I was in a similar spot when my marriage fell apart and as I was getting divorced. Meeting my current girlfriend changed it all though- she helped me build my confidence back up which was the primary issue. Totally normal sex drive and function now. You’ll be fine

People “clear” stories and just view everything the people they follow post so there isnt anything new at the top of the page. Seems like you’re the one who cares more if it’s a problem enough to post here.

It’s become more and more clear to me that my ex and I weren’t sexually compatible but that doesn’t mean that there wasn’t some good sex along the way. We can “make it work” in relationships but it obviously isn’t a recipe for sustainable success.

Cool dude- OP clearly doesn’t think like that

Wasn’t married nearly as long as you but was exclusive with my ex wife for 7 years. Once I started having sex with my current gf, I would last for way longer than I did before but that’s started to change and after being with her for a few months now I’m back to my regular self. Might just be a subconscious “comfort” thing

Couldn’t stand my Ex-MIL and one of my Ex SIL because of what a lot of other have said- so self absorbed and cynical. MIL would bring every conversation back to herself and was soo negative about everything it was tiring to be around. As my relationship went down hill with my ex wife I saw her being more and more like her mom which was such a huge red flag.

Improved mental health and self discovery. A better relationship where I feel valued and comfortable. More comfortable with handling difficult situations. I actually enjoy being alone. Better relationships with family. Positive outlook on the future (even though I have no idea what it holds). It sucked when I was going through it but the grass has definitely been greener on the other side.

Me neither, I’m very average, but thats the point I’m making- knowing what you’re doing is key

Starting to think I wasn’t in love with my ex…

While I wasnt looking for it, I met a very cute girl while finalizing my divorce. She knew my whole situation and for that reason (and her personal standards) we waiting a bit to have sex but knew right away we wanted to have sex with each other. It was WELL worth the wait and has been the best sex of my life. My ex and I had decent sex when we started dating late in college but never communicated well about anything and that ended up being the downfall of our marriage and sex life. I made it a …

Separated in March and went through uncontested divorce which could be finalized any day now. Was looking to get out and meet some women at the beginning of the summer as stbxw and I were still living together but waiting for the house to sell. Long story short, in late June, I (28) met a very attractive girl (24) and we immediately hit it off and have been seeing each other all summer. She knew about my divorce before meeting me and was equally shocked at how there was an immediate connection b…

I fell into the late college/early career relationship where I just expected marriage to work out as “the next step”. Didnt go as planned, but getting back out there has been fun despite all the other shit. No kids and still in my 20s so this will be a good summer. Edit for more thoughts: The few women I’ve talked to like the “life experience” side of it. Easy to come off confident that way

Been out only two nights since separation and met/hooked up with two very beautiful women, much younger too. Was expecting it to be more difficult but have been pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, you can always choose to play with a group or squad and just load in by yourself and it adds you to a team

I’m in my late 20s so a little younger than you, but I play fortnite with my friends- been playing since it came out. Just a fun game to talk while playing and catch up while having fun. On my own, I usually play RPGs like Assassins Creed or Skyrim but recently started playing Hogwarts Legacy and am really enjoying it.

Bought a PS5 the weekend my wife and I separated. Disclaimer: I played games about 2 nights a week with my friends on my old PS4 and was planning the upgrade for a while. While I have other hobbies (working out, cooking, reading etc…) I’ve used that PS5 most nights as I’ve navigated this divorce and will continue once I’m on my own. Wouldn’t even consider myself a “gamer”, i really only play 2 games, one to hang with friends, the other to play alone. I think it can be a good escape!

Just another reason why my next marriage will have a prenup… Currently selling the marital home with my stbxw at a major profit so I’ll probably turn around and buy again with the same goals as you. Will definitely be protecting that asset legally once another major relationship comes around though.

Very similar situation that my stbxw and I are working to end… neither of us saw the other as being able to make us happy long term. Late 20s, no kids, it was time. Not easy to come to that point, but good that we got to it before kids.

Spent the holiday weekend back out at bars and hit it off with a very attractive woman. Ive now found myself having crazy anxiety about it 😂. Definitely will come up in my next therapy session. Felt good to get back out there, but probably a little too soon for me.

Ive got about a month and a half left and its absolutely brutal. Not sure if you’re predisposed to it, but anxiety will be a daily issue. We don’t talk, just exist. Its an awful way to live. Stay strong brother

Still in the process but i’ll be going from a 3 bed 1.5 bath to a nice 1 bed 1 bath apartment primarily because we bought low and are selling high on the house. Fortunately I’ll be able to buy another house soon with the $$ from selling my house once/if the market settles back down

Also in Jersey, currently using “Wise Way to Divorce” just started last week

Working through the same thing right now but in New Jersey. Everything I’ve read makes it pretty clear that almost everything is going to be considered commingled and you’re entitled to 50% regardless. My wife and I don’t have a ton outside of our house so its a little easier to split (despite her claiming she deserves more of the house) 😂

She first said 70% (HELL no). Now she wants to “add up” all the money we’ve spent individually “so i can see how much she paid.” And if I still want 50/50 she said she’ll get a lawyer. Ive consulted legal advice and now know she has no claim to anything over 50% and no judge would even hear the case given our circumstances. I’ll come to our mediator with a plan that compromises in her favor in regards to our furniture and stuff but will still be claiming the 50% of the house. She’s either emotio…

Probably in the 150-120 range so the lawyer fees are an unnecessary expense

Fortunately the house and stuff in it is the only stuff that we have to discuss splitting (we owned our cars before we married and our careers are identical with similar pensions etc…) Our property has appreciated in value so its the only thing worth discussing dividing and we’re both entitled to an equal split. There isn’t anything else that is worth having thats worth giving up 10% of what will be a nice profit from selling the house

Thanks for this, this is easily the hardest part as I’m a generally trusting and honest person. I’m realizing as ive researched and consulted people about this that she’s either completely lying trying to manipulate me or shes super misinformed. Either option sucks

I read an FAQ about this situation written in my state and it even said that a single person purchasing a home on their own with the intent to make it the marital home is not entitled to recouping the down payment in case of a quick divorce. She didnt buy alone so that precedent should be even more favorable to me considering we bought it together.

In terms of salary, cars, retirement/pensions etc. we are both pretty equal (no kids, both teachers with the same amount of education and similar experience) and theres no case to really argue anything. She’s arguing for a 60/40 on the basis that she paid the downpayment and majority of the mortgage for the time we owned the property. In the scenarios ive been reading about, in my state, even if only one spouse is on the mortgage, the marriage makes the house marital property and the other spous…

In a similar situation at a similar age brother. Make the move. It will NOT be easy but there will be days along the way where you’ll totally reaffirm your decision.
