Same. I think back on it now and three times a week I would whisper into the dog’s ear “I hate my life and I wish I was dead”. I would have done that forever. So, seriously, thanks.

I can do whatever I want, whenever I want, with whomever I want. I was pretty busted up to start with, but when I realized the worst thing I thought would ever happen to me happened, and yet I was still ok, the world fucking opened up.

So similar. Two months into her new job and everything changed. I could feel something was wrong. Turned out to be a younger dude with a wife and four small kids. I was so in denial. However, doing ok at the moment. We’re creeping up on a year post-D Day. I think it turned around for me when I said out loud with some friends I was with “this bitch might be doing me a favor”. I realize that more every. single. day. Since then, I found I have a ton of awesome friends, super supportive family, have…

Thought about this response and wanted to follow up. Life is actually pretty great right now. About mid-may I said out loud “I think she’s doing me a favor”, and it’s been nothing but good things ever since. Chicago, Soldier Field, August 29th with fucking DEVO! So stoked.

I’m a month and a half out of the house, working on getting it sold. I still stop by the old homestead to grab the kid and keep the place up a bit. I breathe a sigh of relief every time I pop open the garage door and see that that cheating woman ain’t there. The distance has been bliss. It was tough when all of this started. Now I’m just pissed and disgusted. And pissed and disgusted kinda feels a lot better than where I was in the spring. Congrats, man!

Dude, I’m writing a country song based on what her dad told me the day we got married. It’s called “She’s Your Problem Now”

Long time out from the original post, but this one hits. I remember verbalizing to my friends “I think she did me a favor”. It just kind of fell into place from there and I caught up to where she was with being soooooo done. I hate that it happened, but, Jesus Christ, the avatar of the person that I thought she was six months ago went away and I’m almost thankful that she wanted to expose who she is this way. I would have continued to live with a person who strung me along with a subsistence lev…

In progress. This just a rant. Trying not to completely shaft her, but my patience is gone.

Yes! Best thing I did was get a trainer to kick my ass at least once a week. Going in 5 days a week, as well. Pushing heavy things and getting results over the past few months has been great. If I do have a week where I can’t make 5 days, I get a little down. Currently on a road trip for a festival and I was dreading missing a few days, but I’m sure the hotel has a gym. It’s kind of an addiction now.

The panic attacks were the worst. I haven’t had one in quite a while, but to say it was debilitating was an understatement. Keeping it together at work has been tough at times. I’d just started a new job a few months before all of this and that did not help my stress level at all. But apparently, I’m doing pretty well there. I’m lucky that I’m working with old friends and teams with people I’ve worked with for years.

Now THAT’S heartbreaking. The next time they’re on tour (you know it’ll happen) me and the kid are so going and we’re getting the good seats. I’m so sorry you missed that. Thanks for the kind words. Awake and unafraid.

The first two weeks for me went from pathetic to more pathetic. I hope you’re doing well now.

I don’t want to see anything burn. I just don’t have room for that feeling. I wish her the best, but I wish me the best, too. Difference is that I can’t do anything about what she does, I just have control over me.

Sorry, man. The guilt of knowing what was done and that there’s not a justifiable reason for tearing everything down can produce some astounding dissonance for the reason why.

Yes sir. Give yourself some grace and deal with what you can in time. It’s a devastating shitshow.

Wow, same with the work. It felt idyllic up until a few months ago. Good luck to you, too.

I’ve put it out there several times that we can work through anything, but I’ve also put it out there for the last time. Here’s hoping, but as one of my old bosses used to say, “Hope is not a strategy”. And hope kinda just hurts sometimes. Thank you and best wishes.

Right back at you, m’man. I know you’ve heard this and I’m not preaching. It’s tough to not drink in this situation, but it really does mess with your “good” sleep. I hope the best for you.

“I agree with everyone telling me ‘they think I’m doing great’ when inside I feel utterly destroyed “ Yeah, I have no point of reference for whatever “doing great” is.

Same on the drinking and exercise. Once I cut alcohol out I found that it wasn’t really that great.

They say that in situations like this, you find out who your friends are. Turns out, I have a metric fuckton. Super supportive, and I feel like they’ve saved my sanity. So far, at least.

My Chemical Romance’s “Famous Last Words” is working for me. I know it’s a song about death, but 90% of it rings true. Except for the “maybe if you stay I’ll be forgiven” part. Fuck that. I didn’t do anything wrong.
