

Society doesn’t grant rights based on someone being perfectly mature or never naive And yet, this is exactly the argument I run into all the time, especially when I advocate about voting.

Honestly, the more you say and try to justify things the worse you look. Then stop following me around the internet asking me the same shit over and over again. After checking this guy's profile, this is a guy who has been following me around for months on multiple accounts. He's been weird as shit, issuing death threats, making fun of my friend who killed himself, and just generally harassing me. If you had an 18yo daughter, would you want her to be with a man in his 40s? Been meaning to circle back to this one. I cannot say I have any way to know for sure, but certainly with everything I've observed I imagine I would hate it. The feeling seems to be pretty universal. But I've observed fathers feeling that way about trivial age gaps too. My own father was still weird about the fact that my sister was having sex when she was as well into her life as 24 years old. I don't know how much of …

Yes! This is ultimately what I've observed too. Prohibition never works, ever. Young women interested in this dynamic are going to engage in it. Some of them don't even wait. A woman I was dating a couple years back told me that when she was 17 in 2007 she was fucking grown men left and right off OkCupid, never bothering to tell any of them she was a minor. It makes more sense to me to have an established education about the dynamic for the people who do engage in it than just trying to treat th…

The "but what if your rights get taken away because people are concerned that you could be manipulated by an older partner" never impressed me. But it isn't just some theory. That is observable historical reality. It's been a recurring loop of perceiving people as too immature to make their own choices, backing up the age at which they're allowed to make those choices, turning out people at that age who are too immature to make those choices precisely because we backed up the age at which they w…

Plenty of potential predators use various ways to gain the trust of young people. Your type of advocacy would not be uncommon as a means to do that. And yet I spend all my time engaging adults with my ideas. They are plentiful, and you know from our conversation go way beyond just sex. We covered a lot of ground and I still could have talked your ear off more about voting and education which we didn't get to at all. And what do you mean it wouldn't be uncommon? I'm more worried about the greater culture when we see things this way. Like I said in a reply at the top, if society doesn't perceive 18yos as capable of making their own choices, they will lose the liberty to make them. They are already being encroached upon. Last year in Oklahoma it became illegal for teachers to fuck 18-19yos in high school or college. They tried to do this in California too and found it to be unconstitutional to legally restrict the romantic/sexual partners of legal adults.…

did it work out for them in their lives. Yes! It wasn't a family member, but a girl I was quite close to in high school. She lost it in the 7th grade to her high school bf, by 15 had already come to perceive the whole campus as a bunch of little babies and started banging college bros left and right, and at six months shy of her 18th bday, found the man for her and that was that. He was 44. We were living together in an apartment with a couple other friends at the time. She was paying rent, payi…

I think you have the type of perspective I'm looking for. I'm aware that there's a balance, and that women's rights other than this one can hang in that balance and I'm sensitive to it. Are you satisfied with the legislation as it is, or would you legally restrict the partners of people 18+ if you could?
/r/PurplePillDebate04/06/26 04:18 AM

I'm sorry for your experience, truly. Took me a while to get to this one because it's long and there's a lot of comments. Do you believe that you would have listened? Do you observe young women in these relationships turning away from their partners when exposed to society's rhetoric about them? You don't want us telling our perspective. Somehow our utterances end liberty and agency for young women? This is a really strong point. You guys are of course free to say what you like. I can't argue ag…

I can promise you I'm not openly advocating about the things I do while simultaneously planning or attempting to commit half a dozen felonies. That would be unwise. In fact, the only reason I feel like I can advocate about the things I do is because there's nothing in my history that I need to worry about.

That only makes it make even less sense. How is being emotionally stunted an advantage? Are you saying if I was more emotionally stunted I'd be able to pull from the 18-24 demographic? I don't think there's anything easier for anyone about dating someone in a pool that is constantly sought all the time and who can date whoever they like.

Honestly, I'm not really dating at all at this point. I'm not going to say I'd have no interest in dating young adult women but it's not the reason for my advocacy. What you're describing is a cultural attitude, which you can't really police This is a good point and that is exactly what I'm trying to do. I'm doing it because I have seen how this exact rhetoric leads to actual legislation. Societal perception is frequently a precursor to legislation. absolves them of any manipulation or control with dating a less experienced and therefore more vulnerable person. No, it definitely doesn't. But that's what actually makes a relationship predatory. Manipulation.…

easier to date younger Where do you guys get this? As a man pushing 40, I gotta say it's pretty easy to swipe away on dating platforms and match with a woman in her 30s or 40s. Pulling from the 18-24 demographic, the ones with basically infinite options, not so much.

Edit-the same way it would be alarming if the genders were swapped btw. But people don't see it as alarming when the genders are swapped. I've seen multiple cougars upvoted on ARAD talking about how they like taking on a 'teaching' type of role as an example. Just imagine a man trying to say that. To the rest of your comment, my arguments are related. This is me essentially attacking the problem from the other side, attempting to stave off further infantilization and losses of liberty, which has…

The perspective I'm coming at it with is more that society drew a line and it needs to respect it. If you see an 18yo dating a whatever-year-old, you have to be able to perceive that as the 18yo's choice. If society in general does not actually perceive 18yos as capable of making their own choices, they will lose the liberty to make them.
