If you find him "grating", women will likely as well. That is unattractive.

I'd say this is pretty universally disrespectful. Don't belittle or insult your partner, don't stonewall, don't threaten.

No. You don't have to parent children that you create, you can give up your parental rights. But unless somebody else adopts your kid, you have to pay child support - at least in the current system. I'd prefer a system where all children receive child support from the state, aka tax payer funded.

The statement applies to all people. If you don't want to raise the child yourself, you're not obligated to do so. However, you will be obligated to support said child financially. "Consent to sex isn't consent to gestation" naturally only applies to people who can get pregnant. It's an unsolvable tragedy that some people who get pregnant misuse the right to bodily autonomy for ridding themselves of their parental obligations.

It's fascinating that so many men can only fathom how unattractive sex work is to many women when they compare it to paid gay sex. As a woman, I wouldn't prefer to have paid sex with men I'm not attracted to, to paid sex with other women. Having to sleep with somebody whom you're not attracted to is just fucking disgusting to many people, regardless of gender.

It's not mutually exclusive. Of course, it's possible (and very likely) that women (people, really) can easily identify low level manipulators (among them nice guys), while being fooled by master manipulators (abusive partners).

Where did you get the info from that it's harder for older women to date? AfaIk, a lot of older divorced women aren't interested in dating anymore ("been there, done that") while it's more men who want to get re-married. So, that actually should make it easier for older women to get a date, unless the guys their age only want to date women 10-20 years younger. Also, there's menopause which kills the desire for sex - and thus especially casual sex - for a good lot of women. Last but not least: pe…

Thoughts are free. I don't see this kind of literature becoming a problem unless it affects other people's lives. How could these negative effects look like/what is not okay? - Harassment of cosplayers - Forcing/guilting/manipulating partners into unwanted BDSM acts - Discussing sexual preferences in unsuitable settings like public transport, work, around minors etc. What is not an issue? - Fans of minotaur porn not engaging in real sexual relationships

I view therapy as upgrading your toolbox to handle life's issues. Everyone of us is born with an individual personality into a very specific environment. Our personality and our environment interact with each other. We thus develop coping strategies to deal with life/ensure our survival. As an adult, we usually leave the immediate environment we grew up in. We encounter new people and new problems. Some coping strategies in some circumstances will still be useful; in other situations the toolbox…

So, the two siblings were comparably cute as kids. Then the girl became popular, i.e. well above avarage in attractiveness. Even for women attractiveness/popularity isn't about looks only. Popular people are usually a mix of physically attractive, extroverted and kind. All how you describe the girl. Her brother, on the other hand, you describe as nerdy, without personality and docile. How are these two people comparable in regards of attractiveness? (Of course, there is the Matthew effect: peopl…

I'm not objectifying men and I don't think that the men I mentioned above are objectifying women. It's just a different kind of relationship, one where the fulfilment of roles is more important than emotional intimacy. And as long as both partners have the same expectation of what they want, these relationships can even be quite happy. There are also women who are just looking for a guy who fits the bill, especially if they want kids a lot. All I'm saying is that I think this kind of pragmatic r…

Yes, women worked in big numbers but most often it wasn't full-time and they weren't climbing the career ladder as much. Women earned a wage that supplemented that of their husbands, as it was understood that they were the primary caregivers to their children. I, mean, that has always been a big point of feminism, women having a "second shift" at home and how unfair it is that they had to do the majority of the household while also working more hours outside of the house. And why should boys wat…

But were there really so many responsibilities for men in the past that don't exist today anymore? (Of course, that also depends on the point in time - war time certainly is a different topic). But generally, life was a lot simpler as it was more predefined. I don't think men care about women batting their lashes or hiding their intellect. In fact, I find it rather frightening how little many men care at all about the personality or interests of the woman by their side. The "I don't care about h…

Mmh, I have to disagree. I don't think many men are yearning so much for the women of the past but more the societal structure, especially young guys who are still looking for their place in life. In the past, it was expected that people pair up. So, there was a massive pressure to get married and rather young. There was also no reliable contraception and no legal abortion, so if you wanted sex, you had to get married. Not so rarely, you had to marry because of an unplanned pregnancy. Gender rol…

Well, if I was treated like a man, I'd probably try becoming a "successful" man. Different characteristics are valued in men and in women and I'd try not to swim against too much against the tide. For example, as a woman, agreeableness is rewarded, so I've built a career on that. As a man, assertiveness would be more rewarded so I'd pick a job that plays into that strength. I think, in the end, the question is nearly impossible to answer. I would have developed very differently had the world alw…

Well, I think one important factor is that people nowadays (at least in the West) feel little pressure to marry very young (late teens/early twenties like in the 50ies). So, women have a lot more time to find a guy who's ready to settle down.

Cool, you just found out that freedom means different things for different people. The important aspect is choice. None of us is completely free, we're all part of society. But, thankfully, in a liberal society, you can (more or less) freely choose your path. Women nowadays can still become housewives, but also have many other options and they make use of them. I have a 9 to 5 civil service job that I find pretty fulfilling. It plays to my strengthes and I feel it's useful to society. It also pa…

In my country (Germany) it's really difficult to get an advance on child support, funded by the state, if you won't provide the father's name (as it's the state's intention to collect the money from the father later on). Sperm donation is not possible if the single mom to be can't provide a "guarantee person" for the child. This person has to be young enough (usually not over 40), to ensure that he or she will be around long enough. Anonymous sperm donations are not allowed, the children have a …

In Ancient Rome, marriage was a business contract and to produce legitimate children, it was not based on romantic love. Divorce was permitted and widely used to form new alliances. For men, it was only adultery if the other woman was married.

Yeah, I'd subscribe to that notion. Interestingly, my ex bf told me (we met under circumstances similar to above) how much he had worked to get me. Unfortunately, I can't ask him to clarify as we don't talk anymore, but I remember how puzzled I was when he told me that. My impression is, that we both put in the effort to make time for each other, suggest and plan dates, pay for dates, buy little gifts etc. So, maybe it's also that men have the impression that they have to work harder when it's n…

I think "all women would be happier single" is an exaggeration but there's a reason so many older women stay voluntarily single. I fully agree with OP that as a low libido/high emotional attunement woman, the dating pool gets very small and I don't understand the objections. I mean, e.g. men's and women's libidos are two shifted normal distributions. So, if you're a lower than avarage libido woman, it's even more difficult to find a man who wants it as little as you as - statistically speaking -…

I think asexuality and very low libido are vastly underreported/underestimated. And it's not a sign of sickness, just a variation of normal. So, a healthy sex drive can indeed mean "only wants is every few weeks". I think it's good when people speak more openly about their preferences. It raises awareness and hopefully increases their chances of finding a compatible partner.

Are there really though? Do you personally know relationships where even in the beginning there was no flirting? I honestly don't. Relationships with lots of issues already early on - yes. But devoid of attraction, no.

Go to the deadbedroom subs and you'll see that an initial lack of physical attraction is usually not the cause of dead bedrooms. Causes instead are: 1) The negative spiral - emotional disruptions lead to no desire for the woman to have sex - the problem is exacerbated when she feels pressured to have sex - unwanted consensual sex eventually leads to sexual aversion which is extremely difficult to turn around 2) A libido decrease in monogamy is very common for women, even more so than for men. If…

Relationships with other women. We see what's possible relationship-wise, then get disappointed when men are different. Actually, I think it's the same/similar for men. "Why can't she have sex to de-destress?", "If she doesn't want spontaneous sex, she's not really attracted to me", "Why is she nagging all the time?".

You know, a person who's wants to cheat on their partner will cheat. They will find the opportunity, even if they're a seemingly prudish stay at home parent. So, you either trust your partner or you don't. And if you don't trust them, why the hell are you still with them?!

Or he's lazy and relies on familial relationships as they exist per default and require less active nourishment.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/11/25 08:58 AM

First you write "people want to be desired by the people they love and desire". But when the loved and desired people don't put out, they cheat. Often with people with who "it's just sex". However, when provided with a non-cheating option, aka ENM, the sex starved don't want that either. Just as hypocritical. Anyway, I'll give most people the benefit of doubt. I think they truly believe it's sex what they crave until they realize it isn't.

What's interesting is that when, a few weeks ago, I asked men if they'd be okay with a low libido who agrees with a one-sided opened relationship for him - they weren't either.

You should say that louder to the guys in the back. Women's fantasy is not patriarchy but dominant men, they're in control of. Like in BDSM, where the (female) sub calls the shots. There's no contradiction.

The critique against porn is usually about how it is produced (abuse/drums, trafficing, publication against will etc.). None of this applies to written or drawn pornography (anime).

But both is about what you want to give and preferences that can change over time. If you had the money to buy her a car, I think you'd still be perfectly right to not gift her one. I think it's quite common that women have sex to get approval just how many men hope they can buy human connection. In both cases, it's actually a positive when they realize that they don't want to continue down that path. But even in cases where sex/money was "given" voluntarily in the past doesn't mean that people …

Yeah, the "men built society, therefore, you should fuck me" argument is wild. By the same logic, I could argue that all men were born by women and should therefore be grateful to women. But wait, that would even hold more merit, as it applies to the individual man. The "men built society" argument is often brought forward by white guys who expect gratitude for inventions of other white guys. (Of course, they (rightfully) don't want to take responsibility for other white dudes' crimes).

Allright, aside from the nature vs. nurture debate: most boys (over 80%) won't be considered "gifted" (if we define that very broadly as having an IQ of 115 and above). So, how does a "gifted program" help boys in general?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/25 02:41 PM
1

Kids who appear most "gifted" will overwhelmingly be from socio-economically well off families. Aiding only the "best" will just cement existing differences. People are a product of nature AND nurture, so much that it's impossible to say which attributed to what. We should also strive to support everyone to their best abilities, I think.
