So let’s go over this. A republican MRA posted that we should be protest voting for republicans (who only pay lip service to men and don’t actually advocate for them) I said that’s ridiculous and I don’t value their opinion. And you replied “this is why this movement isn’t getting anywhere.” How exactly are we supposed to be interpreting this? Why are you lashing out at people you are attempting to mobilize?

Yeah not sure what exactly he’s advocating for here. For someone who cares about “action” I’m not hearing a lot of suggestions. If I were being charitable I would say this was an internal mod dispute he made public and is now lashing out against any criticism. That being said this thread in particular is raising some eyebrows. Become disillusioned with the establishment Democratic Party is no justification for “protest voting” for fascist oligarchs. Absolutely ridiculous

Your perspective seems suspect now, and I question your motivation. The left wing sub’s mod wants us to protest vote for republicans? Hmm… Unless you just forgot to switch to your alt of course.

I don’t really care what a republican thinks.

EDIT: I have been permanently banned from r/leftwingmaleadvocates for rejecting this suggestion to “protest vote” against our own interests. As well as for criticizing the self-proclaimed ‘founder’ of the subreddit who said this is a reasonable strategy and implied it should be considered. My position was deemed “ideological purity.” This is a flagrant and textbook example of overreach, banned for the crime of perceived disrespect towards an authority figure who initiated the dialogue via a snar…

I’m here to become more informed and learn peoples perspectives so I can apply that to the real world. EDIT: Ah of course, it was a TEACHING moment. I should have known! You were demonstrating a valuable lesson that in order to cause change you need to “break the rules and rock the boat” so that… checks notes a volatile and power tripping Reddit moderator will perma ban you and then stalk your months old comments and personally reply to them so they can feel power over you because… you criticize…

What video is this? I’m in the mood to be frustrated by everyone in that video

Feminism worked for liberation and legal change, Men’s advocacy is about awareness. That’s all. We just want our struggles recognized and given consideration. That being said, many of the legal changes we are advocating for are rooted in workers rights, and minimizing class disparity.

I was called a sexist abuser by my mother when I was 15 because I explained why the wage gap was an inherently flawed statistic. I don’t try anymore. Sometimes I’ll send an article to my fiance but she’s mostly apathetical.

If you want to engage about misandry constructively this is the place to do it, if you want to lash out like a stupid animal caught in a trap then go back to your Andrew Tate bubble

I’ve given up on male advocacy. I don’t see a way forward that will lead to positive change to anyone, I don’t know how I can expect people to add more onto their plate of injustices they have to be aware of

I had a hard time understanding what your comment was saying, but I’m assuming you’re defending the use of those qualifying phrases as a way to avoid generalization and accusatory language. I agree, but I was merely drawing attention to the sheer number of times he felt it was necessary to use those phrases

Very good video. It’s so telling how many times he felt the need to say “men can do it too” or similar phrases

I get it dude. Sexually assaulted in the middle of class in high school by a girl 2 years older and a foot shorter. The only real positive is it gives me a nice first hand example to reference when I call out the “women aren’t abusers” bullshit

I know in the UK it is impossible to charge a woman with rape, is it just that they are charged with something else in the USA?

When I was a teenager I had a grown woman literally laugh in my face and then leave when I tried to open up to her about sexism I had experienced. She was a so-called feminist I’m an adult now and my long term girlfriend identifies as a feminist but makes an effort to understand me and is willing to listen. She does care about men’s issues, and she has a problem with people disregarding them. Like everything in life it’s all about the individual

I misunderstood what they meant, but I’m glad they made that point now that you’ve cleared it up for me
