If you're new, I would tell you to start slow. Talk to one new person at your work every 2-3 days. For ex, when you are at the water cooler and there is somebody there, you can just say "Hello" and say something situational or even just compliment the guy. I have been doing something similar for the past 4 months. When I started following the advice here(6 months ago) and talking to girls, I would be very anxious.
