Your wife needs to see a psychiatrist and/or neurologist ASAP to rule out a primary psychiatric disorder or something neurological, including dementias such as FTD. They should also do a toxicology screen, etc. Lock your financial accounts in case she does something brash and purchases a large ticket item, gambles, etc. How long ago did she begin to change? Frankly, I would consider taking her to the emergency department if there are issues managing her at home, although I recognize this has bee…

There's probably someone else if you're hearing this type of classic script.

We'd likely see a reverse in the rates of infidelity, but I don't know if that would translate to inverted divorce rates.

She was probably fucking him before all of this, dude. If not physical, then probably an emotional affair. Sorry for your pain. I've been through that. Your sentence about the relief once you found out the truth resonated with me. I had the exact same thing.

Being willing to do a dinner date doesn't separate the "high value" men from the "low value" ones - whatever that even means. You could argue the opposite.. that a man with so many options has other women willing to just go for a drink or coffee to see how they click, that he doesn't need to take that particular woman for dinner. I'm in my early thirties and in a very high income career. The money isn't the issue. I'd rather meet casually first and do dinner the second time around. I can underst…

His book is, in my opinion, written somewhat poorly but the concepts are solid.

Are you on antidepressants? If so, which one? Edit: not sure why some ignorants downvoted this. Anorgasmia and sexual dysfunction is a known side effect of antidepressants, so it was worth asking.

I hesitated posting this, but "find myself" is usually code for "I want to bang and date other men". In fact, she might have already been having an emotional or physical affair. Sometimes, they just have somebody in their sights that they want to aim for. We all hear variations of the same few scripts. It's actually jarring how similar the themes are across so many different stories here. If you can access her texts, emails, Facebook messenger conversation, WhatsApp conversations, phone, etc. in…

This is a great post. Just wanted to add that while men can certainly play a role in the downfall of a marriage, and often do, this variable can be eliminated by looking at same sex divorce rates. I forget the exact statistic, but of all divorced couples, I believe lesbian marriages made up a disproportionate amount of them and were higher than male homosexual couple divorces and heterosexual couple divorces. So women are confusing to even women.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
