You may want to run this by a lawyer, but my understanding is that the symbolic wedding ceremony means nothing legally. It's only when you file the marriage license with the state that you are legally married. I would not recommend going to university to any young man these days. Then what do you recommend they do? Learn a trade and make some money doing backbreaking work while young, and then go on disability by the time they are 40? University may not be great, but it's the best of the alternatives.

I think no-fault divorce is good for both men and women. No one should be forced to stay in a marriage they don't want to be in. What I have an issue with is no-fault division of assets. This can be harmful to the spouse who is making more money, which is usually the man.

Not at all true. A properly written prenup is very valuable. But make sure you have a competent lawyer. Trying to DIY by using online templates is a recipe for disaster.

Rather than avoiding marriage, I would encourage men to get married on your terms, in a way that works for you. Have the type of wedding you want and are okay with. Remember that it's both of your special day. Same goes for honeymoon. It should be a joint decision, not dictated by the bride. Get a prenup to protect your assets.

If the couple cannot communicate directly, then they need to figure out an alternative, such as a court-appointed intermediary. This isn't the school's problem, and it's not reasonable to expect the school to double their workload and then get stuck in the middle when they receive conflicting instructions from the two parents.

As someone who has taught college classes, I can confirm that homeschooling is a terrible idea unless you have competent tutors, which most people don't. Homeschooled students almost always fail their freshman-level classes because they just aren't prepared. Despite all the failings of public schools, they are still better than some parent trying to teach their own kids.

I think a one parent policy is reasonable, as long as they let you choose which one is the primary carer. If the two parents are not communicating with each other, then that is for a court to sort out. A judge can order the primary carer to provide certain information to the other parent.

In legal terms, "indefinitely" doesn't mean "permanently". It means that there is no fixed end date. However, he can petition the court to end or modify it. If these payments are alimony and child support, then the child support part will end when the kids become adults, which will reduce the amount. If there is a material change in circumstances (he loses his job, she gets a better job, she gets married, etc.) then he can get a lawyer and petition for a modification.

Today against the objections of conservatives (and some radfems) we've moved past the "one gender is better overall" conception to the "each gender is superior in certain areas" conception, which is still a hierarchical idea. I don't think that is a hierarchial idea. It simply means that there are differences which make each gender more suited to certain things, on average. It doesn't imply a hierarchy.

I would appreciate any help and advice, especially a pro bono lawyer in the UK if this is possible! Don't try to save money here. Get a good lawyer even if you have to pay a lot of money. It will be worth it. Lawyers are one thing you should not cheap out on. Sometimes, just having a good lawyer on your side will get the university to back down.
