Something I’m really scared of raising in progressive spaces, is that capitalist media seems to have convinced multiple generations of women that it’s empowering to consume mindlessly or grind for a corporation, but sexist to care about others or raise a family. This seems really bad. I think regular men, having been raised to be good little soldiers, intuitively understand a little bit better that none of that shit really matters. If you meet a dude that doesn’t want to have kids so he can trav…

I think calling this manosphere mentality is being massively reductive, and this kind of wilful dismissiveness is why people generally distrust left coded advice on these things. I had actually a relationship with a girl who dressed all sexy and put a lot of effort into that stuff, she told me it was good I was ok with it, showed I wasn’t insecure or controlling. It turned out she was doing for exactly the reasons OP thinks. Now I’ve been cheated on, and I’m very suspicious of women using the ae…

The size of boobs or ass doesn’t always correlate with how nice it is lol. You gotta relax on your size obsession.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/25 04:59 AM

Big boobs are fun but I’m also into petite women. Idk what to tell you bro, I’m not lying.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/05/25 04:35 AM

Your friend even having options to complain about puts her in an infinitely better position than a man of equivalent value. I’m not sure what you want people to say in response to this.

Nah with this kind of thing it’s definitely real. Everyone knows the most masculine job is selling hormone pills to other insecure men. I will say I think, when it comes to body image and things like that, the places where it’s most strongly felt (i.e dating) from women, even if primarily unknowingly. Like as a 5ft7 man, I’ve had a few notable instances of men being shitty to me about it, but tbh it tends not to hurt as much as knowing that like 90% of women don’t consider me a real man.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/04/25 01:29 AM

Yes that was definitely a thing that I said. I think you need to log off for a bit.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/25 07:00 PM

If you want to view this as a feminism thing that’s fine. But frankly, I think it’s primarily because he’s a Republican and she’s a Democrat. The election wasn’t fought on this stuff either, Harris really didn’t go hard on Trump being an adjudicated racist. We’re veering outside of feminism and intersectionality and into the territory of the democrats poor strategic decisions.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/25 06:59 PM

Right ok. I think you may be reaching here… like… a lot. That Harris shit was a 5 minute attempt at manufacturing some controversy from some bad faith right wing actors, you know that. No the Harris flash wasn’t given more weight than a rapist situation which got multiple court cases and was constantly in the news. Does Trump deserve worse? Yes, obviously. But come on, be serious. A lot of this exists the discussion on feminism too. Politics has changed a lot over the years, and Bill Clinton’s s…
/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/25 06:46 PM

I think this is a really rough one. Because a fundamental flaw in the feminist mindset is not having enough understanding of intersectionality to know that the patriarchy and privileges associated with being a man are pretty much reserved for the upper classes, with non white and non wealthy men experiencing essentially none of the privilege you assume they do and pretty much all of the downside. Trump is a bit of a case in point. He himself acknowledges he can do this cause he’s famous, a poor …

/r/PurplePillDebate24/04/25 12:45 PM

I think it’s hard to explain. But women are socialised to view accountability differently to men. You can call it a function of the patriarchy if you want. But essentially, women tend to view themselves as powerless, floating around, succumbing to the whims of others. They’ll never blame themselves for their own life circumstances. Self improvement doesn’t tend to be a priority for women, and implying they should take responsibility for their behaviour tends to be met with derision. Meanwhile, f…

The truth is women are just likely to lie to themselves or break their own rules, if the guy has a 6 pack or whatever. Not so different from how men behave, because we’re all just people.

There is no such thing as an economic left with political power. The fact you think there is demonstrates your complete lack of knowledge on macroeconomics.

Why are they like this lol? These fuckers are responsible for the manosphere’s painfully broad appeal. It would be so easy to just be like “yeah half our population being chronically lonely is a problem and we should try to fix that”

Jesus Christ that’s cold. A huge percentage of people should die alone because other problems exist… I guess.

I find it really funny how both of you have made up numbers, his number sounds bad but your number to make it sound less bad… also sounds bad. If you don’t care about the massive societal problem of disposable men you can just say bro. It’s ok. Many people don’t care about issues that don’t impact them personally.

I think this is a real problem with the modern feminist’s relationship to capitalism. I don’t give a fuck about your career, I don’t give a fuck about my career. We are all more than our jobs, and it’s exhausting to have to frame gender equality around your relationship to capital.

I think this westernised stuff is basically a myth coming from guys who have never been here. They have social media here you know. I’ve been in SEA for a long time. For the most part, the green card thing is a lie or only applies to older generation. I’ve pretty much only dated university educated middle class girls who have no interest in leaving their home. We do well because the women don’t have absurdly high standards (i.e 6ft 6 figures etc) but they absolutely do have standards. They also …

Every time someone says it hurts to be unloved, there’s immediately someone like you who jumps out to say NoBodY DeSErVes lOVe! Stfu, nobody that said that and yes actually everyone deserves to be loved.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/24 06:41 PM

I remember seeing an article once that said something like “there’s many ways to be a women, but only one way to be a man”. I think that about sums it up.

For reference, I’m also British and am a DN. I’ve been travelling full time for 2 and a half years. Trust me I know women travel, many of my closest friends are female DNs. Most of them are self funded. But if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck… especially with really fancy spots. Even my friends will openly admit that they can (and sometimes do) access freebies if they enjoy a man’s company. Sometimes it’s not even a man’s company, women also have a much easier time couch surfing/house …

I agree with everything you’ve said, I’ve made a post of my own criticising OP. But I think you’re perhaps pushing it too far with the 2nd to last paragraph. It’s pretty common knowledge these days that a lot of Instagram travel girls are funding their adventures by being holiday girlfriends to wealthy men. If you meet an average 9-5 worker with tons of glamorous travel pics, then it’s not unreasonable to think something funky is potentially going on there.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/12/24 11:15 AM

I think this might not be about men or women. Your perception of travel as “escapism” and “vacations” may say more about a lack of worldliness on your part, than anything about other people.

Women do genuinely give bad dating advice. But it’s got nothing to do with the manosphere, they just don’t always know what they want and haven’t ever been in men’s shoes.

Hmm, I’d say yes and no. I’m a leftist but I’m not too sold on our modern or traditional perspective on gender roles. I depend on her, she depends on me. We have different assets, she’s a terrible driver, I’m terrible at paperwork and organisation. I think this is what a relationship is, independence is a lie. I was raised by single mother, and while I admire my mother’s strength, everyone’s life including hers got better when she could rely on my stepdad. I like it when she’s dependant on me in…

I drive my girlfriend places, fix anything mechanical, do anything that requires heavy lifting. This is really all I need. Everything else is either equal (e.g cooking and cleaning) or the “feminine” equivalent (e.g I’m crap at laundry so she does it). I get a bit offended when she doesn’t let me, I have to work on my own reaction. But I do genuinely believe that when she doesn’t let me help it’s her practicing a kind of toxic independence that stems from her upbringing. I realise that this is a…

Oh god, I’m under attack from all sides now. Are you really comparing feminism to nazism? No. The Nazis were bad because of their awful beliefs and all the killing they did, not because I dislike Hitler. Although, I do… dislike Hitler. In the same vein: feminism is good because it brought women the right to vote, among many other things. Despite the fact that I dislike many feminists, seriously most of them are insufferable. Hope this isn’t too complicated for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/24 07:51 PM

Well, as previously stated: as long as it defines itself in opposition to them, yes it does. My original comment was me saying this was a mistake, and that feminism doesn’t have to define itself by opposition to men. That it is not incompatible with these issues. That defining itself through that lens, whilst justified and beneficial in the past, is no longer good or necessary.

There is no spectrum, simply your own biases defining what is and isn’t radical
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/24 06:41 PM

I think you’re being disingenuous here. There are plenty of people actively advocating for those issues, and refusing to acknowledge an issue even exists is definitely fighting against an issue.

If you say so. But I think the overwhelming number of people on this subreddit who chose to ignore the facts regarding men’s issues might beg to differ.

Is that what I said? Or are you just taking the least charitable interpretation of my words?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/24 04:05 PM

Well, I think it’s inevitable that prominent leaders of a movement are the most radical and dogmatic proponents of its beliefs. However, that doesn’t make the broader goals and accomplishments of feminism invalid. Again, I don’t wanna sit here defending it because there is ABSOLUTELY a misandrist streak in modern feminism. That streak just doesn’t invalidate the fact that women now have a right to vote, when once they did not.

This quote is fun and all, but no young man is accustomed to privilege, by this quote’s definition, he would only know equality. I would say power dynamics in relationships can very easily skew in the direction of women these days, everyone knows this. It isn’t mutually exclusive with the existence of abusive or violent relationships.

I completely disagree. I’ve been in this subreddit arguing with feminists a fair bit, and I think you’re doing something they also do. A few individually bad people does not a political movement bad. Feminism was completely needed through the suffragette era all the way through to the girl boss era. Women did not have rights, and they were and still are routinely abused in every day life. The issue now is not some individual feminists being toxic, it’s that there is a wide misandrist streak to t…

I think, again as a progressive, there’s a bit of a societal double standard with these things. Generally, men are expected to grow and change, anyone who doesn’t is toxic, but women are expected to be accepted as they are. You could easily frame this as misogyny, as tons of women will happily infantilise themselves and others. Men don’t even have to do it for them, though obviously many do. Edit: I will add the caveat that this doesn’t hold true in academics or career, I am mainly referring to …

Hey I’m not gonna dispute the existence of guys who are arseholes. I just think basing my political beliefs on that is a bad idea.

I’m supposed to be a liberal progressive guy, but I can’t really find a single actual fault in what you’ve said. Nor is any of this really incompatible with my socialist and feminist politics. OP here is just practicing a kind of spiteful grievance politics without looking at reality. I get that the examples she’s given are dudes being arseholes, but so…? You can’t base your beliefs off the existence of arseholes. I think most blue pill men sorts disagree with these things out of a kinda politic…

I love that a lot of the blue pill posts here are explaining the problem in complex detail. That western progressive values are basically entirely correct, but coming from that framework and having basically “won” the fight for a long time, has led to people being overly zealous and viewing these beliefs as a capital C correct default. … And then you just doing that exact thing lol
