Sorry a bit late to the thread as I was away with no internet. I completely see the role I played in it and thank you for bringing it up and not minimizing it either. We do have to hold ourselves accountable as well.

That's the big question of why I keep petting him come back. We're sort of in the same social group so I always see him. He's very persistent and goes above and beyond to be extremely helpful which I've started declining but because I suppose I have feelings he always finds a way in. Thank you for your very wise comments.

He could be keeping you as an option for long term while he works on keeping his needs met. I would be very, very careful in getting to know this man very well before getting intimate with him.

You've told us a lot about what he watches but not much about the relationship itself, so it's hard to tell exactly what's going on. Quite frankly, the content is concerning, and I've seen what it does to men. Regardless of my opinion , you are uncomfortable. I guess the big question is, mother aside, does he respect women? Does he respect you? Are you able to sit him down and tell him that you are uncomfortable with the content? Will he reassure you by properly explaining why and for what purpo…

This 💯! Came here to say just that. And not just situationships. unless these men were proposing they were not serious. Judging by your story, they were not proposing. They were having fun and moving on.. OP check out alpha widow theory, you might find it useful. Now, to answer your question. If you want marriage and kids you have to start looking for men that want marriage and kids and those men have overall much different characteristics. Looks, intelligence, money is all blah blah blah... it'…

Oh it's a treasure trove! An absolutely lovely expedition... First of all, questions such as - why are you with someone you don't find attractive? fear you can't do better (amazing thing to get rid of) or financial security (are you the person you want to be or stinting yourself) or inability to experience deep bonding (speaks for itself)... then we get into the subject of this thread in particular - do we need them to be fulfilling more masculine roles... are we taking on too much... and oh so …

I know men who slept with 200+ women and still want someone with under 10 and will heavily judge anyone. Why is beyond me. Maybe they need a justification to stay alone forever.

You talk of intimacy as another chore. It's supposed to be a pleasurable experience that you look forward to....likely reasons are 1. You don't find him attractive = therapy 2. Medical reasons = check up 3. Neither of you knows what you're doing in bed & beyond = sex therapist/classes

If you want to be married by 27 then don't waste your time and emotions on men that are not serious. This man here - you know nothing about. Not what he looks like and not what he does. You've never met him. You got a crush on an idea that may or may not be true.. Nothing serious about this man. Do yourself a favor and unmatch asap. If you have to ask a question on the forum he's not the one..

Regardless of history, I agree with him. You're letting another man on his territory. To me, that is highly disrespectful. It's not even jealousy, its respect. If my fiance had a female friend stay over at our place, I think I would end the engagement right there no questions asked. Also, inviting someone into your house is a pretty big decision to be making without your man's enthusiastic agreement. If you're headed into marriage, you have to realize it's not just what you want anymore. It's co…

I am a firm believer that all change starts from within first. There's a lot of work you need to do. I would re direct your therapist or find a better one. Talking about leaving at this stage is akin to asking a toddler to fly a rocket ship. The focus needs to be on you, building up your self-respect, healing your traumas, etc. You are focusing on him instead of focusing on you. If you came into that house tomorrow, being a confident, self respecting woman, his behavior would reflect that. Inner…

It's nothing but your energy no matter how masculine your job is. This is going to sound really cliche, but you gotta love yourself. That's the only way to ever embody femininity. You have to give off I'm the prize energy. If you don't believe you're the prize, you don't give off that energy. You don't give off that energy, men don't chase. It's not about being conceited but standing in your worth. You have to be the energetic center that makes men step up, compete, chase, etc. So it's all about…

Think of it this way. This is great training for having kids 😅. If you try to change your mindset and try to find the good in them, you may even grow to like certain aspects of having them. This will also make you resilient to when kids are obnoxious. Let me tell you a story from the other side. I have a large dog. Now that I'm dating, smart men use the dog to get close to me. I'm not abnoxious about my dog, nor is he the center of my life, but if someone plans an activity for both of us on, let…

It is unlikely that you will end up finding someone 100% perfect. Having to settle for dogs seems like a pretty small downside to the whole relationship. If you are talking marriage, these are your dogs too now. Learn how to interact with them and train them in a way that makes you comfortable. Try learning to accept them. If you can't accept this now, are you going to be able to accept someone with kids as years go on (which are permanent) or flaws that your current man doesn't have? Remember y…

I know you posted this a while back but here's my advice anyway. I have noticed that the longer you wait the more worthy you are. NEVER tell a man you are waiting for a specific period. That will make them angry and even some good ones may not stick around for that. You have to use logic. Something along the lines of I am looking for something serious and I really want to get to know the person and for them to get to know me.i don't want the hormones to interfere with us seeing each other for wh…

Hmm, where to start... where to start... A man can not and will not truly be in his masculine energy if he lives with you. He needs to have his own place and invite you there. You are not serious. You've been dating for a couple of months. You don't know the guy. Why did you let him into your house and how in need of a place was he at the time? Is he getting a financial benefit from living with you? If yes, that should sound some alarm bells. Why are you going through his phone? Very uncool. So …

Judge his actions and not his words. Be your true, sweet, feminine self, but don't be future tripping just yet. You're too worried about the future vs staying in the present and judging his actions. He calls - great. Is he consistent? Is he planning any type of action. Watch for that. Work on your self-esteem in the meantime as comparing yourself to others is never a good thing. In the meantime instead of thinking of what ifs evaluate what he is actually doing... vs what he is saying

There is not a lot of detail in your post, so it's hard to gauge the situation fully. Sounds like you are depleted. Instead of depleting yourself further and stretching yourself thinner by catering to him in the way he says, have an honest conversation with yourself. Are you happy, do you have energy and desire, do you feel fulfilled. When our energy levels are low, it's hard to have that feminine energy that men seek. I like the advice above of delegating some household chores: maybe get a clea…

Don't do it!!! Find a way to stay. Frame it as you wouldn't have the confidence or w/e else to be a good wife for him if you quit. Ask what you can do to make him more comfortable. Make it all about benefits to him when negotiating. There's a deeper issue here that's going to rear it'd ugly head elsewhere If you quit

No man who is serious about you is going to tell you to explore your options. That's the only thing here that bothers me. Everything else is just you trying to look for an excuse to justify why this is not working and your insecurities about yourself that cloud your mind about why you should stay. Keep healing and working on yourself.

Lots of sound advice. May I just say Virtual Hug. I'm close to your age and single. I also recently left a bad place. Surprisingly lots of men out there. Good men. Just have to adjust our pickers. That's what im currently working on. Also the feedback I'm getting from men is that 35+ are much harder to get with. We know what we want and are less tolerant to games ;) so he can keep living in lala land. He'll have a harder time than you. All the best whatever u decide.

Do not waste your youth of this man. If he wanted something it would have been done. He's stringing you along. If you want to try to salvage it it's time to set up some terms. I need an apartment and a ring within the next 6 months or this is done.

It wasn't nice so I wouldn't recommend. But ultimately I just kept reiterating that im out of a relationship ship and will not be ready to date for 2 months. Then 2 more 😁

It was the first date. You weren't exclusive. You didn't know where things were headed. He was still free to date around. Sure, it would have been much better if he was fully invested into just you, but that's not what happened, and this is not a fairy tale.. You have accepted this, and he has committed, but you still harbor resentment. That's something you have to work through. I can't really fault him for this. With respect to everything else, you have some valid concerns that we can't address…

Starting a new relationship before you've truly moved on from the last one is a recipe for complications. Forget about the male perspective—this isn't just about them, it’s about you. You deserve a healthy foundation, and rushing in before you're healed will only lead to more hurt. Acknowledge that pain is inevitable, but it's also temporary. Prepare yourself—when you're confident, looking good, and feeling good, difficult conversations go more smoothly. Sit down with your partner and have an ho…

You're not too late. You are entering your prime. Don't rush and pick carefully. You still have time. Speak to someone to overcome your insecurity about your age. People can smell insecurities a mile away.
