I don’t even know how the waitress suggested a split after he said separate. Separate means separate and after she suggested split down the middle I would’ve reiterated no, separate.

Well, to be fair, I couldn’t stop unintentionally rolling my eyes at my ex… but that’s because he was full of shit. Would lie like a rug and try to pull the pity card or - I just slept with x amount of girls the second I moved out because I was desperately trying to get the same feeling that WE had - yeah ok 👌

Nah. His comment is made to take a dig at her. Sure his relationship didn’t work out, but at least he’s not doing sex work. And hey, if her self esteem is low enough he might just be able to get his foot in the door so he can just jump back to something familiar. Gross. Edit - changed a word

It’s not a question on how can she sacrifice so much… we’re expected to. The easy choice, for the benefit of the family, is for him to move and put in nights and weekends. His sacrifice would be temporary and also a step towards his goals as well. Her sacrifice is self sabotage.

Yeah that’s crazy that he would take any personal items while in a relationship, for whatever his needs were. You dodged a bullet with this one. Sorry he still reaches out that’s sick.

He stole your stuff so that you would notice and reach out, and that way he could get his foot in the door. That’s creepy as hell. On a side note, but related, almost a year after I broke up with my NV abusive and narcissistic ex, I found some original documents from his clients, (he’s a lawyer), and a couple newspapers that his case had made the front page, he always bought a few when this happened. Anyways, I mailed them back to his office with no note, no nothing, and the return address was m…

What’s sad is that by actively trying to avoid abusive men and setting for mediocre, we set ourself up for the bare, if not sub-par, minimum, just to not be abused. We’re OK with them not putting in the effort, not pulling their weight, being slobbish - just because we’re not getting yelled at, mocked, intimidated, etc. it’s a real thing if you’ve had abusive men around.

My last relationship in a nutshell. Hilarious now... emotionally taxing and painful at the time -10/10 would not recommend.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
