They conflate inappropriate remarks with violent rape, and if you dare to argue that they are separate and are not equally terrible then you are lynched

In terms of sexual assault, the show is all right. In terms of the topic of suicide, it is probably the most harmful show for teenagers because it makes suicide look attractive as a final "fuck you" to those who hurt you since they all feel bad afterwards in the show.

Christian Bale has had a solid career since he was a kid, and he never fails to bring in big money for his films. Jennifer Lawrence had just had her breakthrough with Hunger Games, but she was not anywhere close to being in his league

I'm not for de-platforming people for expressing themselves in a way that I don't like. In this case, having someone who intentionally antagonises one half of the demographic to make a speech is dumb. It would be like having someone hold a speech at an event at an event for peaceful resolution between Palestine and Israel but they tweet regularly "kill all Jews!". I don't mind a feminist, even a hardline feminist, to hold a speech at such events, but if they are hostile towards men then they are…

I live in Denmark, and we don't tip unless it's an outstanding service. And I find that there is no difference in my service whether they're male or female. But I do see that women do get more than men when they do get tipped.

I have never in my life ever heard of men earning more tips than women. But I can imagine a female waiter that would earn fewer tips than a man, and it would probably be a waiter who was rude and entitled

I think prison rape jokes can be hilarious, but so can regular rape jokes also. Either we allow both or none. I prefer to allow jokes about anything, and that it's the responsibility of the audience to contain their hurt feelings - you know, like we have done for millennia until now.

I had a conversation with my parents one day about gender inequality. They insisted that men had all the advantage in society. I pointed out to them that almost three quarters of suicide is committed young men. My step dad insisted that when people have nothing to do and just sit around all day then they become so self-centred that their lives lose all meaning - and that's why they kill themselves. My mother said that she thought young women wouldn't kill themselves because they would think of t…

I'm trilingual (Faroese, Danish, and English) and never had a problem learning English. The basics of English is easy to learn. However, as an international language it is garbage. Pronunciation is a bitch for many to get right (the 'th' sound is a nightmare for many of my Faroese friends, even those who've actually lived in the UK for years). The sounds are rarely consistent with the letters in the words - for example, 'through', 'though', and 'tough'.

But even then, a lot of women still work reduced time. In my country (Faroe Islands), 51% of all women work part time while only 11% of all men do the same. Nevertheless, as of 2010 83% of all women are active in the job market, whereas the rest of West Europe lies around 66%.. And still!!! They bitch about wage gap. Luckily, they do realise that the discussion is not on workplace discrimination but rather choice made by women. Feminists here argue that society forces women to take maternity lea…

Like /u/obviouslythrowaday pointed out, it is a fallacy to say that these feminists are not true feminists. The problem exists because "real" feminists do not condemn the shit that these radicals have been pulling off. There are few feminists that actually call out Sarkeesian on her bullshit. The rest applaud her just because she calls herself a feminist. Being a feminist in this decade is incredibly popular because it is a synonym for women's rights - and only misogynists are against women's ri…

I can understand that they want to set a precedence. If all it took was getting the child to admit lying about their age then it would be exploited like hell. But seriously, a 19 yo with a 14 yo? She keeps mentioning the 4 million children and then states that the new regulations shouldn't be enforced because the children are separated "for good reasons" such as abuse. So, she's saying with a straight face that 4 million children are abused by their fathers every year? This is quite a statement to make.

I will argue that an open marriage is not a bad thing per se. It's just that his reasoning for having one is piss poor. If both partners are excited about having multiple partners then go ahead. Just keep all communication clear and honest. And for the love of God, don't try to guilt others into doing it too and saying that they're not true feminists if they are not cuckolds too.

When did "fragile" come into the discussion about masculinity? I thought SJWs were all calling it "toxic". I guess it's either? So if I'm fragile in my gender role then I am toxic. Instead of working on a solution to fix the problem when certain men feel uncomfortable in with certain things, let's just mock them and make a list of how pathetic they are. That will crush the patriarchy and make everyone happy. It totally won't antagonise men in general.

Or you get accused of "derailing" the conversation. Every. single. time. Holy shit, I'm done debating with feminists. When I debate I want to present my evidence and to examine their evidence, and then I hope that both parties will explore the topic within the evidence presented after which both parties should arrive at some sort of agreement on the subject, or at least an understanding of the opposing view. "As a victim of [insert category topic of violence]..." is probably the weakest attempt at claiming authority of a subject. Being a victim of an incident does not magically endow you with statistical and analytical knowledge of all related types of incidents. Even as a victim, you could only explain from your own point of view since you are not everyone else who may have had a different experience or reaction to it.

English is a pretty terrible language for foreigners to learn, and it's even worse as an international language. However, Swedish already has a gender neutral pronoun, "det" ("it"). "It" is a gender neutral pronoun, it is used when either the gender is unclear or void of gender. The problem is just that nobody wants to use it because they feel it's degrading since the connotation is that of inanimate objects or inhuman creatures. So instead of using a perfectly good word they want to create some…

They always go for the dick with their aggression, either with their insults or maiming it. For example, my brother fraped me last summer and commented on a girl's picture "2/10 would not bang". The narrative of that women need the safe space and that they feel insecure and unsafe just solidifies that the 3rd wave feminism is about victimisation. If we need "women's only hours" because they feel scared of men then by that same logic we'd need "scrawny weak men's hours" for men who are afraid of being judged by those buff men. Clearly, we don't need those hours because either you take charge of your own life and destiny, or you sit at home and cry about your problems - You don't get both…

Because they have the mindset that nothing better might come in the future, that she is the best they deserve. I so sad. I personally believe that a lot of men could do so much better but they settle for less. At best in these types of relationships, the woman will only ridicule and shame the man behind his back, at worst she will kill him.

In my school, one teacher attempted gold stars. It worked out pretty well. We got a gold star for each book we had read and had to prove it by a book report afterwards. True, maybe not half-half. Maybe somewhere around 75% to the husband? I don't know American law so I wouldn't know what is deemed proportionate there. It just sounds like the outcome of a bad romcom movie. The villain tricks her protagonist-husband by divorcing him and ends up losing it all. Bitch had it coming. I agree. OP should not necessarily jump into bed with the first woman to spread her legs for him. It's not just about sex, it's also about emotional connection. It looks like the husband may have cheated or at least attempted to cheat, and then the wife reacted to it by taking away his facebook (which is how a parent would react to an unruly child). I don't know about "SEXISM!" whenever she gets criticised. It really depends on the critics. If they make unwarranted remarks about her ability for leadership based on her gender, such as "She's being hysterical and irrational because she's probably in her menopause" - then yes, that would be sexist. But if the critiques were "Her arguments do not hold water under scrutiny. The statistics show [blank] which opposes Clinton's claims" - that would be a perfectly fine and appropriate critique. I do…

So, it's just a policy that the DPP will be using now. Luckily, that won't affect the court much. The court will still be considering the defendant innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt. The 'tool' where the police want the suspect to defend himself is purely investigatory in nature and won't translate directly into court. The 'golden thread' in the criminal justice system is the concept of innocent until proven guilty (R v Woolmington), and that means that if any man were to be f…

I only get offended when it's with a certain tone, that they're implying that I'm a misogynistic rape apologist. None of us are, but it's the way they would say "MRA", their association with the word.

Exactly! I'm so tired of these feminists trying to destroy the criminal system with their fucked up view on justice. A person is always innocent until proven guilty. The fact that these feminists insist on letting a man suffer for being wrongly accused of rape means that they assume that he's guilty and that the criminal system is too lenient towards male rapists.

On paper, yes. In reality, it most certainly is not. But besides that, if it were recognised by the state then it would deter the woman from having the child in the first place. However, there needs to be something else also in place because a contract like this is not the solution.

Not everyone in the army is infantry. You would need "basic" health and fitness but that's it. After that you can be anything in the army, provided you pass their tests. A woman does not have to be equally strong as a man, she just needs to be able to keep up on the field. Weakness does not necessarily result in death because we're not fighting with swords anymore. As long as the woman is strong 'enough' to carry firearms, aim and shoot, and to fun on the field with a heavy rucksack then they ar…

I really appreciate your direct no-bullshit response. It's a bad habit that I've had most of my life to simply give up when life is too much, but I will see a counsellor and get through this. I wasn't trying to play the victim role, but rather to explain what emotions are going around in my head and the negative effect it has had. It was better last week, I went to my classes. I confronted my flatmate, she claimed that she did not remember anything. I'm not sure if she were lying because she was…

Yeah, but I've been there twice already for my depression that I've had for the last 7 years. In UK law, the mens rea for rape requires that the defendant knew that the victim did not give consent. This means that if both were drunk and getting at it, and the guy genuinely thought she wanted to have sex then he cannot be convicted.
/r/MensRights13/11/14 06:11 PM
3

Intoxication during sex is not necessarily rape. It really depends on how drunk she is. Can she verbally take consent back at any point? Could she physically walk away? Or is she near the point of unconsciousness? Intoxication is a spectrum, and you cannot decide whether it's rape without knowing the circumstances. The feminists are quick to say that one should never look at circumstances in a rape case, but this is what makes or breaks a case. How drunk is this girl? In the video, she was able …

This is the best part. This is when you see how comfortable you are with each other. Each time I'm with a new woman it's a new experience, each reacts differently when I undress her. I find the best setting to do it first time is on the bed, sitting up. You make out and start to slowly undress her. Don't think about techniques or methods. Have fun undressing her. She's nervous, you're nervous. If you laugh at awkwardness it will alleviate the tension, but don't make fun of her or don't try to go…

Actually, the article states that both genders do it, and for both it's academically called romance tourism. However, we all know what it really is. It's all about sex. So it's sex tourism for both genders. The stigma towards men though is mostly due to men's sexual activities with underage prostitutes in impoverished areas. I suppose that's why it's easier to frame the narrative that men go for sex tourism while women go for romance tourism

This is bordering on cringe. Also, when you need to use children, who have yet to reach intellectual maturity, to voice your message for you then you've lost all integrity. These girls are just shouting feminist rhetoric fed to them. They are enthusiastic about it because they're told all this misinformation, pumped up, told that they're doing a really good job for all girls in society, etc., but not because they actually understand the issue of gender inequality.

you should also note that it's illegal to pay people differently based on their gender, race or religious persuasion. It is against the law for a person to be paid more than another person for the exact same job based on gender, race, sexual orientation or religion! If a man works in an office and has the same position as a woman but gets paid more than her, then it's against the law. THAT would then be a reason to go on a crusade. However, this "wage gap" is based on ALL women and ALL men in ALL jobs in the ENTIRE country. Then yes, there is a difference. That difference is quantifiable. Claiming that women sh…

You're talking about "common law assault". Assault in general is also battery. I know because I study English criminal law, and it's confusing as fuck. Well, they don't say that they think "all men" are rapists. They just say that since they don't know how to distinguish between a potential rapist and a harmless man (the whole Schrødinger rapist shtick) then it would be safer for them to assume he might be one regardless and treat him thus. I prefer the honest way to this. If you bring up the subject then you could focus on what you want to do to her, rather than on your lack of experiences. From personal experience, if you're a virgin then you might still want to let her know of this. She will know once you start doing it anyway. If you're honest then she might teach you and make a man out of you. First time is not only special for women, men have emotions too. Honesty makes you vulnerable and shows her that you're a man who is no…

Have you tried testing her to see if it's true? Asking her his name, how long they've been together, is she happy with him, is he satisfying her spiritually and sexually, etc.? Asking her such questions in a row might sound weird but it will throw her off guard, and it will show whether or not it's true and how she really feels about her relationship (if it exists). It'll open up a whole conversation topic and you get to know her on a deeper level than usual.

The girl is indicating to you that she is looking for boyfriend material whom she can tame and control. This sounds as if you haven't physically escalated with her enough, or even you haven't given her a chance to demonstrate her value and chase you - that you have been gaming her all the time instead of push-pulling. It's not ALL about being alpha, it's about being playful as well.
