I’m gonna say by looking at her? I doubt this guy has read her research and can discern qualifications based on the soundness of her research. Nevertheless, I’m gonna go out on an incredibly short limb and say this is a sociology gen Ed class. If I right, OP, just keep your head down and get through the damn class. If you don’t like this shit, I hope you’re in a STEM field and have no plans for a career in academia. Academia is lost.
