This reminded me of something that happened at my first job. I was a hostess at a restaurant and I often had to go back and forth to the kitchen to help the servers run food during the dinner rush. The best suggestion that I have is to just not be nice to men at all. Smile as little as possible, keep a straight face, don't ever indulge any of their bullshit, don't make friendly chit-chat. Honestly, I've found that the most effective way to shut them down is to ignore. Don't even look at them. These creeps want attention from women, regardless of whether it's good or bad. Yeah I agree with you. Social media has greatly cheapened human relationships while also increasing instant gratification, so I can definitely see the disconnect. I remember Limewire too, and Windows 94. I specifically remember people behaving differently in their relationships and interactions with others around 2005 when social media got really big.
