I agree with the judge. Prison is a place to rehabilitate most and a hole to hide the darkest among us at taxpayer expense. This woman fits neither category. I could not imagine holding that secret for 50 years. However, I feel counseling and community service should have been ordered, and part of that counseling should have been for her to help new teen mothers cope with and learn to understand what it means to give and nurture life. Really? There is not a lot of coed sleep-aways at a Young Mens Christian Association. So I don't see how you can compare that to young kids hooking up. I'm not attacking you, I just believe at 15, kids want to experiment. I'm an older Redditor, if we had this technology to share pics in an instant like the kids do today... I don't know. No... Oddly enough, Norway has one of the best records in the world for rehabilitation of their offenders in terms of re-offense. Edit: I looked it up. When you say they would never do it on their own, you're kinda right. Most of these "scumbag fucks" come from poverty and do not have the opportunity many of us do. For a lot of these people it comes down to survival. Join a gang, steal, drugs to escape... Prison programs work for some, not all. The real problem with recidivism is the lack of follow-up, even less opportunity... Times were tough before, now find a job with a record.
