Following your advice is a sure way of ending up with all responsibilities, but no extra authority or payment in return. There are boundaries that need to be enforced, and I'm not there to be taken advantage of. Also, this is literally the second time, and the first time ended up rather well for me as it made my job a lot easier and not harder as specific person would have wanted. Not calling them out and just take it with the boss? The reason I did it is not that I wanted to prove that I'm better or anything, I did it because it legit gave me more work to do that wasn't even mine in the first place. This is something they should have easily been able to do in the first place. I don't think I fucked up anywhere except for nr 4 as in "Don't be too effective" There are quite a few people who are pulling their weight and some of them even more effective than me (in their respective fields), so I don't think I'm the one sticking out as a sore thumb. I really don't like the idea of stepping up my own game due to the incompetence of someone else. There's simply put nothing to gain for me by pulling dead weights.
