I'm 5'9", so I just decided to build outwards and have now been lifting for a couple of years. Smaller guys have the blessing of filling out more easily with muscle mass in the sense that they don't need to put on as much muscle size to look 'built'. You notice it a lot when you cut bodyfat. I lost 10kg of bodyweight in 2 months of cutting this summer, though during the first two weeks I lost a good 4kg; most of which was water weight. Cut out the carbs and down goes your weight, albeit temporarily.

Protein is a macro nutrient so saying that protein is some sort of miracle ingredient has always struck me as absurd. Yes, I do buy whey isolate as it is a cheap, easily-digestible form of protein that can be chugged with milk after a gym session, though when people start saying "how much protein you on?" it's quite irritating.
